2 miles on the track to warm up the legs. 4 Tm miles with 1/2 mile tempo pushes. I'm scared of this 10k Saturday!! I hate short distances. .25 mile easy, .50 @ 6:53 (8.7) good push, but you can do more. Be a big girl and go faster. .50 easy, .50 @ 6:49 (8.8) better, but not maxed yet...keep going faster .50 easy, .5 @ 6:44 (8.9) I think you can do 9.0 next time! You should be able to do 10 repeats at this speed! Now get on with it slacker!! Can I put the TM down to 0% instead of my 1%? No! It is all in your head, just do it!! So, I plugged into some Eminem and went for it... .50 easy, .50 @ 6:40 (9.0), .25 easy to round it out. Holy crap, I did it and could do it again. See?!? It just takes mental power. Now get out and get a new, accurate 10k PR Saturday. Easy was at 9:53 (6.7) or faster (up to 7.2); TT= 31:00 for the 4 miles. AP: 7:45. 2 miles cool down on the track. Most of it chatting with Bill about Moab Saturday. Since today is my 14th anniversary (I'm OLD!) my hubby came to the gym too. He was done then, but I wanted to finish out the 2 hrs of daycare I was now paying for. So, I did my PT/weight set! Side walk, calf raises, lunges, weighted bridge leg raise, push ups, speed lap on track, back extension raises. 3X On the speed lap I raced my husband. He always says he is a faster sprinter, but I've got the endurance. Well, I hate to say he is right! On these short little laps he can kick my trash, but he can only do it once :) today...a new day! I beat him on the fast lap!!! Schzam!! I finally got speed and endurance on MY side of the table! No, we're not competitive at all, why do you ask? :) |
