Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Didn't want to wake up, but I knew it just had to get done - so I did it. I've been SO lucky that sometimes the only open TM is always next to Kelli. I think she intimidates too many people by looking so cute and running so fast all the time :)

Decided to do hills today, ha. hills in 4 miles. 1 mile warm-up 1% @ 8:27, then I waited until the minute mark. Pace consistent @ 8:57, then I increased the incline .5 every 30 seconds until 7%. Took a 2 min recovery flat, then started at 7% and decreased every 30 sec to 1%. Total of 12 minutes (1.3) miles of climbing. I failed to noticed the vert.

After another 2 min recovery at 1% and 8:57, I took the speed up t o8:27 to finish out the 3rd mile. 4th mile all at 1% and increased speed every quarter (started 8:20) and then the last quarter went progressive every .05 of a mile to finish at 7:30 pace. Felt good, nice to put some speed in after hard hill climbs.

Got to go to spin today! yay! Danielle is my favorite teacher and her strength class Wed mornings is the bomb. Jello legs for sure.

Home and shredded it up with Jillian. L3, so lots of plyo moves; glad it is only 20 min :)

Had to get some reading in while the bread was raising, so I finished with 60 min on the recumbent bike while reading. Dang that Luis Zamperini! Every time I think he is finally going to be okay I turn the page and the guy is up to his eyeballs in it again! I honestly think I could beat his mile time before I could endure all that he (so far that I've read anyway) has gone through! Seriously, that man is resilient!

That book sounds very cool. I'll have to check it out! What's it call again, Unbeatable, or Unbreakable?

That book is so inspiring! It's David's favorite book for sure. I say there needs to be a movie soon...

Lots of hard work from you today, great job! I want in on that spin class.

Smooth, Laura Hillenbrand is the author of that book. So inspiring.

Nancy, yes. I am going to be pacing the 1:55 group! I'm excited, a little nervous, but excited.

Smooth, like Becca said: yes :)

Carina, just trying to keep up with the awesome ones like you!

Becca, I can see why David would love it so much. You'd love Danielle's spin class - Allison's too!

Did you make your tasty rolls? Yumm. Your workouts make me tired just reading about all you do.

Rock on..

QP, no I actually made some Hearth bread that I used to slice and make Paninnis (sp?) out of. It was SO yummy! I was SO proud of myself for making GOOD, edible bread! One loaf from the batch Tuesday with Granny soup - gone! The next loaf Wed gone before I could have 2nds! I'm telling you, something funny is happening when I can bake! :)

From RAD on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 13:14:29 from 98.202.23.178

This is the bread:

And these the paninis:

Seriously EASY and good! My kids (and hubby) even ate the 'lettuce' (read: spinach, but you think I'm gonna tell them that?!?) on the sandwiches.
