Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Hit the gym for step class and the TM...too lazy to get up and run with Lucy, poor girl is suffering from my laziness - guilt is adding daily!

Step class started slow because of my horribly sore quads, but once I got warmed up things were better. Then went to the TM to do just 3, but I hit the stupid emergency stop on the TM with .2 to go! So, I got it back up and running to finish, but couldn't leave the TM showing only .2 - I do have my pride! So, I stuck it out for another mile and went over nursery time :)

Starting the run was hard (easy 9:34 pace to start didn't feel easy!), but I would up the speed just one notch at the beginning and end of each commercial so I finished at 8:30 mm. Total time I think put my AP around 9:10 or so. Quads aren't being friendly today, but getting them moving again was the best thing!

Volleyball tonight, a new league! YEA!! This one is only 5 weeks though. I'm not sure if I'll start again after the holidays. Being gone Monday evening is taking a toll on the family :(

*if you didn't get a chance check out the fun we had Saturday...pics are up!*

I found last week that starting out at my 'easy' pace on the treadmill felt harder than it does outside, but it felt better after I had been going a little. Upping the speed at the commercials is a good idea.

You are addicted to volleyball, I think.

No Carolyn, she is addicted to RUNNING!!! Good job getting out there today. I am still not sure if I am ready to be brave and TRY to run. I really have not felt this bad for years. What are you planning to do on Saturday as far as long runs?

That too, Bec, but we're probably ALL addicted to running!

Carolyn, I'm addicted to any physical activity :) Volleyball is almost as good as running and better in some ways. I do work up a descent sweat though!!

Becca, I'm thinking an easy 16 (like 9mm pace) Saturday in Lehi around 8. I don't have to wake up early for anything, so I don't want to!

I am in!!!! I might do a few extra miles before, but that sounds delightful. I hope your Volley game went well Creepy.

Bec, I forgot about a 'puppy run' that I wanted to do and didn't realize it was this Saturday! I'll be up a Wheeler Farm, it starts at 9. So, I think I'll do 10 before and then do the 5K loop twice. Want to come to my hood and take a fun spin around the hills?
