Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Had a good fast run with the BBKers this morning!! It felt good to get a warm up then push it hard. I was actually suprised at how comfortable the 'fast' pace felt after the first speed mile. After a 3.5 mile warm-up we did some glute kicks :) high knees and sprints to get ready for the 3 mile repeats. After the 3 mile repeats we did 2 400 meter sprints. I have no idea how fast those were, I need to learn how to 'lap' the watch or whatever to figure those things out! One time I glanced at my watch and it was a 6:22 pace...not too shabby :)

AP: 8:19 - warm-up: 8:48, 9:05, 8:48, 9:17 1st repeat: 7:33 2nd: 7:37 3rd: 7:48 last mile(400's and cool-down): 7:36

I usually end up at the gym for weights afterward on Tuesday, but I'm passing today.

Tomorrow I'll do just a few and kick-boxing easy...ahhh, it feels good to taper, I just wish I could 'taper' my eating as well :)

From RAD on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 12:32:17 from 67.166.99.8

well, who knows how long that 6:22 was for! That was a one time glance...it could've been A LOT slower overall :)

Thanks Bec, but you are the speedy one - just get that leg better!!

Great run! Don't forget to REALLY take it easy for the rest of the week. REALLY easy :) You want all the juice in those long fabulous legs :)

Thanks Marion! Today was my push day now I'm down for the count :) No more pushing, just glycogen building. I think I'm taking in enough 'carbs' to fill them in 5 minutes :)

Wow! You're FAST. You should be peaking which means you need to taper down the miles. You want to have fresh legs and totally recharge come Sat. morning. Weather should be good. You will do AWESOME!!!

From RAD on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 18:04:21 from 67.166.99.8

Thanks Smooth! I'm excited, but really bummed you won't be there; however, I know its for the best!! I definately am on my way down now and will do 5K slow tomorrow (to get Lucy out) then a slow 4-6 with BBK's Thursday then I'm done until the big day!!!

You should keep running and riding your bike longer since you have too much spare time and have to hassle your poor broken sister who doesn't know how to blog.

I am glad you had us do that second 400 today. That just topped off a great day at the track.

Taper your eating....It's so hard to when you've been training like a mad-woman. I always gain like 5 pounds during the taper. Don't let it freak you out. Keep your tiger in the box the rest of this week, and trust me all those extra calories and energy are going to pull you right through miles 20-26.2! Good luck!
