Here is my signature run for the year. I've run the Chosen Half Marathon for Adoption 8 years in a row. Mostly placing 1st in my age division but this year I got blown away! The guy that won my age group (55-59) ran a 1:27. The race conditions were perfect with about 45 degrees at the beginning and 60 degrees at the end. Low humidity and no wind. I don't feel like I was prepared for this race as my training has been inconsistent and I haven't run many fast miles but with all that said I got through it fairly well and had some kick at the end. My heart monitor quit working after mile 3 so I ran most of the race only by feel. I believe I could have run a couple of minutes faster but I don't know how hard to push without monitoring my HR.

Lots of reasons the times are all over the place. Heat, training, foot operations and the last three years has been a point to point race.
All in all, this is a very fun race running along the Guadalupe River in Gruene Texas.
