Continuing by goal to get back to marathon fitness. Not a good time of year to start but now is better than later. Right now I am focussed on steadly increasing the mileage but not worring about the speed. My right foot/toe is doing okay, not really sore but still feels swolen or probably just scar tissue all around the joint. It looks deformed and the toe doesn't really work - it just hangs there letting all the other toes do all the work. The right foot is okay with only the normal/slight pressure at the same joint location on the bottom of my foot. I'm still planning to have the surgery on the left foot but hoping to run a marathon before I do that. I'm thinking about running the Rock-N-Roll on December 4th this year and then having the surgery done right after that. This way, qualify for Boston, get my left foot fixed, and get back to training in the early spring.
