Short Tempo Run today. The nasty weather is back. I'm glad I wasn't running a long run today as the Temperature was 75 with a Dewpoint of 72 and 88% Humidity and Foggy.

I am 9 weeks out from my marathon and still hoping for some cooler weather to train in. I lost 3 pounds on the short run. I was sweating like crazy! I had big plans to run 4 tempo miles when I started but after two I knew I couldn't do it. I ran the flattest part of my route, the first half is slightly downhill, the second is slightly uphill. (total elevation gain is about 200')

Comparing this to the last time I ran the same run I ran it 8 seconds per mile faster but my HR was 8 BPM faster Avg. The temperature was only 35 degrees last time I ran this tempo run. I did push my HR to 182, pretty much the highest I've ever gotten it.

Mile Time HR HR % MAX HR
2 8:46 Pace 130
1 6:32:00 154 82%
2 6:36:00 170 93%
3 6:41:00 178 98% 182
2 Slow-Cool Down
Total 19:49:00 167 91%
Pace 6:36:20 (Tempo Miles) WT
Temp 75 Humidity 88 157
Dew Point 72 Wind 0 154
Target: Tempo Run - 2 Easy, 3 Miles @ 6:45 pace, 1 Miles Easy. Ran Small Loop. (-46,+14,+47)

Great looking splits. You will definitely get good training weather if your marathon is that far out.

3 sub 7 minute miles is nice work! You lost 1 pound per mile? Crazy.

From I Just Run on Fri, Sep 27, 2013 at 08:19:21 from 67.79.11.242

Seems I should have gotten faster with each mile of weight loss! :-)

Wow, nice run today. Way to keep those paces going during a hot & humid run. We had a cold front come through a couple days ago, so yesterday's high was 48 (it's 40 right now). We'll be back to 70s by Sunday, but woulda been a nice few days for a marathon. Hopefully some of these colder temps will head your way.

Wait a minute guys, of the friends I list on my blog, every one is ahead of me in mileage except for the the ones who are not blogging consistantly. I'm the low mileage guy here!

My next few days will be interesting, I'm out of town Saturday, then Monday-Thursday (West Palm Beach Fl), then Thursday-Friday (Chattanooga Tn). My running is going to be reduced to TM miles when I can squeeze them in. :-(

From derhammer on Fri, Sep 27, 2013 at 11:04:40 from 64.245.52.2

Nice splits nonetheless! With the weather your equivalent effort pace was probably 6:25's.

I guess following the RLRF plan would make you the low mileage guy. :-)

You have officially been replaced as the low mileage guy on your blog ... feel better? Your welcome! Passing through Atlanta on your travels?

Nice splits, way to go. Still positive when it gets cooler the results will be there.

From seeaprilrun on Sun, Sep 29, 2013 at 13:16:35 from 68.102.189.33

Heat and humidity is brutal, great push on the tempo miles. You have tons of time to dial in when the weather cools down!

From Yasir on Sun, Sep 29, 2013 at 17:29:14 from 99.20.241.125

Please feel free to advice about tapering. I averaged 78 mile a week the last 4 weeks my race is on October 20 the IMT Marathon in Des moines Iowa
