Ran this race with Callie. It was my first longer distance race since before COVID over two years ago and Callie's first post pregnancy race. We had a great time just running it relaxed and at a slower pace. The weather was somewhat humid and about 70 degrees. We had a great time running this race the second time together. Nothing better than running with your daughter! Love it! Love Life! and Love God!

8:44 Pace (negative splits and a fast finish)

Good to hear from you my long time running friend ! I will following you to keep my running mojo up to speed. Speed, which I have none of anymore! But I will keep trying. When I get to the Surf City USA Marathon on February 5th 2023, which is my birthday, I will be 72 years of age. Wow, I really am a short, fat, slow, tired old man! At least I’m still out there dragging my tired old man down the road.

Hey Tom,

I ran the Surf City Half with Callie in '20. Good luck on your training... stay strong! I'm planning on Las Cruces Marathon in mid January. Our (Callie &me) plan is for me to run slow enough to stay with Callie but fast enough to qualify for Boston. My goal would normally be about 3:25 but I think her pace (post baby recovery) will be more like 3:50 which is my actual qualifying time. We were both qualified and entered in Boston '20 ... But as you know COVID screwed up everything.
