Well today I tried to run. It is still painful...! I  went ahead and ran 2 miles. My hip really hurt throughout the first mile but finally was bearable on the second.

This evening I rode my bike again. I don't get any pain at all when I ride the bike. I don't really know what to expect from the biking (speed, distance, etc.) but it seemed pretty good. I do know that it's sure working some different muscles than running :-) We'll see how sore I am after a few days of this. It was really hot when I biked (100 degrees) but I've figured out quickly that you can bear much more heat when riding a bike than running. There's always a breeze...

Does anyone know if you can change your Blog Profile to add the Biking. I think when I set up my Blog that was an option but now I can't figure out how to add it...?

If you want a Bible Verse that will really make your scratch your head, here it is...

Ezekiel 1:15-21

15 As I looked at the creatures, suddenly there was a wheel on the earth corresponding to all four faces of the creatures. 16 The appearance and composition of the wheels were like sparkling topaz. There was one shape for all four of them, as if one wheel were inside another. 17 When they moved in any of the four directions, they moved without swerving. 18 Their rims were tall and terrifying, because all four of them were filled with eyes all around. 19 When the creatures moved, the wheels moved next to them. Whenever the creatures rose above the earth, the wheels also rose up. 20 Wherever the wind would appear to go, the wind would make them go there too. The wheels rose up beside them, because the spirit of the creatures was in the wheels. 21 When they moved, the wheels[c] moved; when they stood still, the wheels stood still; and when they rose above the earth, the wheels rose up along with them, because the spirit of the creatures was in the wheels.

I am a novice biker, but I can tell you 18 mph is really cruising along nicely, nice effort! Keep it up, hopefully your running days will return to normal soon ... but don't push it until you are pain free! When I pedal fast I envision a faster running turnover ... helps me mentally reenforce that I am becoming a faster runner even if I am not actually running! :)

So sad to hear that it is still hurting you to run! How did the roping go? You haven't posted. Maybe I need to go back and look. I don't like looking on FRB with a phone! Keep up on your biking. I should email u my bursitis exercises. I still can't believe it took the pain away!

From I Just Run on Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 18:11:24 from 67.79.11.242

Hey Steam...Hope you are doing better...?

My roping report is on Saturday's blog. I didn't get into the pay window but I was pleased with my performance.

I would really like your bursitis exercises. Was your bursitis in your hip?

From Steam8 on Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 18:18:22 from 174.253.165.67

Yep. Hurt for 8 months. I'll send them to u when I get home. Glad you did well on your roping. I thought of you on my run out in the country today. I saw a bull and luckily it wasn't on the road, it was behind a fence!

From Dave S on Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 18:44:13 from 4.254.223.232

Glad you're able to ride pain free. Keep it up. I have also found that it is more comfortable to ride in the heat than it is to run.

If you go to the discussion forum and go back through the posts under support there is a thread that will tell you how to change your running mileage categories.

I have never tried roping but in watching it and talking to friends that have done it, it appears there are so many variables that there are no guarantees no matter how good you are. Sounds like you did pretty good.

Nice...ride! I think that is what they say? Hope the running pain starts to subside for you though.

From Dan on Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 22:28:53 from 24.209.83.20

Good workout. I still pray that pain will lessen and you will heal. By the way- Ezekiel rocks. Those verses are very cool- I really enjoy chapter 9 were the one Cherub writes on the foreheads for those to be spared. Sorry for the ramble :)
