Dang...I wish my knee would quit hurting. If it would I'd feel okay about my running righ now. The sorness is still the same (no worse except about mid-day when it seems to hurt the worse and then back to normal "pain" the rest of the time). My energy level is back to normal and my feet and ankles aren't bothering me any more. Wow...I sound like I'm falling apart! Anyway, they did have the AC on at the Gym this morning (I think about 75 degrees). I wanted to run a little faster this morning but the new treadmills are set at 7:30 pace maximum. I've got to find another gym! As you can see the first was a warm-up mile and then went to max for the rest of the run.

Hey Steam...Here's your scripture for the day :-)

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Wow, that's pretty lame of them to set up the TMs like that. When I had to run on gym treadmills last summer, I looked up the owner's manual online and figured out how to manipulate it in the manager's configuration to get around their time limits. You might be able to do the same for the speed limits. Nice run today!

Thanks for my scripture. :) I love it! I had such a busy day yesterday and when I finally got to bed it was late. I was so tired and I realized I hadn't read! I flipped the light back on and read!

I wish I could max out the tread and dread! You are in great shape right now! I hope you knee starts getting better! I have a had a few things that really worried me for a while and they eventually got better. I am hoping it is just one of those things that will get better on its own.

Wow - never heard of them setting a default like that. Will they change it if you ask? I would me more inclined to follow Joe's example. :-)

Ha ha...I asked the guy who manages the gym the other day if the owner would consider increasing the speed on at least one of the treadmills. This moring I asked again and he said the ower said "absolutly not!". He the told me that someone had actually reprogrammed one of the treadmills to make it go faster and when the owner found out he was furious. I just need to find another gym!

Hey Steam,

You're welcome :-) My knee isn't really getting worse so my philosophy is to continue with, what I consider moderate, running until something changes. Either it gets better or it gets worse and then I'll adjust.

IJR - Do you ever ice your knee? I wouldn't know because you ignored me the last time I asked you that! lol Anyway, I think that is the best thing you could be doing. A couple years ago, my brother told me about an awesome icing solution, which I got & love ... makes the process very easy! I bought the 'medium size', which is perfect for icing knee & Achilles ... I would recommend two cold-packs & one neoprene sleeve ... that way you can alternate cold cold packs, as they lose their effectiveness after about 20 minutes (which is the longest you should ice for anyway!

Highly recommended! check it out:

Ha ha...You know how it is with us celebrity types, we get so much fan mail and so many blog questions we just can't answer the all :-) but for you Ill answer. On the other knee I iced it every day for a couple of weeks, several times a day. This was before I knew it was a bone spur. After I found out what it was I got frustrated and quit because it really didn't seem to help. I think I have convinced myself that this time it's a bone spur again (in the other knee) so I haven't really though about icing it. Thanks for the suggestion I'm going to ice it now. I have bags and ice here at work. That cold wrap thing looks pretty good, I think I'll get one!

I say it's worthwhile making the manager furious before you switch to the other gym.

From Dan on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 21:23:37 from 24.209.83.20

Here! Here! (to making the manager furious) You could always max out the incline- that would simulate faster running.

By the way- that scripture is always fascinating. See separating the joints (bone) from the marrow- is something that even with our technology cannot be done (even our best microscopes cannot be 100% where one starts and the other begins- kinda cool).
