Well, you DID just run a full marathon...
For me, endurance for longer distance runs had a lot to do with how many miles/week I ran. At 30-40 miles/week I'd start to crash soon after 13 or 14. At 50/week I could make it to 18-20, but still bonked a marathon. At 60/week I could run a marathon at a somewhat consistent pace. I'm sure you will find what works for you, you just need it to all come together one day!

Your body has no business running 20 miles so soon after a marathon ... and doing so provided little or no benefit to you ... just my humble opinion.

I know if I ran a 20 miler only 11 days after racing marathon, I would feel aweful!
Right now, the purpose of your runs should be recovery. You can't force fitness! Your body will recover and adapt, at its own rate, from the stupid things you do to it. Let it heal, don't make it heal.

Thanks guys for the advice but I had a ulterior motive in running 20 today. You'll have to go to my Friday entry to see what that is.
Joe,
Those numbers make scenes. My problem is when I run 50+ miles per week consistently I seem to start having physical problems. I'm thinking about modifying the RLRF program for me and stick in a few really long runs but make them really, really slow. My body just needs to get used to being on its feet for 3+ hours.
