3 miles @ 4:45 pace before I was off to OKC. It was 68 degrees...hot and sweaty after only three miles :-( Now I'm concerned about the heat during the race. It is supposed to be 64 degrees at the start.

Don't get nervous! You are going to cruise down that road like it is nothing! You have trained and are in amazing shape! I hope I can track you somehow! Best of luck! Hoping for a chilly start!

Okay. I'll download it on my phone and be cheering for you at church! ha! I hope I don't cheer out too loud! Actually....I don't think I'll be at church tomorrow. I will be laying on my bed with my leg propped up, so I will be cheering as loud as I want! Good luck IJR!!!!

With the warmer temps tomorrow, just make sure you don't go out too fast, and that you drink gatorade at every water station.

From derhammer on Sat, Apr 28, 2012 at 11:43:35 from 70.113.125.159

Stick to your plan! Pace the first few miles on the easy side to conserve energy. We all get nervous the day before. Channel the nervous energy into your run.

From Dan on Sat, Apr 28, 2012 at 14:05:26 from 24.209.83.20

Nerves will calm when the race starts... Listen to the hammer, go out conservative, you legs will be there, enjoy it!

Less than a minute! You know better conditions and you nail it. Still a strong race!!

From I Just Run on Sun, Apr 29, 2012 at 11:49:18 from 166.205.9.247

I really wasn't feeling it today.

From flatlander on Sun, Apr 29, 2012 at 11:50:45 from 76.31.26.153

Very strong, looking forward to the report. It was about as hot there as here, amazing.

From Dan on Sun, Apr 29, 2012 at 12:02:19 from 24.209.83.20

That's even more impressive then, you know how much better it will be when you are feeling it! Looking forward to the whole report.

Great run in tough conditions Preston!

See you in Boston!! :)

From SlowJoe on Sun, Apr 29, 2012 at 16:53:39 from 69.131.141.92

The stretch from 21-24 on that course is brutal, I don't see how anyone could stay on pace. Preston, it was nice to meet you, and I'm kinda with JG...you are meant to be at Boston with your speed.

From Steam8 on Sun, Apr 29, 2012 at 16:58:30 from 166.70.55.77

Come and run in Utah where the marathons are cool and downhill. I didn't follow this morning because I have been too sick and in pain. I got on earlier to see how you and SlowJoe did....I can't imagine how you feel with only a minute from BQing. I just have been aching for you all day. The heat can really make you run so much slower. I am so sorry! Come run in Utah! You will BQ for sure!
