I decided to bail on my 6-8 mile run today. I didn't get home until after midnight and figured I really didn't have anything to gain (except maybe a little confidence). But I really think I'm as good as I'm going to be (thanks JG for the good advice).

The weather report now says it will be 62 degrees at the start of the race (yesterday it said 48 degrees). I'm thinking if the temperature doesn't rise very quickly everything will be good.

My race bib number is 284 but I don't know how to tell you to track me in the race. I can't find out if it's possible in this race. I believe it was last year.

My plan is to run 2-3 mile tomorrow, just to stretch my legs and that will be all until Sunday.

Good luck, sir. I will be rooting for you!

Same here, you will get a good time regardless of the weather.

From SlowJoe on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 12:04:15 from 155.219.241.10

You are definitely ready. I think there is a good shot we will (barely) stay out of the 70s for the whole race. Hopefully those predicted rain clouds will stick around for the 2nd half.

I think the only way to track is if you have an iphone or android, and download the app (http://www.phase2online.com/iphone/memorial-marathon/)

From DLTheo on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 14:16:38 from 155.130.107.41

Have a great race! I'll be thinking about you while I wait for my race to start, 2 hours after yours.

From JG on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 18:05:08 from 71.57.246.108

Thanks Joe, I installed the app ... what is your bib number? 259?? :)

From SlowJoe on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 18:40:57 from 69.131.141.92

JG - 259 would be sweet! Mine is 420 though. If I run a 4:20, I'll know why....

DLTheo - good luck in Eugene!

Wishing you a grand race Preston! Have confidence! You'll do great.

Awesome, I will be rooting for you too! Thanks for the tip joe!

I got the android app and it shows your time from last year. Hopefully it will update when the race starts.

From I Just Run on Fri, Apr 27, 2012 at 08:15:37 from 67.79.11.242

Thanks Guys, ...Just hope it's at least 16 seconds faster than my last marathon!

Now the weather show 59 at the start. I'm not sure what effect that will have but it seem okay to me :-)

I looked at the App and it seems it's for 2011 and not 2012. I sent the an e-mail to the maratahon asking about tracking but haven't heard back. It doesn't seem promising that they have something in place.

RT,

Can you delete the app off your phone, I don't want you thinking I ran that slow this year!

From flatlander on Fri, Apr 27, 2012 at 08:22:15 from 198.207.244.102

This time of year that temperature could be 64 or 54, which are very different. Still, you like warm weather and should do well even if the temps are in the 60s. Pray for clouds though.

From JG on Fri, Apr 27, 2012 at 08:32:36 from 71.57.246.108

The android app I downloaded pulled up both Preston & Joe with thete bib numbers & shows mo splits yet, so I think it should work, obviously they have the runner database loaded. The info link also shows this years date/start time.

Perhaps you downloaded last years Ap Trap, of course, you will be focusing on your own journey Sunday morning anyway! :)

For those of us who still use dumb phones, is there a laptop version of this tracker?

From Steam8 on Fri, Apr 27, 2012 at 18:39:08 from 166.70.55.77

Your race is on Sunday?? I am feeling excited/and nervous! OHHHH!!!! I hope it ends up being a great run day and everything aligns just right! Best of luck!!!!

From Dan on Fri, Apr 27, 2012 at 20:22:00 from 24.209.83.20
