Short-Term Running Goals:

This year I am looking to race a bit more and hope to improve. I have started to train a bit differently using a more well rounded program. Including tempo and speed work (which up to this point I have slacked off on) Would like to be somewhere near the top of my A.G. it makes racing more fun. Also helping motivate people to become more active and enjoy getting out and enjoying all life has to offer.

Long-Term Running Goals:

have not really set long term goals just love the great benefits physically as well as mentally that have come with running and look to continue to grow and improve

Personal:

Married to an amazing woman who I get to enjoy living and loving life for all its worth. From our urban farm to exploring the backcountry. I have 2 boys who are about grown. My passion for running has not diminished over the years just evolved into an integral part of life like it always has been but a little different. Lucky for me Tiff puts up with my running obsession and doesn't complain too much.

what an amazing day from the start of the race concentrating and reminding myself to run my own race and not pick up someone elses pace started at a good comfortable pace just as i had trained for saw mike laputka at mile 2 going great and from there just fell into my zone mind and body relaxed and flowing focused on keeping a constant rythm and staying strong reaching the half way at 1:40 which is very close to my time for the half last year did not feel i was going too fast but very pleased with the half split at the 19 mile aid station had to take a potty break and it took the next mile and half to get back into stride feeling like i was dragging at mile 22 but pushing through to keep running and not walk was sure miles 25 and 26 were on sheer will power my legs and body all but spent willing my tired self to keep running finally crossing the finish line at 3:24 so elated to have gone out and stuck to my plan and the training and hard work rewards paying dividends of a BOSTON QUALIFYING TIME TOO once I was able to see the official results it was so gratifying and looking down the list was pleased to see that Mike had also made the cut as well GREAT JOB!!!

Paul, way to go! Damn, you are fast. We went 4th and 6th, I am happy for both of us. 3:24 with a pit stop, wow! You've got to feel great about a 4th place finish. I know I was surprised with 6th. Did you run this without watch? I can't tell you how much this drives me nuts. I quickly lost sight of you after you passed me, I am very happy I did not see you again, I knew you had to have run a great race. How about the mile 25? It was a mountain! You're fist marathon and you BQ'd, wow, that's very impressive. When we enter a race together, it's obvious I'm competing for 2nd place at best. I couldn't lose to a finer person. I'm looking forward to seeing you again soon.
