Personal:

Have been active my whole life, but turned my focus to running in 2006 after deciding to run a marathon.  I really enjoy the training aspect and staying healthy, but mileage has been on the decline over the past 3 years due to work commitments, so focus has turned away from races and more on just staying fit enough to still enjoy getting out.  Moved from Utah to Texas in October 2016 with my wife and 3 month old babe.

AM

Decent run today.  My legs feel a little better, but still pretty flat, so started slow and went with how I was feeling.  I want to do a semi-long run in the middle of each week leading up to the marathon, so that's the reason for today's distance.  Looking back, last week was just a lot of mileage/tough terrain/faster miles and that's why I feel beat this week.  I had hoped I could handle it and still feel fine this week, but that didn't happen.  All part of trying new things I guess.

Ran 100S to the farm roads, turned around @ River Rd and took 40 to Center St.  Then up to 1200E and down 600S and over to 100S to finish.  I'm liking the eastern part of 40.

That's a lot of miles for a Wednesday. Nice job.

You've been cranking out the miles lately (great job!). They'll pay off later but I'm sure your body is just feeling the effects of them at the moment.

Thanks guys! I think the higher mileage @ slower pace will be better then lower mileage and faster running to get ready for the marathon. I feel a little rough right now, but things will get better and my cardio feels better than it ever has.

What a great mid week run!
