Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Decided to take the day off today. My right achilles got a bit sore during yesterday's run, and is still sore today. Not worth it to take chances, so will lay off until Saturday.

Travel day out to Houston. My achilles is feeling quite a bit better, after rest, stretching and massaging.

Crewed for and paced Jon in the Rocky 100 today. I'm not going to steal any of Jon's thunder regarding the race, so won't talk about that much. Cody and I explored some of the trails during some down-time in the mid-morning, and did about 4 miles. Then I paced Jon for 20 miles, for his Mile 60-80 during the race. My pacing duties started around 4PM, and ended around 8PM, so about half was in the dark. It was quite fun, more for me than for Jon. Even though it was "only" 20 miles, I was still pretty tired from the end, probably more from being on my feet for 4 hours than from the pace. Plus, it was my longest run since Top of Utah last September. I liked the trails out there. Rolling hills, but nothing long.
