Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Ran with Cody this morning. We discussed it, and we're pretty sure we haven't ran together since February or March. So we were due. We ran from my house and up Smithfield Canyon and back. 15 miles total. Kept it pretty easy for the most part, until the downhill, where Cody started getting frisky, and we did a couple sub-6s. Ended up averaged 6:58/mile. Felt okay, but not great. But since my race isn't for another week, I don't necessary want to feel great yet. Have a 90-minute massage later this afternoon. The hay is in the barn.

Looking good! I love that expression, keep the barn door closed then let it open up wide next weekend!!

Ok, so I was bored and went and looked. On April 10, Cody, Paul, Carson, and myself ran 20 miles together. Since then, I have run 27 times with Cody totaling almost 500 miles, while I have run 2 times with Paul totaling 29.5 miles.

For the record, I think this is the 4th time you and Cody ran together this year- today, April 10, Feb 6 (in Texas), and Jan 16. That's a lot less than last year when you lived near us.

For the year, I ran 5 times with you for 77.5 miles, and 33 times with Cody for 573 miles (minus a few during races where we were apart). You and Cody ran together 4 times for 47 miles (so far).

Yes, I was bored.

Jon - so how many hours is that with you this year? That is just wrong!

From Cody on Sat, Oct 30, 2010 at 15:52:16 from 174.52.244.185

Oh, and thanks for the run Paul, it was way more fun than running with Jon!

From Jon on Sat, Oct 30, 2010 at 17:18:34 from 98.71.130.239

Boy, Cody, you sure are being nice to me. First you talk about how much you enjoyed not being "forced" to run 12 min miles up a mountain, then you mention how much more you enjoy Paul. That's it, I'm not running with you ever again! Or at least for a while.

From Jon on Sat, Oct 30, 2010 at 17:21:47 from 98.71.130.239

Cody- assuming 9 min miles, that would be about 86 hours. 11 min miles would be 105 hours. Add in driving, plus pacing, time spent in Texas, bathroom time... probably about a month. More time than we spent with our wives.

I am sorry jon, you know I miss you badly! Please come back!
