Endure and persist; this pain will turn to your good. - Ovid

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. - Romans 5:1-5

Woof. Glad that one is done. I did a long run this morning. It was already pretty warm by the time I started, which didn't help, but it could have been worse too. Definitely looking forward to fall weather. I intended to begin the run with 6x1600m @ LT, and then cruise the rest of it, but after one mile on the Skyview track in 5:20, I decided that my legs felt like lead, and I wouldn't meet the goal of the workout, so why bother. So I bagged it and did my remainder of my long run at a steady but unspectacular pace, mile splits ranged from 6:00 to 6:30, and they were pretty consistent. Ran all over the countryside, kind of a farmland tour of northern Cache Valley. I did get pretty tired at the end, but still pushed it in pretty well, keeping the last few miles in the low-6s. 22 miles total, 2:22-ish. 6:22/mile average pace. 95 miles for the week, a high for this year (highest since Sept 2007).

There is another Paul Petersen in Utah. I see his race results occasionally. There is also a Pete Petersen.

Michelle - are you running the TOU 1/2? I saw your name on the entry list...

Yeah I am! I am excited, but first I need to clear up this attack of the runs I am having. Are you doing it? Who's my competition (if you've seen the list :D)?

From Paul on Wed, Aug 25, 2010 at 11:12:24 from 65.103.252.214

Yes, I am running it, as long as our baby isn't born that morning or anything (we are hour-to-hour at this point). It's a good race, you'll like it.

Start list is here:

Just scanning through, it looks like you'll have to deal with Mary Ann S., Carol Rowe, and Emily Jameson. And whoever else.
