I was thought I was excited to run this race and ready to preform close to last years time.  I thought I did everything well, eating, sleeping etc...  I had a .7 mile warm up and was ready to go.  For some reason last week on my 5K I didn't have that mental toughness and the fighting desire.  This week not to many miles into the run I could tell I didn't have it again.  It's like I'm missing my normal fight/desire.  Chemical imbalance?  Depressed?  Maybe I needed to watch Rocky or something before the race.

The race started off with the temp about 59' according to the car.  I don't think it warmed up at all during the race.  The wind was a blowing pretty good. but not enough to effect the race as much as my time comparing to last year.

After the first mile I was in 11th place.  After 2nd mile I was in 9th.  I moved to 8th and 7th and 6th during miles 3-11.  Then I got passed during mile 12.  My left quad started showing signs of cramping up with about 1.5 to go but not a problem because not enough miles left for it to cramp up hard.  I had 3 guys in my site in front of me the last 2 miles and didn't have the desire to get them???  My last years time would have got me a 3rd place.

That's an awesome race, especially with your lack of mental drive. Congrats on your A.G. win. I suppose you'll cash in your free entry next year?!

Terry you still had a pretty dandy race even with the off day mentally. I've been trying to figure out for years what makes for a great vs not-so-great race and I still have no clue. Congrats on still getting the 1st AD now just take it easy for a few weeks and I'm sure the mojo will come back!

Terry,

I feel your disappointment, but it was a good race at the end of the season.

Congratulations on the 7th position overall and on the AG win!!!

Congrats on the race. Sorry about the mental struggle. I can understand that, sometimes its hard when you're mind just isn't in it. You ran really well despite not having your normal fire.
