I've had stomach problems all week and I this morning I could still feel a little unrest in my stomach but luckily it didn't come into play during the run.  I decided to push Kenna in our jogging stroller to give some other runners a chance.

A Bingham High cross country runner showed up and a returned missionary that just got off his mission that has a running scholarship to BYU showed up.    I didn't realize that I would actually have a race or I might not have decided to push my daughter.  I stayed with the two good runners until a very steep hill.  By the time I got to the top of the hill they had gained 20 seconds on me.  They both ended up beating me by about 20 seconds with the College RM just winning by 5 or 10 yards.  I got a 19:15.  I think I left a little in the tank on worries of my stomach and concerns about Kenna in the stroller.

Terry when I first saw the 19:15 I was going to put my coach hat on a scold you or trash talk a little but since you had the stroller I guess I'll have to cut you some slack. Nice of you to give those other 2 guys a chance to get the gold and silver.

Way to go, Terry! That's really cool that you could run sub 20 with a stroller and win third place on top of that.

How old is your daughter, how much does she weigh, were the tires properly inflated, and how hilly exactly was the course (can you map it out with the Course Tool?). And what was the name of the return missionary?

My Daughter is two and probably weighs 25? the tires were properly inflated. I tried the Course tool and it didn't seem to be working for me. However, The course is mostly flat except for one hill. It starts at 4700 elevation and at the bottom of the hill it is 4730 and at the top of the hill it is 4810. The course then comes off the hill and hits a low point about 3/4 a mile from the finish at 4675.

I'll have to try the course tool again later and see if I can get it to work.

The BYU runner is a sprinter and I think he usually runs the 400M. His name is Kevin Beisinger.

I would guess the stroller then would cost you about 15 seconds a mile.

I think proper balance is key to a happy life. I think you did an excellent job of balancing between being a good father and a good runner. Well done.

That must have been quite an exciting ride for Kenna. And I'll bet those young runners felt quite a bit of pressure to beat the old guy pushing the stroller. That would have been fun to watch.
