Morning run, windy, temp 60'

Nice to wear shorts and short sleeve shirt on a morning run.  I love milk for breakfast and we had been out since Sunday.  I didn't get my milk on Monday and I forgot to pick some up on my way home from work so I decided to take a few bucks with me and buy 2 gallons so I wouldn't have to go two mornings without milk.  The store is just over a mile from my home.  So I ran 6 miles then stopped into the store and got the milk.  I didn't realize it but 2 gallons of milk starts getting pretty heavy when your running.  By the time I got home my shoulders were aching pretty good.  I don't think I'll do that again anytime soon.  It is a good way to simulate the last few miles of a marathon when everything is hurting and you just wish you were done.  Anyway I ran an 8:12 mile with the milk jugs.

How funny Terry! I'll bet there were some people thinking you are a crazy guy! (which you kind of are!) I think you need to do that next winter one time in terrible weather just for the stares! Glad you got your milk today, I know how you love your milk and your breakfast!

Yeah Terry maybe I'll have to see if I can incorporate a few "milk jug" runs into the training regiment. Kind of gives new meaning to the term "milk shake" :)

If you put the Milk Jug mile in your training it will get you mentally tuff and it makes you so happy to not be carrying the darn things that your normal runs seem much better.
