An hour of swimming. I went and got an MRI today, and it turns out I have a stress fracture in my tibia, and a partially torn soleus. The stress fracture does not really hurt, but the soleus injury really feels bad. This will take a long time to heal, so I will swim for a while and hope for the best. I don't quite know what to say, but I have definitely realized that I am a fragile runner. I need to really pay attention to small details (strength building etc...) to stay healthy, and I will learn from the training mistakes I have made. Well, I will probably start from scratch when I come back, but I will keep a positive attitude! This could be a while.

Sorry to hear this. I have been following your blog for a while, and admire your fortitude, courage, enthusiasm, and running talent. Living in Edge City definitely has its risks....

I am so sorry to hear of this. The good thing is you are young and have many years to get to where you were and then beyond, to reach your potential.

The risk of being an elite runner... get better soon. And as Wetmore says, don't put on weight while you're down.
