Today may just have been one of my best workouts ever! I was assigned the big boy group again :), consisting of 5x1500 meters in 4:27 (4:44ish mile pace), with 500 meters of rest (usually 2:00 mins). We did the workout on the football practice fields at 6:30 am, so it was nice and cool - no worrying about heat! The first one hurt, mainly since it was a "shock" to hit that pace for a sustained time, but after this, I just got in a groove and cruised. The fastest I hit was 4:26, while the slowest I hit was 4:29. As far as "hurt" is concerned, it felt the exact same as our last 1500 workout (where I did 4:34's to 4:35's on average), so I am making some improvements! Most importantly, I am pleased to be feeling well after last week. This weekend we have a race, so I am going to rest up for the next three days. Feelin' good! |
