Let's speak metaphorically, shall we? Suppose that I'm in a stage race, comprised of three stages (I believe the FRB's own Kelsey recently ran and won a similar stage race...). After the first stage, all but a few runners were eliminated, and now I have learned from the race director that after the second stage, the race is down to two runners, and I've got a narrow lead going into the third stage, so y'all keep your fingers crossed that the race committe doesn't find some reason to DQ me.
