Did 9 on the Bartram trail with Peter, finishing up at around 11:30 PM.  Good night run to reacquaint me with running trail in the dark, and good company to ease my mind with regard to the night portion of Pinhoti, which will definitely prove to be the most challenging aspect of the race.

Do you ever get scared that an animal will jump out of the woods and like eat you? I don't know if I could ever run completely in the dark even on the backroads instead of a trail - - I get a little skeeved out by weird night noises.

It is a little eerie when your entire world is encapsulated in the little orb of light coming from your headlamp, and I did notice (heard) several animals just out of view in the darkness, and even though I know that they are probably just deer, it is a little creepy. Fortunately, by the time the night portion of the race rolls around, I'll have a pacer with me, and having someone to run with eases the tension a little
