I would like to say this was an easy run. I wanted to do 5, but my legs are heavy and sluggish. Maybe 34 miles last week was a little much. I don't know. I would really like to keep my mileage up, but I learned along time ago to listen to my body. Rest tomorrow and maybe X train on Friday. I plan to do 11 on Saturday. I am a little frustrated.

It's tough to listen to your body, but I think you did the right thing stopping early. I am trying to be better at taking rest/easy days especially when I am feeling tired. Maybe your caloric intake isn't sufficient? Or maybe you are low on some necessary vitamin/mineral? Perhaps, you just need more sleep to make up for increased mileage.. I know I certainly do! Good luck on the long run this weekend. I need to do one too.. Golden Gate is coming up and I don't feel that I am in that good of shape. Yikes!

You could be right on the calories. I don't eat as good as I should. That has always been one of my negatives. I am a picky eater and I love chocolate. My husband teases me that it is a food group.

I am fired up about the Golden Gate. I am getting a little nervous about the altitude, but running in the mountains is going to be so fun and different.
