Personal:

Married with 2 lively boys. I love running and I love getting faster. Just trying to figure out how to balance life between being a mother, wife, part time nurse, and runner. :)

When I was in 6th grade I filled out a Getting to Know You sheet. Under nicknames I wrote, "My brothers call me Boo Legs, I think its because I run fast." (It really came from the movie, Strange Brew) And its been my family nickname ever since.

Zombie run today. I worked a night shift last night and it took everything I had to get out the door this afternoon. When I woke up, I felt like I had been hit by a truck, more so than usual. Maybe the combination of speedwork yesterday followed by staying up all night? So painful. Didn't start feeling awake until mile 4. Is sleep running possible? :) 9 miles later I feel so much better and like a functional human being. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, thank goodness for running. It makes me feel awake and alive in more ways than one...

sleep run a lot around here-- I worked two years of nights and ran many races on no sleep including a 50 miler -- AND I totally get the "run over by a truck" feeling when you don't really sleep after working all night. 9 miles?? I would have run only four after being up all night!! way to go!!

Natalie, hey fellow nurse/night shifter! I work straight nights, too! Very grateful for running to help me feel alive after a shift (I could never do them right after though like you JulieC, that is CRAZY!! A 50 miler?! You go girl!!)

Your running is great. What are your racing plans next year?
