I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then. I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons. I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35. I won Thrid Place in my age group.
Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon. They did great and I was glad to just finish. I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.
I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die. I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.
We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons. Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak. I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

| | I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I ran one mile with Duke and my foot didn't hurt. Thursday I will run 3, |
| | I used the spin bike for 15 minutes and then did leg weight/stomach exercises and pushups. |
| | I ran 3 miles with Duke this morning before work. My foot didn't hurt. | |
| | Leslie and I ran 6 miles in the snow. We started at Ralphy's house just off 126th and 50th West and headed north through the subdivision. We crossed 118th and ran through daybreak north for a while and then turned east for a while and then north again. We ran for 33 minutes and then headed back the same way. My foot didn't hurt and I really enjoyed the run and the visit with Leslie. I am so glad my foot didn't hurt because I really love running outside. | |
| | After work, a short nap and visiting teaching I used the spin bike for 15 minutes and then did my arm weight exercises. I got a very good workout. | |
| | Duke and I met the group at the SJ Soccer field for the early workout. We got there early so I could run some before the others got there because I wanted to make sure that I could get in the 3 miles before work. It was a good run. | |
| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike for 30 minutes. |
| | Duke and I went early to meet the group at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We ran for 15 minutes and then went back. Mike was the only person that came to the early miles so we ran together for a while and then I got a phone call and it was Eric who wondered where we were. We were headed back to the temple so we picked him up and headed out again. We went the other direction past the temple and then I had to head back to go to work. It was a good run. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. |
| | This morning the group was meeting at Riverton Park at 7:30. Since I only had time to run for 1 hour, I ran to the park to meet the group and then ran back with them on my way home since they were going the same direction I needed to go. They were running the Riverton Half Marathon route. I would like to have run it, but Kent and I had to be at the Prison for our ARP meeting at 9am. It was a good run. It was very chilly running south to the park because it was very windy. On the way back it was just right. |
| | This morning I went across the street with my husband Kent to run around the field. It is about a quarter of a mile. He had a knee replacement last February and the other knee scoped. He wants to run the Riverton fun run so he is just starting out. Then after I did some cleaning I went to Leslie's and ran 3 miles with her. It was very chilly running north because the wind was coming from the north, so after we ran that way past two streets we turned around and went the other way. It was a good run. | |
| | I went to the church on 114th an 3300 west to meet the group for the early miles. Apparently the rest of the group is whimpy and thought it was too cold because I was the only one that came. I ran until it was time for the regular miles and still no one came. I got a good run in and wasn't too cold. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | Met the group a little early for the run. Duke and I ran down the street and then back to see if anyone came. No one came so Duke and I ran down 13th west almost to 114th and then back. I talked to the others when they came for the later run and then hurried home to get ready for work. | |
| |
I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. I did 50 pushups, took a 5 minute break and then did 50 more. I also used the stationary bike for 10 minutes.
|
| | This morning I met the group at Julie's house at 5 am. I only went 2.5 miles with Julie, Cheris and Michelle because I was running with Leslie at 7. I was very glad I changed into shorts and a tank top because it felt very warm to me. My thermometer said it was 48. Leslie and I ran through the subdivision across 118th and up to daybreak, around the lake and back the same way. It was warm going north and was glad I had on shorts and a tank top. On the way back the wind was blowing hard and it started to rain. By the time we got back I was getting cold. Leslie and I went 7.5 miles. It was a good run and I was very tired and cold at the end. I came home and took a long hot bath.
| |
| | I used the elliptical for 20 minutes and then did my arm weight exercises. | |
| | Met the group at the SJ library for the early miles. I got there a little early and started running. Kris was there and was running too. Then Carissa came and we started out and half way down the street we saw Michelle coming to we headed back and met her and Cheris. We ran down the road to the end then turned around and ran back but turned east on the street before the Library and headed down to 13th west. Then we turned around and headed back to the library. It was perfect running weather. If I had stayed for the later mile I would have taken off all my warm stuff. |
| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike. |
| | I went early for the early miles at running group and ran until Michelle got there, then we started off and saw Cheris coming so we went back. We ran the loop through the subdivision and then ran on the parkway trail. It was a good run. |
| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike and then did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. I need to use the spin bike alot until it is warm enough to ride outside because I signed up for the Goldilocks 60 mile bike ride. |
| | I met the group at Bingham for the run. I started out early and they caught me by the time I got to 9800 south. About 5 minutes later Kris Bullock and Debbie Kroll caught up and passed me. I kept it slow and steady and ran up 98th, over Bangerter and past the Glenmore Golf Course. Then I kept going on Sky Drive down the hill and up the other side and then kept going past the park, around the park and then up Sky Park Drive and then I eventually found Sky Drive again and headed back. When I had 3 miles to go Leslie called and said she would run 3 more miles with me when I got back. I got back to Bingham just behind Kris and Debbie and a minute later Leslie pulled in. She and I ran south to 114th and back. I was quite tired but glad I made 11 miles. |
| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike for 45 minutes and then I did my arm weight exercises. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the Parkway trail on 98th. I went early so Duke and I could run a mile before the others got there. We ran up the hill to 98th and then west to 13th west and then back. Mike, Kris and Nancy R came for the early miles. It was quite chilly (22 degrees) but I was warm by the time the others got there. We ran north on the trail until we got to the end of the trail and then turned around. Then we went past the parking lot and headed south. I left before the others started back because I needed to be to work by 6am.
| |
| | I used the spin bike for 30 minutes and then I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. | |
| | Thursday morning I ran with Duke before work because I didn't have time to meet the group and be to work by 6am. After work Kent, Ben and I headed for St. George to stay with our friends that live in Kayenta for 3 days. |
| | I didn't do any running but I did hike around Zions National Park with Ben, Kent, Charlie and Joyce. |
| | I ran from Joyce's house up towards the red mountain. I followed the road up until it curved around and followed it around until I came to a fence, then I turned around and headed back. Half way back down I met my friend Joyce running up so I turned around and ran back up with her we turned left before we got to the top and circled back to the main street. I enjoyed running with her. It was cool but not cold. (32 degrees) After I showered and got ready to go to the Dinosaur Tracks Museum we saw runners coming down Joyce's street. We watched for about 25 minutes and all the runners were women. We looked it up on the internet and it was the Run Like a Girl 5K and 1/2 marathon. It made me wish I was running in it. We had a fun time. Sunday we went to church with them in Gun Lock and after dinner headed home. We had a nice time but it is always nice to get home. |
| | I used the spin bike for 45 minutes after work and a short nap and then I started my arm weight exercises. Then I remember that it was one of my granddaughters birthday so I stopped and we went to visit her. I will have to finish my arm weight exercises tomorrow. |
| | I went early for the early miles and Kris was already there running. I followed him and ran north on 2700 and when he turned around I did. Then we came back to the parking lot at Riverton High and ran around the parking lot. When the others came for the early miles we ran through the subdivision and then back to the parking lot where we picked up Michelle M. and then ran north to the street that goes west past the Riverton Seminary and then went to where the street turns and we turned around and headed back. The group kept running around the school parking lot but I headed home. It was a good run. | |
| | I did my spin bike for 30 minutes and then finished my arm weight exercises. |
| | I went early for the early miles and Duke and I ran out to 13th west and north past two streets and then headed back to the church where the group was meeting. I ran past the church and around the parking lot. Mike was there and so was Michelle C. We started off and ran out to 13th west when we saw Cheris turn into the street to the church. The others headed back and I said I would keep going and they could catch up with me. Duke and I ran north past the church and then west over the canal and then south to 126th and then east to 13th west. The others didn't catch up but when I started north on 13th I saw their head lights and they were coming my direction. I caught up with them and they turned around and we continued north past the street we parked at and into the next subdivision. We ran around the loop and then turned around and headed back. The others were there for the regular miles. I said Hi and then headed home. It was a good run and Duke and I enjoyed it. |
| | I didn't run 20 miles, I ran 10 and biked 10. I do not know how to separate them. I met the group at Julie's at 7am this morning. Before the run I took Duke on a short run. There were about 5 other people at the run. I started off before the others but it only took a few minutes for them to catch up. We ran north trough the subdivision and over past 118th and then to 114th where we turned west. By then I couldn't see the group but I kept a slow and steady course. I ran west to 3200 west and then south to 126th. When I was at 118th I called to wake Leslie up. Then I kept going south to 126th and then east to the street by McDonalds and then on to Julie's house. No one was there but Carissa's car and one other car was still at Julie's. Leslie was there now too. I took off my warm stuff and we headed out. We went backwards through the subdivision and out to 126th and then west. Leslie wanted to go 4 miles. She has a GPS watch so we went west to the street where the house she is buying is on and turned north until be got to the house. We stopped for a minute and looked around and then continued on through the subdivision until Leslie's GPS watch said 2 miles and then we turned around and headed back. It was a good run. Then I came home, cleaned up and got ready for our Valentines party. Some of the grandkids and and 5 of my daughters along with Ben and Kent came. We had lunch and then decorated Valentines cookies. We also put Valentines in each box. It was fun to see everyone. Then I had a nap and got my bike ready to meet a women from my ward to go on a bike ride. We rode from her house to 13th west and then south to Bluffdale and out to Redwood road and back. It was a good ride and I had a nice visit with her. |
| | I used the spin bike and did my arm weight exercises. |
| | Duke and I went early for the early miles to make sure I could get in 3 miles before I had to be to work at 6am. We ran up and down the street in front of Mike's house. Then Mike came out and Walter and Michell C. came. We started off and then Michelle M came and we slowed down so she could catch up. We ran through the subdivision and out to redwood and then back through the subdivision and back to Mike's. Then I had to leave. It was a good run.
| |
| | I didn't have time to meet the group before work so I took Duke and ran my route up Redwood Road to 106th and back. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/ stomach exercises. |
| | I ran a quarter of a mile with Duke this morning and then I met the group at Michelle M's house. We ran the course that goes south on 13th and then east and then north and then east again to the parkway trail going north to 98th. I didn't see the group when they got on the trail but I didn't want to run the trail alone so I just stayed on the parkway road and ran to 106th and then west to the street by Harmon's. Then I turned south past the library and then east and back out to 13th west and back to Michelle's. I cut the run short by about 1.5 miles but I thought the group would be back at any time so I ran up and down the street in front of Michelle's street but didn't see anyone from the group coming so I went home. Leslie was going to meet me to run another 4 miles but she didn't call so I called her at 8:30 and woke her up. I decided to let her sleep. It ended up being a little colder than I thought because of the wind blowing so I was glad to have a hot bath and warm up. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises and then Leslie came over and we went running. It was a little slippery so we went slow. |
| | I met the group at the SJ Soccer fields for the early miles. I got there early so Duke and I ran up and down the street. Then Michelle C got there and we ran up and down the street until Julie and Cheris got there and then we ran up and down the street until Michelle M got there and then we ran out to 2200 and up to Rustic Roads and then to 2700 and over to Canterwood and back down to the Soccer Field. It was a good run. | |
| | I used the spin bike for and hour will watching Ellen. I got a good workout. |
| | Duke and I went early to meet the group so I could run at least a mile before they came. We ran from the park to 114th and back and then half way to 114th and back and then Michelle, Cheris and Julie came. We ran to the street before 114th and then up and around the block and back down and then over and back and then I had to leave to get to work. It was a lot colder than I thought it was because the wind was blowing. It took me a couple of miles to warm up because I wore a tank top and shorts. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises. I didn't have time for pushups so I will have to do them on Saturday. |
| |
I ran a half a mile with Duke and then came home and cleaned the house before I called Leslie. I went to run by her house. She had a sinus infection and wasn't feeling too good so we decided to just run 4 miles. We got to the 2 miles point and turned around and then Leslie got a call from work. She was on call so we had to take a shortcut back. It was a good run but I would like to have gone farther. Next Saturday we plan on running the Riverton Half Marathon course.
|
| | I used the spin bike for an hour. It was a good workout. |
| | I met the group early for the early miles. Kris was already there jogging and I jogged up to 2200 and out past the back parking lot and to the next street and then turned around and headed back past the other parking lot and down to street and back and then when I got back Kris was back. We started off and then saw Michelle come so we went back and picked her up. We then ran back out to 2200 and north to the second neighborhood and through it and then back out to 2200 and then through the next neighborhood and then back to Bingham to meet the others. I left to go home and get ready for work. | |
| | I used the spin bike for 45 minutes and got a good workout. |
| | I ran 3 miles with Duke this morning before work. I didn't have time to meet the group because they were meeting too far away. I was very glad I wore the spikes on my shoes that Michelle M gave me. It was very icy and slippery but I didn't slip once. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. |
| | I was a little bit worried on Saturday when I started off on my run. I was doing the Riverton Half Marthon Course and I hadn't run that far since October when I ran the SJ Marathon. I started off at the Park and headed north on 13th west. There was a running group running south and it made me wish I had a group to run with. Our group was running Wasatch Blvd but I wanted to run the Riverton Half Course. I kept it slow and steady. I brought my spikes to put on my shoes if the trail was icy. I got to the big hill on Lampton and turned to head to the trail. The trail was dry and did not have any ice. I headed up the hill in the Tithing Condo's and Leslie met me coming down. (She doesnt' like to get up early) then she ran the rest of the course with me. We got to the South County Pool and started down to the trail. It was quite icy and we had to walk, especially across the bridge. When we got to the trail it didn't look too bad. We started along and got to a few icy spots so I decided to put on the spikes. They helped a lot. We saw a lot of runners running the other direction. The weather was cool but not freezing. We took a few walking breaks and ate hot tomale's. We walked up the S curve. When we got past the S curve I started to get warm so I took off my gloves, arm warmers and head band. We made it past the cemetery and headed north on Redwood and then the wind picked up and I started to get cold. I didn't feel like stopping to dig out my gloves because we were close to the end. We made it back to the park and I was glad to be to the end but not dead. Both of my feet hurt the rest of the day but I stretched them and iced them so I'm sure they will be fine. | |
| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike for 45 minutes. | |
| | Met the group at the church on 102nd and 40th west. I didn't bring Duke because I didn't have to work today cuz I took the day off to take my daughter in for sinus surgery. I got there early so I ran down 40th west to the light on 106th and back. Then Cheris and Kris showed up. Cheris thought Michelle was on her was so we ran down to the light and then back and she still didn't come so we ran east on 102nd and through the subdivision and then back past the church and out to the light again. Then we met back at the church for the regular miles. Peggy came for the first time in 6 weeks and it was good to see her. We ran out to 40th west and north to 106and then west up to day break. I was way behind everyone and then Nancy Russell caught up and passed me and then Michelle M caught up to me. They were both late and were glad that I was slow so they knew when we were running. I visited with Michelle and then Peggy came back and I visited with her and then she and Michelle went ahead. When I got at the top of Day break I turned around and headed back because I needed to leave.was glad I was able to run 6 miles today. It was a good run. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises and then used the spin bike. | |
| | Duke and I met the group for the early miles. We got there a little early and ran for about 10 minutes and then Michelle, Mike and Cheris came. We ran through the subdivision and out and back a few times and then went back to the church for the regular miles and I hurried home to get ready for work. I'm glad I wore long pants because the wind was blowing and made it pretty chilly. | |
| | This morning at 6am Duke and I met the group at Julie's. Kris was there so we ran up and down the street while we waited for the others to get there. We then ran through the subdivision out to 118th then west to the next street and then back through the subdivision and back around to Julie's. Then we ran up and down the street until the rest of the people got there. Then the group started off and out the redwood. They were going on a very long run but Duke can only run 3 miles so at redwood I turned around and headed back. Then I went home and dropped Duke off and ran another three miles. Then I came home and cleaned the house before I met my friend to go biking. I rode to her house which is about a half a mile away and then we rode out to 13th west and then south to Bluffdale. It was quite windy going south. It wasn't too cold but the wind made it hard to pedal. I enjoyed visiting as we rode. When we got to Bluffdale we rode out to redwood and rode home on redwood. It was a good ride and I really enjoyed it. We plan on riding every Saturday because we both signed up for the Goldilocks ride. Since I don't know how to add my biking miles I just put them with my running miles. | |
| | I used the spin bike while I watched "Ellen." |
| | I met the group at the church on Tithing hill for the run but I didn't go to the early miles because I took the day off and could stay for the whole hour. I knew if I went to the early miles and then stayed I would be too dead to keep going. We started off with a run down 13th west and then left through the subdivision and out to 126th and then back to the church. I wore shorts and a tank top but still had gloves, arm warmers and a headband which I had to take off after the warmup run. Then we headed down Tithing Hill but instead of going to the trail we turned at the bottom of the hill and ran north through the subdivision. (No one wanted to run on the trail because that is where a girl was murdered on Sunday) We ran up and down the hills through the subdivision and then back up the big hill to where we started. I was way behind and when I got to the top of the big hill I didn't know if they went right or left but when I looked to the right I could see them coming back so I turned right and caught up with them. Then we went back down the hill and I thought we were doing the same route. I made it up the first hill and headed towards the big hill. I couldn't see anyone going up the big hill but I couldn't see them any where else either so I headed up the big hill. When I got to the top I couldn't see any of them so I headed back down the other hill and then back up. I still couldn't see them but I saw some other girls at the top of the big hill and caught up with them. They were another group so I ran with them for a few minutes and then headed back to the church. Everyone from the group was already driving home except Michelle, Cheris and Debbie but I couldn't see them so I drove home. Boy did I get a good workout. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises and rode the spin bike. |
| | Duke and I met the group a little early and ran until the others got there then I ran with them and headed back home to get ready for work. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. | |
| | I had to run early and only had time for 6 miles because we have to be at prison training this morning and then I am having a wedding shower for my oldest grand daughter. I ran 3 miles with duke and then 3 by myself. It was warm and windy but it was a good run. I may ride bikes this afternoon. |
| | After work, a short nap and visiting teaching I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I didn't have to be to work until 7am so I was able to run 7 miles before work. I ran 3 miles with Duke and then met the group at the SJ soccer fields. I was late for the early miles but early for the late miles. Julie got there the same time so she and I ran a mile while we were waiting for the others to get back. Then we did our SJ 5K course the right direction. I was already tired so I went slow. Debbie ran with me the whole way. It was good to visit with her and Julie. | |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike 6 miles. | |
| | I ran 3 miles with duke this morning and then went to meet the group. Carissa and I ran around the parking lot while we waited for the others to return from the early miles. We did our usual route through the subdivision and out to 126th and back to 27th and then through the other subdivision. Debbie and Peggy ran back a couple of times to make sure I was still coming and that I was alright. By the time I got back to Riverton High I wasn't sure where the group went so I went through the parking lot to the seminary and ran down that road. Then it was time for me to leave. I got a very good workout. After work my foot was very sore so I am icing it. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. |
| | Duke and I met the group at Riverton High. We only ran a short way with them. We ran west through the subdivision to 3200 west and then north. I turned at 114th to head home and the group kept going. I was going to run back after I dropped Duke off, but my foot was too sore and I want it to feel good enough to run the Riverton Half Marathon next Saturday. When I got home I cleaned the house and then rode bikes with a friend. I ended up running 3 miles and biking 15, but since I don't know how to separate them I put them together. I got a good workout. | |
| | I didn't have to work today so I did my arm weight exercises first thing this morning. Then I cleaned the house and went to Tooele to take my daughter to lunch for her Birthday. We went to Applebee's and I ate enough that I didn't need any dinner. I had a nice day. | |
| | Met the group for the early miles at River Front Park. We ran up through the subdivision and back down and then around again. Then I had to leave because I had to be to work at 6am. My foot didn't hurt today and I am glad. |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. | |
| | I didn't have time to meet the group because they were meeting too far away and I had to be to work at 6 so I ran my usual route with Duke. | |
| Race: |
Riverton Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 00:00:00, Place overall: 205, Place in age division: 1
I got to the race and exchanged my shirt for a large instead of medium because they run very small. I saw Eric in the tent and talked to him for a few minutes and then talked to a few people I didn't know. It was a warm day so I wore shorts and a tank top. When the race started I was hoping to do it in 2:30. I kept a slow and steady pace and was ahead of the pacer. My foot didn't hurt too much but just a little. I saw smooth and talked to her for a minute before she ran ahead.
When I got to the trail below the South County Pool I started to slow down a little. I walked while I ate hot tamalees and then drank some water and then started running again. When I was almost to the big hill on the trail the pacer caught up to me. I tried to stay with them but I couldn't. I just kept plugging along. My daughter was going to meet me at the water stop in Bluffdale. When I got there they just pulled up and she jumped out. She brought some fresh ice water. We kept going slow and steady and talked to several other people. We stopped at the next water stop and I drank gatorade and Jenny got water. We started up the S curve and ran part way and then I had to walk the rest of the way. We kept running until the last water stop and then walked threw while we drank and then continued on.
We were almost to Walgren and I was very, very tired so I walked and leaned on Jenny for a minute or two and then we continued on. When I was almost to the finish I ran a little bit faster. I was very glad to get to the end. It was my slowest Half Marathon, but I still won 1st in my age group. Both of my feet were very sore and I could hardly walk the rest of the day.
| | I was off work today to go to a funeral. I did my arm weight exrcises and some cleaning before the funeral, then I took a nap and went to my granddaughters wedding. They were both nice. I am not running for at least a week so my foot will feel better. | |
| | After I went to the temple this morning I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. Tonight after dinner I rode bikes with Shannon. We went 10 miles and it was fun. |
| | I went on a 1 mile walk with Duke. My foot hurt the whole time. Then I used the elliptical. My son and I went to Olive Garden for lunch and then to the Hunger Games. They were both very good. | |
| | I went to TRX class with Shannon and then we rode bikes. The class works your arms and legs alot. We rode out bikes out to 13th west then south to 126th and then east into draper. Then we took the frontage road past IKEA and then past the prison. We rode south from there and then took 3600 west back to 118th and then to Redwood road and home. We went 22 miles. Shannon rides slower than I do but I was glad to have someone to ride with. I had a good time and got lots of exercise. |
| | I took Duke on a 1 mile walk. My foot didn't hurt today. Then I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I met the BBK's at Bingham for the early miles. Duke and I only ran 1.5 miles and my foot hurt some so I decided that was good enough. | |
| | After work I went to the Dr. He confirmed that I had tendonitis in both feet. I got some new orthodics and prednisone and I can't run for two more weeks but I can ride a bike. When I got home I rode the spin bike for 30 minutes. |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. |
| | It was too rainy to bike outside so Shannon and I went to her work and used the spin bikes. We rode 31 miles. It wasn't as fun as riding outside but it helped to have someone to talk to. It took us 2 hours. |
| | This morning before work I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes. After work and a short nap I rode my bike on the 6 mile route. I really enjoyed the ride and got my heart rate up. It took me just over 20 minutes to ride the 6 miles. Then I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike and did my leg weight/stomach exercises. I didn't do my pushups because I hurt my shoulder yesterday while I was carrying a 5 gallon paint bucket. |
| | Before work I took Duke on a 1 mile brisk walk. After work and a short nap I used the spin bike. Then after dinner I spent the rest of the night at my daughters painting. |

We rode to the prison, through Bluffdale, back to South Jordan then to Daybreak then past the lake, down to 40th west and then north to 98th, east to 2200 then south to 118th and then west to Redwood Road and home. It was a nice ride and the weather was beautiful. Then I changed my clothes and headed to Leslie's house. I helped her fill the dumpster and then came home at took a nap. After my nap I went back and helped her paint her house. Boy am I glad we are done. I have been helped every night for the past week.
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. Then after dinner I bought some new running shoes. Then tendonitis in my feet is finally feeling better so tomorrow I am going to running group. | |
| | I met the group at the trailhead on 98th. Duke and I got there early and we ran for 10 minutes until the others got there. Then we ran south on the parkway past 106th and then turned around and headed back. Then I had to leave because I had to be to work at 6. It was fun to run with the BBK's again. My foot felt pretty good. |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile run. It took me just over 21 minutes. I got a good workout. |
| | Duke and I went early to meet the BBK's at the Riverfront park so we could run a mile before they got there. Then I ran 2 miles with them before I had to be to work at 6. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. Just taking a week off from pushups makes them so much harder. I did 50, took a 30 second bread and then could only do 25 more. |
| | This morning I rode bikes with Shannon. We went 40 miles. We started on Redwood Road and 114th and rode north to 98th and then east to 13th west and then south to 126th. Then we went east to the frontage road by the freeway and went past IKEA and then across the road to the prison, went around the prison and then west to Bluffdale. When we got to Redwood Road we went south past Camp Williams and continued South past the Lehi cross roads and continued until we got to a road the went west to Eagle Mountain. We turned north before we got to the big hill and then went north until we got to the road that takes you to Cedar Fort and then headed east back to the Lehi crossroads and then north on Redwood to 114th. It was a good ride. I wasn't too tired because I went a little slower for Shannon because she is not in as good of shape as I am. Then I spent the rest of the Day with my 8 grandkids that are spending the weekend. We went on a 3 mile walk down to the fish ponds and then around to the play ground and back. |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 miles course. I did it in just under 22 minutes. Then I did my arm weight exercises. Then my husband took me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner for our Anniversary(our 41st). It was good. | |
| | Met the group at Bingham for the regular miles. Duke and I only wanted to 3 miles. My foot still hurts some and I didn't want to over do it and Duke can only go 3 or he starts to limp. We both had fun. |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. I did it in under 22 minutes but today it seemed a little harder because the wind was blowing hard going north. | |
| | Met the group at the church on Tithing Hill. We ran up and down the hills around the subdivision and then went down to the trail to do speed work. We found a straight stretch that was about 600 yards so we ran fast one direction and slow back. We did this 4-5 times and then we headed south on the trail. When we got back to the park they kept going and I headed back to the car. I was very tired going up the hill so I had to walk for a minute. Even though I only stayed for 3 miles I was very, very tired. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. |
| | I ran the Linda Buttars Memorial 10K at Jordan Landing. It was a little bit cool and I was glad because after the 1st mile I started to get hot. I have only run 3 miles twice since the Riverton Half so I wasn't trying to break any speed records. I just kept it slow and steady. My son-in-law and granddaughter were running the 5K and I saw them at the start but they finished ahead of me. I had a good time visiting with people along the way. I ran it in 1 hour and 12 minutes which is my slowest 10K ever, but I was just glad to make it to the end. My left foot feels pretty good, but my right foot is quite sore. I have tendonitis on the top, side part of my foot. I decided not to bike today because I am already tired and I need to help Leslie paint this afternoon. | |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike my usual 6 mile course. The wind was blowing very hard and it felt like the whole ride was up hill. It took me 26 minutes instead of 22. I got a very good workout. I sure hope the wind isn't blowing on Saturday when I do my Goldilocks ride. | |
| | Went early to the BBK run so Duke and I could run a mile before the others got there. I had to be to work a 6am but wanted to run 3. My foot didn't hurt much and it didn't hurt the rest of the day. | |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. The wind wasn't blowing and it was much easier. I did it in just under 22 minutes. Then I did my arm weight exercises, got groceries, had dinner and then went with my husband to Leslie's house to help install some cabinets. Now I am taking a rest for the rest of the night. |
| | I didn't have time to meet the group because they were meeting too far away so Duke and I ran down to Redwood and up to 106th and back at 5am. | |
| | Shannon, Loretta and I did the Goldilocks bike ride. We were signed up for the 60 mile, but Shannon didn't want to go the whole way so we rode with Loretta as far as Camp Williams and then turned around. It was perfect weather for a bike ride and we had a nice time. Shannon and I did 43 miles and then we sat on the grass and ate our lunch while we waited for Loretta. Shannon decided that I should just take her car home and she would wait for Loretta. I came home, showered and had a nap before Shannon got here. I saw two people I knew on the ride. I saw Lisa Dudley in the parking lot when I was leaving to go home and Vanessa Housel at the rest stop on 27th. I really enjoyed the ride and didn't get too tired. | |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 miles course. It was not windy today so I did it in under 21 minutes and got a good workout. Then I went outside and weeded and after I take a short brake I will plant my flowers and then after dinner it is back over to help Leslie on her house. She wants to move in this weekend so me have a lot to get done. | |
| | Duke and I met the group at SJ Library and had a good 3 mile run. After work I helped Leslie on her house. |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike 6 miles. Then after dinner I went to help Leslie again. |
| | I met the BBK's at the church on 98th and 40th west. Duke and I were a few minutes early so we jogged around the church while we waited. Not many people came, probably because they are tapering for Ogden. Cheryl, Debbie and I and 3 guys came. We ran up past the golf course to the big hill and ran up and down it a few times. Then we did the mile loop and then I headed back so I could get to work. It was a good run. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. I'm not helping tonight because we have to conduct an ARP meeting. |
| | I ran 3 miles with Duke and then I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. Then I cleaned for a while. Then Kent, Ben and I went to get the things out of the Storage Auction that I won the bid on. When we got back we unloaded the stuff and loaded up Leslie things from the garage and went to help her move. She had all the stuff unloaded from the U-Haul when we got there. We unloaded the trailer, came home and took a short nap and went back and helped some more. I'm sure glad her house is finished and she has moved in, it was a lot of work. |
| | I rode my bike on my 6 mile course and did it in 22 minutes. |
| | Met the group for the early miles at the River Front Park. Mimi and Kris were there. We ran a loop around the subdivision and then went on the trail. | |
| | I took the day off because my daughter broke her leg and needs surgery. While I waited for her to call I rode my bike on my 6 mile course and then did my arm weight exercises. She called and we headed up to the hospital in Park City. They decided to wait until Tuesday to operate. Her husband will take the day off on Tuesday and I will take Wednesday off to stay with her. It is just out patient surgery but she will be on crutches for 6 weeks. |
| | I ran 3 miles with Duke before work. After work I drove back up to Park City to pick up my daughter. She broke her leg and her husband is working long hours so she needed to come here so we could help her. She needs surgery on her leg but they will not do it until Tuesday, so we will take her home on Monday. Her husband has Monday and Tuesday off so I will go back and pick her up on Wednesday and bring her home until his next day off. |
| | I ran 3 miles with Duke, came home and cleaned and then rode 10 miles with Shannon. Then I spent the day taking car of my daughter that broke her leg and tending grandkids while my daughter moved. I was very tired by nighttime. |
| | I met Shannon and we did our 10 mile course. Then I went with my husband, kids and grandkids over Butterfield Canyon where we met my oldest daughter and her husband and family for a picnic. They live in Tooele so they came from that side and found a spot for us. We cooked hot dogs and hamburgers and had salad and dessert. It was good and we had fun. Then Kent and I drove Becca back to Peoa. Her surgery is tomorrow and then her husband will bring her back to our house for the week. He works very long hours and doesn't want her home alone. | |
| | Met the group at Riverton Park. We ran part of the 10K course. I had to be to work at 7am so I was able to run 3.5. My foot is starting to feel better so I will slowly increase the miles.
|

Then I got her breakfast and then rode my bike on my 6 mile course. I did in in 21.37 minutes and got a good workout. Then I weeded for an hour. I could almost get spoiled and probably will when school is out.
| | Met the group for the early miles at the SJ Soccer fields. Only Kris and Aaron were there. Duke and I started off early and about half way through they caught me. We kept plugging along and made it back before the group started. Greg was in charge today and we ran down to Redwood and then back to the soccer field and then I left. I got a good workout and at work a got a very good workout because we cleaned. My arms and shoulders are sore now so I am not going to do my arm weight exercises today. |
| | Duke and I ran 4 miles this morning and then I had a garage sale. After the garage sale my daughter Christine took me to El Farol for lunch. It was very good. |
| |
I rode my bike to the school and then worked for 4 hours helping the janitors clean lockers and then I rode my bike back home. Now I am going to take a nap and then start cleaning. After my nap I cleaned for a while and then did my arm weight exercises.
|
| | I met the group for the early miles. We ran down 2200 to Temple View and did the usual course. Carissa and Kris were the only ones there, but as we ran towards Bridal Oaks we met Cheris and Michelle. Then we regrouped at Bingham and did the course again. I did part of the course and headed home to get ready for work. I rode my bike to work and did the 3 miles in 12 minutes but on the way back home it took 14 minutes because it was very windy. |

| |
I met the group at the church on 114th and 3200 w for the early miles. Mimi was there and Kris was already off running. We met up with him and ran through the subdivision and the out to 3200 and toward 106th I turned around before 106th and headed back. For the regular miles there were 7 more runners and we did the run through the subdivision and out to 3200 and back for the warmup. Then they were doing a 3 mile tempo run but I turned around at the same spot as the warmup because it needed to get to work. I rode my bike to work and then back home again. Then I took a nap and did some cleaning and then weeded the flower beds.
|

We turned around and headed west and then north and then west again and made I large loop around and back. Then we met the others. Cheryl was in charge and there were not many other people. Debbie didn't want to run fast because she had a pulled muscle so I ran with her. We were going to run up to Daybreak Lake and around. After we got up the street a ways Debbie decided that her pulled muscle hurt too much so we just ran back to the church. After that we both went home. I didn't ride my bike to work because I needed to hurray home to get ready for my nephew's wedding at the Salt Lake Temple. It was a very nice wedding. |

We ran from Greg's house to the parkway trail and headed north to the end of the trail past 98th. Duke and I were ahead for a few minutes until Duke had to keep stopping at every bush. The trail was 2.5 miles and I wanted to get in 6 so when I got to the end at 98th I ran south for 6 minutes and then turned around and ran back to the end again. I'm glad we went early because it was already getting hot. Then I came home and help my husband clean out irrigation ditches. After lunch and a short nap we took Becca back home to Peoa. | | This morning I did my arm weight exercises and then went to Leslie's and ran 3 miles with her. |
| | Met the group at the church on Sky Drive. I didn't go to the early miles because I don't have to work any more this summer and I knew I would be too tired to stay for all the regular miles if I went to the early miles. Also I brought Duke and he can only run 6 miles or he will get a sore leg. We ran up Sky Drive to 4800 and then we did the 1 mile loop. I was very tired by then and couldn't see where the group went, but luckily Michelle M and Jameson were late and came running up behind me. Jameson went one way to look for the group and Michelle went the other. I followed Michelle on Sky Drive. When she turned around so did I and then Jameson came running and said he had found them back the other direction. I followed them and we went to the Gully and crossed the Gully. By the time I crossed the Gully I wasn't sure where they went but I continued on to Daybreak and then turned left and went back out to 102nd and down the big hill. On my way down I say Greg coming up. When I got to 40th west I headed north back to Sky Drive and to the church. When I got there the others were there. We talked for a minute and then some of them were going to run more. I was too tired to run so I came home. After breakfast I weeded for a while and then voted and then weeded some more. I am taking a break for about 30 minutes and then I will weed more. | |

| Race: |
Riverton 10K (6.2 Miles) 01:07:26, Place overall: 87, Place in age division: 1 | | I ran the Riverton 10K. I did a slow and easy 11mm pace. When I got to the hill I walked for 1 minute. Leslie and Duke met me at about mile 5. It really helped to have Duke pull me to the end. I was very tired. I hate running races in the heat. The race started later than usual because they added a 5K and it started 10 minutes before our race.
| | I biked 8 miles with Shannon and then ran 3 with Leslie. |
| | Shannon and I biked our usual 8 miles course. Then I got ready for my sister's getaway. We met at the Olive Garden for lunch and then all of us except one of my sister's who had to work headed up to my Sister's cabin in Heber. We spent the weekend eating, playing games, watching movies, eating more and on Saturday we went to the Lake and floated around on my daughters donut raft and had a lot of fun. |
| | I walked/jogged up and down the hills around my Sister's cabin. We ran down the hills and walked up. |

| | Duke and I met the group at Bingham. We started off running to the neighborhood just north of Bingham on the right side. We did a loop through the neighborhood and then another loop. Then we did a tempo run through Temple View, Bonanza and the same neighborhood across. By the time Duke and I got back they were already starting the next part of the run. We could see them running north on 2200. They turned on Bridal Oaks. We could still see them at the end of Bridal Oaks as they turned south on 2700. Duke and I turned around and went east on Bridal Oaks, back to 2200 and then to Bingham. When I was almost back to Bingham I saw one of my co workers going north on 2200 so I stopped and talked to her for a few minutes. I was very, very tired. Then I went home and date breakfast and rode my bike to Leslie's and then went on a bike ride with her. We rode from her house up 126th to 3600 and then north to 118th and then up 118th to the Mountain View Corridor. We rode south on the Corridor and then turned around at the bridge and headed back. We rode east on 118th and at 2700 Leslie turned south and headed home and I kept going east to Redwood and then home. I think I got a very good workout today. | |
| | Shannon was not feeling well this morning so I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups instead of biking with her. Then I did some cleaning and weeding before I called and woke Leslie up. Then I rode my bike to her house and we did a 6.2 mile ride and then I rode home. I live 2.5 miles from Leslie. She is a slow bike rider, but I rode fast to her house and fast back home. |
| | Duke and I did our 6 mile South County Pool course. We went at 5:45 and it was already getting hot. It was a good thing there were sprinklers for Duke to drink out of because by the end I didn't have any water left. I went slow and steady and I was still very tired at the end. |
| | I met Shannon at 6am to ride bikes. We did our usual 8 mile course. She was very speedy today and we did in in under 30 minutes. Then I came home and weeded and then did my arm weight exercises. Then I went with my son, my daugther Bridget and her two kids and two of my other grand kids on a hike to Ensign Peak. We went early so it wasn't too hot yet. We had to carry Deklan part of the way. It was fun. The view from the top is awesome. |
| | I ran to Leslie's with Duke and then she ran back with us. I thought it was only 2.5 miles and that I was even slower than usual, but on the way back Leslie had her GPS watch and it was actually 3.2 miles. |
| | I rode bikes with Shannon. We did our usual 8 mile course. We did it fast this time which I really like to do. Then Duke and I ran our 3 mile course with Leslie. |
| | My husband and I are visiting my daughter and her family in Idaho. I didn't exercise but I spent a lot of time chasing kids and playing with them. It had been a fun visit. | |
| | Shannon and I did our regular 8 mile ride. She is getting a lot faster so I got a pretty good workout. Then I did some cleaning and indexing before I called and woke up Leslie. She, Duke and I ran miles. | |
| | Shannon and I rode our bikes 11 miles today and we did it in 45 minutes. We both got a good workout. I didn't have time to ride with Leslie because I had to take my daughter Becca up town for her State esthetic test. |
| | Duke and I did our South County Pool 6 mile run. For some reason I was feeling very tired. On the way back when Duke stopped for a minute I almost felt like I was going to faint so I leaned down and put my head between my knees. When I got home I had to lay down for a few minutes. | |
| | I rode 8 miles with Shannon. She wasn't as fast as last week and I thought we were going to go 11 miles so we almost crashed when I kept going straight and she turned. After I got home I weeded for half and hour and then called and woke up Leslie. She and I ran 3 miles. | |
| | Met the group for the early miles at the parkway trail in Riverton. Duke and I were the only ones at the early miles. We started north on the trail and ran to where it ends in the subdivision. Then we ran back where Lisa Dudley caught up with us. It wasn't time for the others to come so we ran north on the trail for a couple of minutes and then came back. When Michelle Margetts got there she gave us all our Team Iron Dean pins. Then we headed north on the trail again. Duke and I kept up until he had to stop and use a bush. I felt very hot and tired so I didn't mind that Duke kept stopping. I turned around before I got to 114th and headed back. I felt very hot and tired when I got to the car. I was going to bike with Leslie when I got home but it looked like it might rain so I decided to do my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups instead. I will bike with Leslie tomorrow. |
| | I rode the usual 8 mile route with Shannon. Then I came home, ate breakfast, called and woke Leslie up and rode to her house. We did a quick loop around her block and then I rode back home. On the ride to Leslie's and the ride back I ride as fast as I can. On the way to her house it took me almost 14 minutes and the way home it took 10. The way home is downhill. |
| | This morning Duke and I ran to Leslie's and then she ran back with us. I made her breakfast and then took her home. |
| | Shannon and I did a shorter loop on our bikes because there were lots of dark clouds and lightening. We did it fast so we still got a good workout. Then I came home and did my arm weight exercises. | |
| | This morning my friend Shannon and I did a longer ride. We rode from her house down to 13th west and the south to Bluffdale. Then we rode west to 3600 West and north to 118th and then east back to redwood and home. It was a 15 mile ride and took us just over 1 hour. Then I got a drink, refilled my water bottle and headed out the door with Duke. We ran to Leslie's house which is 3.1 miles away and then she ran back with Duke and I. After I made her breakfast, I took her home. I think I got a good workout. | |
| | I rode my regular 8 mile route with Shannon and then I ran 3 miles with Leslie. |
| | Met the group at Centennial Park. We ran through the subdivision and out to 3600 W and then south past the cemetery and across the street to another subdivision. We ran around the block in the subdivision a few times and then went back out to 3600 west and south to 134th and then east until we got back to the street by the park. I was so slow that I couldn't tell where to turn but Peggy came back for me a couple of times. I really appreciated that. I was very dead at the end. It was very hot and muggy.
| |
| | Shannon and I did our usual 8 mile ride on our bikes. We did it in under 30 minutes. Then I ate breakfast and called Leslie and then rode to her house (3.1 miles away) and then we did a 5 mile bike ride and I rode back home. Then I weeded and now I am going to index and then clean the house. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups and then Duke and I went to Leslie's to run. We only did 3 miles but it really killed me. I will sure be glad for cool weather. |
| | Shannon and I rode our regular 8 mile route and we did it in under 30 minutes. After my bike ride my Husband Kent made me breakfast for my Birthday. Then I called Leslie and woke her up and rode my bike to her house. Then we did our usual 5 mile route and I rode back home. Then I did my arm weight exercises and cleaned up. Then my son Ben took me to lunch. | |
| | Shannon and I did our long bike ride today. It was a fun ride. Then I went to Leslie's and she and I ran 8 miles. I had to walk off and on the last 4 miles, but I made it. |
| | Shannon and I did our usual 8 mile bike ride. Then I ate breakfast, did my indexing and then Duke and I went to Leslie's to run. We did our usual 3 miles course. I ran it 3 minutes faster and wasn't as dead as usual. Maybe it was the leftover Birthday Cake I ate for breakfast that made me run faster. |
| | Duke and I met the group at the trail head on 98th. Cheris, Michelle and I got there early and ran south for a couple of minutes while we waited for the others to get there. We everyone arrived we decided to go north on the trail because they had it opened to 90th south. We headed south and of course Duke had to stop at every bush so we were way behind. We kept going and got to the Golf Course. We couldn't see the others so we ran all the way around the Golf Course and then headed back on the trail. We got to the parking lot at 98th and filled my water bottle and turned around and headed south again. We we got to where the trail use to end we saw the others coming and turned around. Then we headed south past the parking lot and kept going almost to 106th and turned around and headed back. I'm not sure how far I went but with Duke stopping so much I am just counting it as 5. Then I came home and called Leslie and woke her up. Then I rode my bike to her house and we did our usual 5 mile course and then I rode back home. I got a good workout. Now I need to shampoo my couches in the frontroom and then the carpet. | |
| | I called Leslie at 6am and headed to her house for our run. She is leaving on Saturday and does not have time for a long run before she leaves. We started off slow and steady and kept going to mile 4 and then we ate some hot tamalees and walked for 20 seconds and then turned around and headed back. We were slow and steady the rest of the way and stopped twice more to eat hot tamalees. We were 15 minutes faster than the 8 mile run on Saturday. I think it was because I didn't bike before we ran and also because we went early and it wasn't as hot or muggy. Also I prayed that I would be able to make it and I'm sure that helped too. | |
| | I somehow got confused and put Thursday's report on Wednesday and then didn't report Wednesday. On Wednesday I rode bikes with Shannon and we did our usual 8 mile course and then I went to Leslie's and rode with her. |
| | Shannon and I rode our 10 mile course out to Bluffdale and back. | |
| | Shannon and I rode our 15 mile course. We met up with my running group when we were riding down the S curve. We also me up with a Bluffdale race when we were going west on 144th. We only saw one runner who was the leader of the 10K, his name was Ryan and he taught the Tri class that I took at Marv's a few years back. We had a good ride and then duke and I hopped in the car and headed to Leslie's. We did a quick 3 mile run with her. She is leaving this morning to go with her Boyfriend to his family outing in North Carolina. |
| | Shannon and I did our usual 8 mile bike ride.. She must have been tired because she was slower than usual. Then I came home and ate breakfast. Since Leslie was gone to South Carolina with her boyfriend to meet her boyfriends parents I ran with my daughter Christine. We ran from her house to 2200 and then south to 90th south and back. She is just getting back into running so she went slow with me. It was a good run. | |
| | Met the group at the Riverfront Park. We ran to our favorite big hill and went up and down about a million times. I haven't done hills for a long time and I was so dead I could hardly run back to my car. It's a good thing I had Duke to help pull me up and down. He was very tired at the end also. | |
| | Shannon and I did our usual bike ride. Then I came home and did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. |
| | Met the group for the early miles. Duke and I were the only ones there so we jogged through the subdivision out to 3200 West and then north. Then we turned around and went back and then we jogged east on 114th to 2700 and then back. When we got back the group was there for the other miles. We did the same trail through the subdivision and then out to 3200. They continued on but I forgot to exchange my water bottle and Duke needed more water so we turned around and headed back. On the way back I saw Debbie coming and say Hi. After I got back to the parking lot and exchanged bottles, we ran the same trail back and ran to 106th and then saw the group coming. We turned around and ran back to the church once again. Now I am going with my Husband and son to Fish Lake for the weekend. |
| | I rode my bike to work today. When I was about a quarter mile away my tire went flat. I kept riding but it was very bumpy and slow the rest of the way. I wasn't able to ride home so my son picked me up. After a short nap I made plum leather and froze my garden corn. Then I made dinner and cleaned the kitchen. | |
| | I met the group at the park off Tithing Hill. They decided to run up the hill. I started up the hill and they went back for someone that came late. When I got to the top of the hill I looked back and no one else was running up. I ran back down and couldn't see the others so I ran up the hill again. I still couldn't see them so Duke and I ran back down and went south on the trail until we got to the river and then we turned around and went back to the parking lot. We still didn't see anyone so we ran up the big hill again and then back down. When we got to the parking lot the others were coming back from the trail. Then we met the others for the regular miles. We ran along the trail for 6 minutes and then turned around and headed back. By then I was a ways behind because Duke has to stop at every bush. They all ran up the big hill again so Duke and I did also. Then we ran back down again and got in the car and headed home. I got ready for work and rode my bike to work. |
| | I met Shannon and we rode our bikes to Leslie's house. Then we rode out to 118 and back to redwood. Shannon went home and I rode around the block and back to Leslie's and then back home. Now I am going to do my arm weight exercise before I freeze more corn and make salsa. I don't have to be back to work until Tuesday so I need to get as much done as I can before then. |
| | Duke and I ran to Leslie's and then she ran back with us. It was a lot harder on the way to Leslie's than on the way back, maybe because the way back is mostly downhill. |
| | I rode my bike on the 6 mile course by myself because Leslie wanted to sleep in and Shannon was not feeling well. I did the course in under 20 minutes. I can ride a lot faster when I ride by myself. Then I came home and did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. Then I went on a hike with some of my kids and grandkids. | |
| | I called Leslie at 6:15 and then went to her house to run. We did our usual course but added on a 1/2 mile before we turned around so that we could go 9 miles. We went slow and steady. I made it the whole way without dying. |
| | Shannon and I rode our regular 8 mile bike course. Then I went to Leslie's with Duke and we did our usual 3 mile course. |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so Duke and I ran at 4:45. We just did our 3 mile down to the light on 106th and back. | |
| | I didn't exercise at all today. I had to be to work at 6am. After work we drove over the mountain.to Tooele to visit my daughter, son-in-law and their family. |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so Duke and I went early to running group and ran about a mile before everyone got there. Then when the others came I ran 1.5 miles and then had to get home to get ready for work. After work I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I rode my bike on my quick 6 mile course. It was hot but I had a good ride. |
| | Leslie was sick so Duke and I ran our 4 mile course around the block. We went south on Redwood to 126th and then east to 13th west and then north back to 114th. It was a good run and I was tired at the end. |
| | Leslie and I were going to do our long run today, but she was still not feeling well so I went on a 15 mile bike ride with Shannon. It took us and hour and 10 minutes. Shannon was slow today. I think I could do the ride by myself in 45 minutes. One day next week I will try. I'm glad I have Shannon to ride with even if she is slow. |
| | Met the group for the early miles at Riverton High. We did our course through the subdivision and out to 126th and then east to 2700 and back to Riverton. By they I couldn't see the group so Duke and I ran past the school and down the same street to the seminary and then through the seminary to the school parking lot. When the others got their, some were running on the track and others a different course. It just did the same course again and headed home to get ready for work. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups.
|
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on the course Shannon and I usually ride our 15 mile course. I didn't ride to Shannon's so it was .5 short of what we normally ride. I tried to ride fast but had to stop once to answer my phone and I had to go slow on 126th down the side walk because I didn't want to be in construction on 3600 north of 126th but I didn't want to try to merge over to the turn lane on 126th and Redwood. I rode east down the side walk on the north side of the road until I got to Leslies street. Then I turned north through the subdivision and got to 3200 and then out to 118th and then east to Redwood and home. I made it in 56 minutes. It usually takes Shannon and I an hour and 6 minutes to ride this same ride so I think I got a good workout. |
| | Met the group at the SJ soccer fields for the early miles. I started with Duke before the others got there. We went to the left and did the course the way I like best. I was slow and steady. Kris and Rachel caught up with me just before I got back to the soccer fields. The second time around we went the other direction. I was very tired already and went slow and steady. Before I got the end I was so tired I wasn't sure I was going to make it. I kept plugging along and made it to the end. Then I got cleaned up and went to work. I was very tired at work and had to sit down a couple of times but I made it through. |
| | I let Leslie sleep in until 6:30 am and then called and woke her up. She drove to my house and we ran down 114th to 2200 and then north to almost 7800 to Christine's house. We stopped and visited and used the restroom and refilled our water. Then we headed back. We didn't stop once on the way to Christine's but on the way back we stopped twice to eat hot tamalees and walk for a minuted. We were glad to make it the 10.5 miles. If I keep working on it I might make the SOJO half without dying. |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile route. |
| |
Duke and I met the group at Riverton High. We left before the others got there and ran the usual course through the subdivision and out to 126th and back. We saw Kris on the way. We we got back we ran past the school and back to the street and turned in the subdivision again and ran down to the seminary and into the parking lot. There were others there for the late mile so we all jogged around the parking lot until the others got back. Then they did track work and Duke and I ran the same course again and then headed home. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.
|
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. Heading home on Redwood going north was very hard because the wind was blowing from the north very hard. |
| | I ran 1 mile with Duke before work. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight exercises along with my pushups. |
| | Since Leslie was out of town, I ran with Duke at 6am this morning. We did our 6 mile South County Pool run. It was much easier this time because it was cooler. |
| | I met the group for the early miles at Riverton but I came late so they were already gone. I ran the route backwards and met the group coming east on 126th just past the High School. I turned around and we turned on 2700 and then went east in the neighborhood across from the school. When we got back to the school and met the others, most of the group did speed work on the track but Duke and I did the same route again and then headed home. |
| | I met the group at Bingham but I was late again and they had already gone so Duke and I ran north on 2200 to 98th and then back to the school. No one was there yet so we turned around again and ran north on 98th to the back parking lot and then back again. When the others came we ran north on 2200 and then turned right into the first neighborhood. We did a loop around the neighborhood and then started our tempo run. We ran through the neighborhood, back across the street to Bonanza and then to the next street. The others we clear to 2700 but I only went half way and then started back to the High School. Then I headed home to get ready for work. | |
| | Leslie and I ran from her house to Christine's and back. It ended up being 12.65 miles. When we got to Christine's we ate a snack and refilled our water bottles. She ran back with us for a mile and then headed back home. We had to walk a couple of times and eat hot tamalees, but we made it. Next Saturday we are going to run the South Jordan Half course. | |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on the 6 mile course. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so I ran with Duke at 4:30. We went 3 miles. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight exercises along with pushups. |
| | I went early to running group. No on was there. Duke and I ran back and forth on 114th. First west and then east. I think we went about 3 miles. Then the others came and we ran through the subdivision out to 3200 and then on 3200 to 106th. The others turned on 106th and went west. I turned around and headed back so I could get ready for work. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.
|
| | Leslie and I ran the South Jordan Half Marathon course. We drove up to the school in Day Break and parked the car and started off. It was nice and cool when we started. We headed down and turned and ran on the trail by the lake and out to 106th. Then we turned south on 40th West. I had to walk for a minute and eat hot tamalees and then we started up the hill by the temple. We kept going south to 118th and then turned east. We ran east to 3200 and then turned north. We stopped at the spot where I hid the water and snacks. Leslie used a pop that was right there and then we started off again. I had to walk once more before we got to 98th. Then we headed east again until we got to the parkway trail headed and then we headed south along the trail. I told Leslie to go ahead because she needed to use the restroom at the end. I had to walk once or twice more and boy was I glad to get to the end. | |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. It took me just over 21 minutes. | |
| | I met the group at Riverton High, but since they are all running SGM I was the only one there. Duke and I did our usual course twice and then we came home and I went to work. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | After work and short nap I rode my bike on my usual 6 mile course. Going north the wind was blowing so hard I felt like I was pedaling hard just to stay even. It took me over 23 minutes today but I think I got a better workout. | |
| | The running group wasn't meeting and Duke had a sore leg so I didn't run before work. After work I was too lazy. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. |
| | Leslie and I ran the South Jordan Marathon course again. I noticed when I was running that I really didn't enjoy running that far. We had to walk a few times and I wasn't any faster than last week, but I made it to the end. I think this half may be my last. |
| | After work and a short nap I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. |
| | I ran 3 miles with Duke before work. |
| | I did my arm weight exercises. |

| | After work and a short nap Ben, Duke and I went on a 1 miles walk. |
| | I met the with group this morning and it was very nice to run with them again. I haven't run with them for a couple of weeks. Duke and I were at the back, but the group circled back a couple to times to get us. Duke and I just did the 3 mile loop and then we headed home. I'm off work for a couple of days but I am running the SOJO half on Saturday so I only wanted to run 3 today. |
| | I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. For some reason it was very hard and it took me 25 minutes. Maybe my tires need some air. After I got back, Duke, Ben and I went on a 1 mile brisk walk.(Duke does not walk slow). I hope I am ready for my Half Marathon tomorrow. | |
| Race: |
South Jordan Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 02:36:00 | | I ran the South Jordan Half Marathon. I ran slow and steady and walked through every aid station. The last two miles I kept getting cramps in my calf so I had to stop and stretch. I think this will my last half marathon, I am not enjoying them as much as I used to.
| | I rode my bike on my 6 mile course. |
| | I had to be to work early so I ran I mile with Duke before work. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |

| | After work and a short nap I used the spin bike for 30 minutes. I got a good workout. | |

Duke and I ran down 2200 almost to the light on 98th and then turned around and headed back to Bingham. Kris was there, but now one else came so we headed back out to 2200 and then did the loop through the subdivision. Then we came back and the others were there for the later miles, but I had to leave to get to work. |
| | I used the spin bike for 30 minutes. |
| | Met the group at the West Riverfront Park but since I didn't have to be to work until 7, I just went for the regular miles. I only wanted to run 3 miles because my foot still has tendonitis and I want to make sure I can run Deans race on Saturday. Only Cheris and Rachel came to the run. We did a few rounds through the subdivision and then I had to leave. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my pushups. |
| Race: |
Team Iron Dean 5K (3.1 Miles) 00:26:00 | | I ran the Team Iron Dean 5K with Duke pulling me along. It was quite chilly today but I was glad as soon as I started running. There were about 500 people in the race. They were not timing us or doing place finisher. Duke and I started off early because he was very excited we had to cross an icy bridge to start the race and I didn't want to fall down. As soon as we crossed the bridge the race started and Duke took off pulling me along. I was very glad I was only doing a 5K because Duke pulled fast the whole time. When we got to the finish my son ben was waiting there and was surprised how fast we finished. Then we took Duke home and came back for the raffle. We also got Jdawgs to eat and they were very good. They raffled off a lot of prizes and Leslie won a gift card to Einstiens Bagels. It was a nice race and I'm glad so many people came to support Dean.
| | I rode my bike on my 6 mile ride. I forgot to start my watch so I don't know how long it took me. |
| | Duke and I met the group at Bingham. I went a little early for the regular miles and ran down 2200 and then back. On my way back Peggy caught up with me. She was the only one that came to the early miles. Then we met the others back at Bingham. They were running on the track so Duke and I ran the course the goes around temple view, Bonanza and then Bridal Oaks and then I had to get home to get ready for work. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. | |

| | I used the Elliptical for 10 minutes and the spin bike for 20. |
| | I met the group at Riverton High for the early miles. Duke and I were the only ones there. We did out loop through the subdivision and out to 126th and then back to 2700. When we got to Riverton High we kept going north and almost to the light on 118th we turned around and ran back to the light on 126th and then back north almost to the light and back. Then the others came for the later miles. Only Cheris, Rachel and Carissa came for the regular miles. I said "HI" and then headed home. |
| | I had too many things going on so I only made a 1 mile fast walk with Duke, Ben and my granddaughter Annika. |
| | Duke and I met the group at the park below tithing hill. We ran north for a bit and then turned around and went south. I only wanted to go 3 miles because I needed to get home and put the turkey on to cook. So I turned around when my watch said 25 minutes. We had a nice Thanksgiving with my husband and I and all our kids except for 1 daughter and son-in-law and 4 grandkids we had 37 people. It was fun, but noisy and wild. | |

I turned around after a mile to head home and get ready for work. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. I kept getting phone calls so I only ended up doing half of what I normally do. |

| | I had 4 grand kids staying with me last night so I got up and jogged 3 miles with Duke before they woke up. Then I came home and made them breakfast. At 8am I called Leslie. She was tending the baby of these grand kids. She came over with the baby and then the oldest (Rachel who is 12) tended while Leslie, Duke and I ran 3 miles. It was a good workout. | |
| | I rode my bike on my usual 6 mile course. |
| | I met the group for the early miles at Riverton High. Duke and I were the only ones there. We ran the usual route through the subdivision, then we ran past Riverton High and north to the light on 118th and then back to Riverton. The others were at Riverton when we got back. I said hello and then I headed home to get ready for work. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I ran 1 miles with Duke and then met the group at Bingham. They were running on the track and Duke can't run on the track. I didn't want him to be disappointed so I ran with him first. There were 6 people there besides me. Peggy, Rachel and I ran on the track and Mike, Todd and Carissa ran around the neighborhoods.
|
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. I took the day off because my husband is having surgery on his knee. He is in the worst pain that he has ever been in his life. He didn't hurt his knee, but last Saturday night he was reading and got up to come downstairs and his knee was hurting. It has steadily gotten worse. They tested him for gout and did an x-ray but couldn't see anything wrong. The blood test didn't show an infection, but they are doing exploratory surgery to see what is causing all the pain. He had knee replacement surgery on his other knee and it was painful but the pain is twice as bad with this knee. | |
| | Leslie, Duke and I ran our 6 mile course down to 13th west, then north to 106th, then north on 10th west to 98th and then west back to 13th and then south to 106th, west to redwood and then south to 114th.. It was a good run and we were 7 minutes faster than the last time we did that route. |

| | I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes and the spin bike for 15. |
| | I got up to run this morning, but my foot was hurting too much to run. I didn't do anything to it. Yesterday I used the Elliptical and Spin bike and it didn't hurt. It was really hurting most of the day at work and then suddenly it quit hurting. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with pushups. |

| | I met the group at Cheris's house for our Christmas Eve run. I was early so Duke and I ran up and down the street, then we saw Rachel and she ran with us for a few minutes until everyone else got there. We were doing an out and back from her house. Duke and I started off early because I am so slow. We ran out to 3200 and then south. A couple of people caught Duke and I and we kept going until we turned east and then ran east to the street that goes south again. When I got to 16 minutes we turned around and headed back. I was only going 3 with the group so I could take Duke back home before we had our party. Ben came with me to the party. We had hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls. Cheris and Cheryl gave each of us a small present. We got a light to wear running and some shot blocs. It was fun. | |

Leslie, Duke and I met the group at Julie's house. It was very cold. We started off before the others because I am slow. It wasn't too slippery, but there were a couple of spots I had to walk so I wouldn't fall down. we headed through the subdivision and out across 118th and through that subdivision to 114th and then up a couple of streets and south through a subdivision and then out across 2700 through another subdivision and then out to 3200 and then south to 126 and east to Mcdonalds and then back to Julie's. It was a good run.

| | I used the elliptical for 15 minutes and the spin bike for 15. We are going out to dinner for New Years Eve. It is our family tradition. I'm glad that Kent is feeling well enough to go. This will be the first time out of the house in a month except for Dr visits. |
