I ran my first marathon at age 50 and have run 3 since then. I run 5K's, 10K's and half-marathons. I ran the Ogden Marathon in 2006 and finished in 4:35. I won Thrid Place in my age group.
Three of my daughters and I ran the Ogden Half Marathon. They did great and I was glad to just finish. I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon the end of March and pulled my hamstring and then got bursitis so I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted to.
I have slowed down a lot the past 10 years so my goal now is to keep running slow and steady until I die. I also ride bikes and am as fast as my daughters.
We have now switched from Marathons to 1/2 marathons and Triathlons. Last year Leslie and I did the Desert Sharks Triathlon and Daybreak. I won first in my age group in both because there are not many people in my age group.

Vikingman Triathlon September 10 2010 Won 1st in my age because I was the only one in my age group
March 2011 Riverton 1/2 Marathon 1st in my age group and there were actually 6 people in my age group.

| | Leslie and I swam at Marv's this afternoon. I did 20 laps front crawl, took a 1 minute break and did 10 more laps front crawl. I'm not as tired as I used to be when I swam so I must be getting a little better. I was on lap 4 when Leslie started and she still finished ahead of me. |
| | Leslie, Chrissy and I jogged three miles in the snow this morning. When we were ready to leave it was a blizzard but half way through the snow stopped. We went down redwood to 104th and back. Leslie held Duke and I went slow with Chrissy. I went even slower than usual because I didn't want to fall down. After breakfast I used the stationary bike for 30 minutes. | |
| | After work I did my leg weight exercises along with stomach and 70 mens pushups. After dinner Leslie and I went to Marv's to swim. I did 30 laps with only a few short breaks. |
| | I ran with Duke this morning. I had to be to work at 6 so I didn't have time to run with the BBK's. We ran down Redwood Road to 104th and then back. The sidewalks were clear and I had Duke so I was able to go a lot faster than Saturday. Saturday it took me 34 minutes and today it only took 25. | |
| | Didn't have a moment to even think about exercising. |
| | Met the BBK's at the church on 102nd and 3200. Mike and I got there early so we ran a 1/2 mile while we were waiting for the others. We ran around through some neighborhoods. I ran slow ith Michelle and Alan. Luckily they knew where they were because I couldn't tell which direction was which. On the second part of our run we ran down 3200 north. When got to 9800 a car came fast around the corner and 5 or 6 people had to jump out of the way. That was way too close for comfort but I'm glad no one was hit. Mike told me when we were a little past a mile so I could turn around and head back. Alan and Lynette turned around and ran back with me. This afternoon I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | After work I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. Even watching TV while riding I could hardly stand to ride for that long. |
| | Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class. We swam 40 minutes, bikes 40 minutes and ran 30 minutes. It was a good workout. | |
| | I did my leg weight and stomach exercises along with my 70 mens pushups. |
| | Met at Mike and Peggy's house for the early miles. Mike led the group. We ran out to 98th down to 13th west and past the temple to Y Worry Lane and then up past the retirement center out to redwood road. Then we ran north to the next street and turned east and ran back down to 13th west. We ran on 13th west north past 98th and turned left at the next subdivision and ran west and then turned south back to Mikes house. I only kept up for the first 1/2 mile and then was tired. I was about 500 feet back the rest of the run. I had to be to work at 6am so I left after the first part. After work I used the stationary bike for 20 minutes. Boy I hate riding the stationary bike. |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work. I'm going to running group in the morning and planning to run 6 so I added it on today because we are leaving after work to head for Arizona for my husband's sister's funeral. We won't be back until Sunday night and Monday morning at 7am our plane leaves for Hawaii so I won't be near a computer for about 1 1/2 weeks. |
| | We were in Kauii Hawaii and we woke up about 4 am, ate breakfast and then waited for it to get light enough to jog. We jogged along the beach until we reached the trail that went along the beach. It was beautiful and warm. We stopped several times to take pictures. We jogged 35 minutes out and 25 back. |
| | We woke up early like usual ate breakfast and watched TV until it was light enough to jog. Today we drove to the trailhead along the beach and ran along the trail for 30 minutes and then back for 30. It was very beautiful and there were many people, walking, running and biking. We took pictures along the way again. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | Met the BBK's at the South Jordan Libray for the early miles. I kept up for the first part of the run but got behind half way through. Duke helped pull me along but I still got tired. The second 3 miles I was even more tired and slow. I talked to Eric for a while but then I was too tired to keep up with him. I really don't know why running gets me so tired even when I go slow. When the group turned to go towards Dean's house I kept going straight along 13th west and then back to my car. I was so tired I barely made it back. | |
| | I did my leg weight exercise/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. |
| | Met the BBK's at Bingham for the regular miles. I didn't have to work until 7:30 so I didn't go to the early miles because I knew I wouldn't make it the whole time. We ran all over creation--through the subdivision across from Bingham, down to Redwood, then back through the subdivision and out to 2200 then past the equestrian park and to our 5K course. When we got to the place where we usually turn down we kept going straight on 2700 and did the horseshoe circle and back to bridle oaks and down to 2200 and then back to Bingham. The group kept regrouping which was very good for me because I was so slow and tired even with Duke pulling me that I wouldn't have even seen them. I was very glad to make it to the end. |
| | Met the group at a park in Bluffdale. Leslie was sick so I brought Duke. We ran around the park once and then back to the parking lot to pick up the strays. Then we went east to2200 then turned south and then after that I'm not sure where we went but we kept running for quite a while. Duke and I started out in front but I started getting tired very early and slowed down. Allen was going slow so we ran the rest of the run with him. The rest of the group was a ways ahead but we could still see them. It was nice to be able to go slow and still have someone to visit with. When we got back to the park Allen's garmin said 7 miles and the group was starting out on the next part of the run. Allen was tired and was going to stop, and I was tired but wanted to go 1 more mile so I ran a time or two around the park to make it 8 miles. |
| | I did my arm weight exercises. After dinner I swam at Marv Jenson's. I swam for an hour and did front crawl the whole time. I stopped a few times to talk to the other people that were swimming. |
| | Met the BBK's at the Country Crossing Park for the early miles. There was a new girl named Marty and she was going slow so I ran with her. I wasn't even dead after the 3 miles. The second part of our run we ran up to Daybreak Lake. After we got to the Lake I had to turn around and run back so I could make it to work by 7. It was a good run and I enjoyed visiting with Marty and others. After work and a nap I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. | |
| |
After work and a nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. Then I went to scouts. (I am now the 11yr old scout leader) After scouts and dinner I was going to swim but Leslie was still sick and I go lazy.
| | Met the BBK's at the park down from Tithing Hill. There were 11 of us for the early miles. We jogged through the park, past the other parking lot and into the subdivision. We ran up and down the roller coaster hill and turned left into a street that turned out to be a dead end so we went north to the next street and turned left and at the end was the parkway trail. We ran along the trail and were headed back to the place where we parked but we ran into some construction and had to walk for a minute. Then we started off again and a little way farther the trail was under water so we had to turn around and head back and go out onto the street again to get back to the park. Needless to say I was late for work since I had to be there at 6am, but I was only 15 minutes late. I had a good time visiting with Michelle Putnum who was able to come since she lives close to where we jogged. I also got to visit with Kelli and a few others. I really enjoyed the run even if I was late to work. After work and a nap I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. I'll be glad when I can ride outside again. | |
| | I went to my Triathlon class this morning without Leslie because she was sick still. We swam 40 minutes and then got out to spin. I had my key for my lock pinned on my swim suit but when I got out of the pool I couldn't find the key. I looked all over but still couldn't find it so I had them cut my lock off. The girl took my purse to the front desk while I went to the spin class. After spin class instead of running on the treadmill I went home and took Duke on a 3 mile run. It is so much nicer to run outside. I got a very good workout. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work. After dinner Leslie and I went to Marv's to swim. I stopped at Smith's on my way and bought a new lock. This time I got a combo lock. I swam 30 laps front crawl with a few short breaks. Leslie swam 40 laps with almost no breaks. |
| | Met the BBK's at Peggy's for the early miles. Marty was there so I went slow with her the first 3 miles. The second 2 miles I was at the front most of the way with Peggy and Mike. When we got to the hill a slowed way down. When we got to the top of the hill they all regrouped to do 400's and I headed back to my car so I could get to work. I really enjoyed the run. It's so much fun to have lots of people to run with. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. Instead of swimming, Ben, Becca and I went to Leslie's with Angie and Chrissy and made sugar cookies for Valentines Day. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the church by tithing hill. There was quiet a group. We started off and then circled the church to wait for the slow people. We decided to run through the neighborhoods because Lisa said the trail was still very torn up. We headed down the big hill and I notice that Marty was there. We were close to the front after the big hill but we both slowed down and everyone went ahead. I was faster than Marty so I kept turning around and going back for her because I didn't want her to have to run alone. When the group got to Lampton they turned and so did we so we were in the lead for a few minutes. Eric caught up with us so we ran with him for a few minutes. It was a good run and I enjoyed visiting. I had to leave quick to be to work at 6. After work and a nap I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. Leslie was too tired to swim after work and I was too lazy. | |
| | Leslie and I met the running group at the park in Riverton. There were lots of people there. Some we haven't seen for a long time like John the Iron man and his friend and Jameson and Kurt. There was also a new guy that Kelli brought name Jose. The group was doing the full 13 but Leslie and I didn't want to go that far because she has had bronchitis and I still get tired. We ran out to 13th west and the group stopped to head north. Leslie, Duke and I headed to the South County Pool and headed down to the Parkway trail from there. There were a few spots on the trail that were under construction and we had to walk over hoses and around holes but for the most part it was pretty good. We let Duke off his leash and he loved it. When we got to the water tower there were lots of runners coming from the other direction so Leslie put Duke back on his leash and held him. We went slow and steady and I didn't get too tired. Leslie was just a little way ahead but after the cemetary road I caught up to her along redwood and we stayed together until we got back to the cars. None of the group caught up with us. It was a good run. Next time we do a long run we will do the whole 13 mile course. | |
| | Since I was off work today I went swimming this morning. I swam 40 laps front crawl with a 30 second break after 30 laps. I think I am starting to get better at swimming because I'm not as tired now after 40 laps as I used to be after 10. Leslie had an eye infection so she didn't swim. After I swam, cleaned up and cleaned the house, Leslie, Becca and I drove to Ogden to take Bridget and Sicily to lunch. I don't know if I was more excited to see Bridget or Sicily. I haven't seen them since Christmas. We had a fun time. | |
| |
Met the group at the Park in Riverton for the early miles. We ran from the park through the subdivision and out to 3600 West and then south. Marty and I were at the back so when the group turned around we were at the front. It was a good run. For the second part we divided into two groups. One group did speed work and our group did a longer run. We did the same course as the early miles but instead of turning around we kept going down to 134th and then turned east. On the street before 2700 we turned north at ran through the subdivision to the park. The group was going to do another 2 mile run but I had to leave. After work and a nap I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. Tonight I have my scripture study group and then I'll watch American Idol. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. Leslie and I were too tired and lazy to swim. It's a lot easier to swim when I can do it earlier in the day. |
| |
Met the group at Julie's house for the early miles. We did a 3 mile loop through the neighborhood, out to 118th back through a neighborhood, out to 126th east for a ways and then back through a neighborhood to Julie's. Then for the main workout we did a 1.5 mile warmup and then we started at Julie's to do a 3 mile run. I only wanted to go 2 miles because I had to be to work at 7 so they told me where the mile mark was. When I got to the mile which was 118th I started back towards Julie's. Somewhere in the subdivison on the way back I got lost and couldn't find Julies house so I ran out to redwood road and south to 124th and turned towards Cheris's house and then found Julie's. I added and extra 1/2 mile to my run. Duke and I got a good workout. After work and a nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I went to my Triathlon class without Leslie because she was going to a women's conference. There were lots of people at the class. I am finally faster than a few people. We swam for 40 minutes than did spin for 40 minutes and then I came home and took Duke for a 3 mile run. I was tired after but not dead. | |
| | I took the day off of work today so I could go up to Ogden and tend Sicily. She has been sick and Glenn couldn't take another day off. I went to Marv's to swim this morning before I went to Ogden. I swam 40 laps front crawl with a couple of small breaks while I talked to other swimmers. I had a fun time tending Sicily. She is so cute and fun to play with. After dinner I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. |
| | Met the group for the early miles. We jogged down 2200 to 98th and then turned west towards 2700. We turned back south into the subdivision just before 2700 and then jogged over to Bridal Oaks where we headed east back to 2200. Then back to the school. When we were almost to the school Leslie came running towards me. I guess she, Michelle and Cheris were a couple of minutes late so they jogged a different course. For the second part of our run we ran over to Prospector and did an 800 loop twice and then Leslie and I had to leave. It was a good run and I wasn't too dead. |
| | After work I took a short nap and then did my arm weight exercises. Then I went to Scouts. I'm not swimming tonight because I a meeting for our upcoming women's conference. | |
| |
Met the BBK's at Parkway Palisades for the early miles. Chris and I both got there early so we ran about .2 of a mile while waiting for the others to get there. When the others got there we jogged down past parkway palisades to the road before 114th and then headed up through the subdivision and then through it and back around and then back down towards the park. We went past the park almost out to 106th and then back to the park. Duke and I were able to stay at the front the whole time. I had to be to work at 6am so I had to hurry and leave. It was a good run. |
| | I was planning on swimming this morning but was sick in the night so instead I am taking it easy until I leave to go to Tooele. I'm going out to help my oldest daughter for the weekend. She is having a big 16th Birthday party for her daughter and her husband had to go back to Argentina because his father is very sick and having surgery. Carrie has 9 kids, goes to school and works 30-40hrs a week as a home health nurse so she is very busy. I'm glad I can go and help her. We went to Denny's for dinner and I ate plenty so I hope I feel good enough to exercise tomorrow. |
| |
I'm staying with my daughter and her family in Tooele for a few days. This morning I went to Yoga with two of my daughters and two granddaughters. I've only done Yoga one other time in my life. Wow it was such a workout. It's a good thing I was able to at least do Yoga because I pigged out the rest of the Day. It was my granddaughters 16th birthday party and we had Pizza, cake, icecream and candy. I ate plenty. I'm feeling a lot better but I still have quite a cough.
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 men's pushups. After dinner Leslie and I swam. I still wasn't feeling the greatest so I only swam 1/2 and hour. I did 10 laps. Took a break to cough for a while and then did the swim drill where you do three strokes front crawl, flip over and do two back stroke, flip over and do 3 front crawl and alternate all the way back and forth. |
| | Met the BBK's for the early miles. Duke had to stop and use the bushes a few times and I wasn't feeling good enough to run and catch up with everyone so after they got too far ahead I turned around and headed a different direction. We eventually got back to the school and I was so wiped out and had a headache so I decided that 3 was good enough for today. I took a nap and then did 30 minutes on the stationary bike. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises. I was too lazy to swim. | |
| | Since the BBK's were meeting in Herriman I didn't have time to drive that far so I was going to Leslie's to run. When I called her at 5:30 she had a sore throat so I just ran with Duke. We ran down Redwood to 106th and back. After work and a short nap I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. | |
| | Leslie, Duke and I were going to run the Riverton 1/2 marathon course today but since we were both still a little under the weather we only went 7 miles. We started from my house, ran down 13th west to Lampton and then followed Lampton almost to the big hill and then ran down to the trail to the Park then we started up Tithing Hill and turned and ran through the condos and then back out and up to 13th west. Then we followed 13th west to the South County Pool and turned around and headed back. It was a good run and I wasn't super dead but I did have few cough attacks and a little bit of asthma at the end. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 men's pushups. After dinner I swam. I did 30 laps and didn't feel too bad after. |
| | Met the BBK's at the church on 102nd and 40th west for the early miles. Michelle M was going slow because she has and injury. I had a good visit with her. I stayed for part of the next hour and was tired. When we started up the big hill I started before everyone and stayed ahead for part of the run. By the end I was only ahead of Kris Bullock. I was very tired. After work and a short nap I used the stationary bike for 20 minutes. I have to help with a Relief Society activity at 4 pm so I didn't have time to do 30 minutes. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises. Leslie was still not feeling great and I was lazy so we didn't swim. | |
| | Met the group at the trailhead on 98th for the early miles. We ran up the big hill to 10th west, south on 10th west to 106th and then down to Kneaders and then turned on the street into the subdivision. Dean held the gate so we could all squeeze through. Then we ran through the subdivision to the parkway trail and back to the parking lot to meet the rest of the group. For the second part we ran north on the trail to the end and turned around and headed back. I stopped after I passed the second large building past 106th and turned around and headed back. Boy was I tired. After work and a short nap I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. |
| | Leslie, Duke and I met the group at Riverton Park to run the Riverton 1/2 marathon. Leslie took Duke and we started a few minutes before everyone else. I thought if I went slow enough I would be able to make it. Most of the group caught up with me as I was approaching the big hill. I asked Michelle how far the halfway mark was and she said 144th. Wow that made me think I would never make it. Alan and Eric caught up with me just before we turned to go on the parkway trail. I told them to tell Leslie Hi for me. When I got to the Tithing Hill condo's as I was going up the big hill, Leslie came running back down the hill with Duke. I guess she felt sorry for me because I was so slow. She wanted me to take Duke but I told her I was okay. When Leslie got to the light on 126th it was red so I caught up with her and Duke. As we were running down towards the South County Pool we noticed that Duke was limping. We decided to turn around and take Duke back to the car and go home. We made it home and I changed into shorts because I was too hot. We left Duke home and we went on another 4 mile run. Duke sat at the window and howled the whole time we were gone. We should have done more but I'm tending my grandkids for the weekend and I also needed to go to Costco and be to a baby shower at 1am. I enjoy tending my grandkids, but boy do they make a mess. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my 70 mens pushups. After dinner I met Leslie and Marv's to swim. She had to hurry so she only did 15 laps. I stayed and did 30 laps. |
| | I met the group at Riverton High for the early miles. Duke and I kept up for the first part but were at the very back by the end. I was very tired. Then I did the mile warmup before I had to leave. Before dinner Leslie came over and we rode our bikes. We rode down redwood to 118th and then west on 118th to 36th West. It was a lot of fun. Riding outside is so much nice than using the stationary bike. We would have gone farther but Leslie had to be to a Relief Society meeting. | |
| |
I did my arm weight exercises. Leslie and I didn't swim because I had a Scout meeting at 6pm that lasted until 8. |
| | Met the BBK's at the church on 124th and 11th west for the early miles. We ran down tithing hill to the parkway trail. We were running along the trail when Cheris screamed. She hit a plastic fence and knocked it down. We all jumped over it. The trail got rocky and uneven for a while where they were doing construction. We jogged along the trail for a while and then jogged back up into the subdivision. Going up the hill Michelle M caught up with me. She had gotten there late. She said she had twisted her ankle when she got to the rough spot. I'm glad it didn't hurt bad enough that she couldn't run. The hill got me very tired. Marty finally caught up with me and I ran with her the rest of the way. We got back to the church to pick up the other people. I stayed for the 1 mile warmup and then had to leave. Jogging along through the subdivisions in the dark really makes me loose my bearings. It's hard to tell which direction I am going. During the warmup run I ran along with Kris Bullock and neither of us could tell where we were going until we got back to 13th west. | |
| | This morning I ran 3 miles with Duke and then I went to my Triathlon class. After a hard swim and spin class I came home. I ran early because I am having a sister's lunch at my house at 11 am and needed to finish cleaning and making the lunch. Becca and Leslie helped me with the lunch and it turned out nice. | |
| | After work I took a short nap and then my visiting teachers came. I didn't have time to do my leg weight/stomach exercise because Leslie and I were going on a bike ride at 4:30. I'll have to do them on Friday when I am off work. We rode down redwood to 118th and up 118th to Herriman High School. Then we turned around and headed back down. Leslie still wasn't feeling up to par so I had to stop and wait for her a couple of times. The wind was blowing hard on the way back especially when we got to Redwood road. It took 35 minutes to ride up and 20 minutes to ride back. Next time we will ride to Highway 111. We need to get some long rides in before our Goldilocks 60 mile bike ride. | |
| | Met the group at Bingham for the early miles. Duke stopped 5 times to go potty so I got way behind and never caught up. I had to leave right when I got back to Bingham because I had to be to work at 6. After work I was to busy to swim. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 men's pushups. I had scouts after that and then went visiting teaching so I didn't have time to swim. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so I didn't have time to meet the BBK's at the church on 102nd and 40th W so I ran from my house down redwood road to the light and back. Duke came with me. After dinner Leslie and I were going to ride bikes but she ended up staying late at work. |
| | I was off work today so after breakfast and some cleaning I went to Marv's to swim. I felt tired while I swam. I did 10 laps took a short break, did 10 more took a short break and did 10 more. I sure hope I'm not tired tomorrow when I run the Riverton 1/2 marathon. I'm driving out to Tooele to take my oldest daughter to lunch for her Birthday. She turned 38 on Sunday. It is also my granddaughter Annika's Birthday today and since she is Carrie's daughter I will visit her while I am there. | |
| | I ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon. My goal was to make it to the end. The longest distance I've run in the past 6 months is 9 miles. I started off nice and slow and kept the slow pace most of the race. My school principal who is in my age group passed me up in the first mile but I caught her on the first downhill and stayed ahead of her the rest of the race. I only saw Leslie at the beginning and end of the race. We didn't bring Duke this time because when we ran the course to train he started limping at mile 5 so we stopped and took him home. I had to walk two times. The first time was on 144th going up the hill and the second time was the S curve. After I turned on the street past Walgren's my daughter Christine came running up to me and ran the last 1/4 mile with me. It really helped because I was feeling pretty dead by then. I finished in 2hrs 23mins and 26 seconds and was third in my age group. I was pretty wiped out at the finish line and had to lean on Christine until she helped me sit on the grass. Her kids were there holding a sign that said, "Go Grandma." I saw lots of people from our running group. We all wore purple and orange bands to remember Danny Dudley, Lisa's husband who died just 3 weeks ago. Lisa was the race director and we gave her our bands at the end and she cried and hugged us. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. After I got dinner ready Leslie and I rode our bikes. We rode South on Redwood to 118th and then west on 118th to Highway 111. It took about 45 minutes to get up to Highway 111 and about 25 minutes to get back home. Leslie wasn't quite a tired today so I only had to stop a couple of times and wait for her. It was very windy but luckily it was at our backs on the way up and blowing southwest on the way back. After dinner Kent, Ben, Becca and I went bowling for family night. Boy am I a crappy bowler but we had a lot of fun. |
| | Met the group at the SJ Library for the early miles. I had to be to work at 6am so couldn't stay longer. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. I have scouts before dinner and since I have tomorrow until Monday off I am taking the rest of the night off from exercise. Tomorrow I will run and swim, Friday jog with Leslie and Saturday swim and then a long bike ride. | |
| | Went to meet the BBK's for running group. It was a blizzard and I drove all over the place and didn't find the church they were meeting at. I came home ate breakfast and used the Eliptical and stationary bike. My daughter switched the TV in the exercise room and lost the remote for the converter so all I could stand on the Eliptical while staring at the wall was 10 minutes. Then I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike in my room while watching channel 2 news. I'm glad I don't have to exercise indoors every day. Leslie and I will probably swim today after she gets off work. | |
| | Duke and I met Chrissy at Leslie's house and we ran 4 miles. I was going to swim after but decided to go to the temple instead. Then I came home and spent a few hours cleaning. I'm going to get my car washed, spend some time in the greenhouse and then drive out to Tooele to pick up some of my grandkids. | |
| | I went to my Triathlon class and Leslie slept in. The class was hard but good. We swam 40 minutes did the spin bikes 40 minutes and then when the class used the treadmills I went home and got Duke and ran 3 miles with him. After I got home I ate breakfast, had a bath and cleaned the house. Then we had a family Easter party at Leslie's house. We ate Pizza decorated Eggs and had an Easter Egg hunt in Leslie's yard. Leslie really went hog wild with all the Eggs, candy and toys she got for all the grandkids. We all had a fun time. After a short nap I took the grandkids back to Tooele. |
| | After breakfast I cleaned the house, transplanted some flowers in the green house and did my arm weight exercises, then I went with Kent to look at a job and pick up some plans. When we got back home I had a nap, did more cleaning and indexing and then I made dinner. After dinner Leslie and I went swimming. I swam 20 laps. I didn't have time to swim any longer because we were going to the "Reflections of Christ" are display for family night. |
| | I met the BBK's for the early miles. I kept up for the first mile but after Duke stopped three times I was quite a ways behind after the first 3 miles. By the time we started the next part of the run I was already tired. We did a mile warm up and then regrouped. We ran down to Rustic Roads and then did our 5K course and then ran back. I was so tired by the time we got to the hill that I was even behind Rachel who is pregnant and still running. By the time I got back to the school I was so tired I could barely run. At least I made it 7.5. Maybe if I keep doing longer miles it will get easier. After work and a short nap I used the stationary bike for 30 minutes. I will sure be glad when the weather is warm enough to ride our bikes outside. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 pushups. I have scouts this afternoon so I made dinner in the crock pot. Leslie has to go to a wedding reception so we are not swimming or biking. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the church on 102nd and 40th W. I started out in the lead because Duke gets so excited but by the time we were 1 mile into the run I was fading back fast. Duke stopped several times to use a bush. By the time we met the group for the main workout I was already tired. We headed south on 40th west towards the temple. I was dreading running up the hill and back but the group stopped on the street that leads into Leslie subdivision and we regrouped and did a loop around the neighborhood instead of going up the hill. I was very tired and glad Rachel wasn't going too fast. After the first loop I had to leave. I was so tired I barely made it back to my car. After work and a short nap I used the stationary bike for 30 minutes. It's warm enough weather to ride bikes outside but I have a Stake Women's Conference that I am helping with at 5pm and Leslie has a R.S. meeting after work. | |
| | Leslie and I jogged 3 miles while she held Duke. Then we went on a long bike ride. We rode from my house to Redwood south to 118th south and west on 118th up to the Bachus Highway. We turned left and rode up the hill to the entrance to Kennecott and then we rode back home. It took an hour and 5 minutes on the way up and about 35 minutes on the way back. I had to go slow so Leslie could keep up so I didn't get out of breath at all except on the big hill and I went ahead of her and didn't wait for her until I got to the top. On the way back the wind was really blowing and it was cold. By the time we got back we were both frozen. I made breakfast for us and then took a long hot bath. Now we are going to Cassie's(granddaughter) baptism. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. Then I did some cleaning, indexing and made dinner. After dinner I was going to swim but Leslie didn't have time and then it started raining so I talked myself out of it. I stayed home and made raspberry freezer jam instead. | |
| | If you like running in a snow storm you would have enjoyed my run with the BBK's this morning. We met at Bingham and I thought I was going to be the only one until Michelle M,. Julie, Jerry and Cheris came. When we started out it was just a light slushy rain, but by the time we finished the first mile it was snowing big flakes and by the end of the 3 miles it was a blizzard. They jogged a nice slow pace so I was able to keep up with them. When we got back to Bingham Mike and Peggy were running towards us in the parking lot. They said Cheryl was the only other person that came and she decided to go to the rec center. After about 1 mile for our second round the snow stopped and I had to turn around and head home. I was soaked from head to toe and so was Duke but we both enjoyed the run. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 80 mens pushups. After dinner I went swimming at Marv's. I swam 20 laps front crawl then took a 1 minute break and did 10 more laps front Crawl. | |
| | I met the BBK's at the SJ soccer fields for the early miles. We ran the SJ old 5K route backwards. Duke and I were able to stay up with the group the whole time. The second time we did it backwards also and I started early and was passed by everyone except Debbie and Rachel. I was able to stay with them the whole time. The very best part is that I didn't feel like death warmed over during the whole 6 miles and I even felt pretty good afterwards. After work I took a short nap, got my hair cut and then went on a 1hr bike ride with Leslie. We were going to ride to Kennecott and back but we both forgot our phones so we didn't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere without a phone so we went up 118th to where it joins with 114th and instead of turning west we went east and rode through Daybreak. We rode past the lake to 104th and east to 40th west, then we went south on 40th West past the temple and rode to 118th and then east to Redwood and back home. We don't know how far we went but it took and hour. It is sure nice to have good weather so we can ride outside. | |
| | I went with my 11 year old scouts on a 5 mile walk along the Jordan River Parkway. It was fun. I had to stop a lot and remind them to keep moving. It took us 1hr and 45 minutes. Then I went with my daughter and her friends so Sizzler. Kent was in charge of the blood drive so we will have to go on our date tomorow. |
| | We met the group at Riverton Park. Leslie was still on her way for the 3 mile warmup so after we got to Redwood Road I turned around and headed back to the park to pick up Leslie. We then ran back to Redwood and turned South. We went south until the next street and couldn't see the rest of the group so we turned around and ran back to the park. Then we ran past the park and down to 13th west. Then we ran back to the park. Julie was there for the next part of the run. We visited for a minute and then told her we were going to start the Riverton 10K course. I went nice and easy and Leslie took Duke so she was ahead of me. The weather was just perfect and I was glad I had on a tank top and shorts. After we turned around and headed back we saw the other runners. One by one they caught up and passed me. When Jameson got to Leslie he took Duke for the rest of the run. The only ones I beat were Kris Bullock, Debbie Kroll and Amy Jameson's wife. When we got back to the park we talked for a minute and then headed down to the parkway trail. We ran along the trail until the 3 mile turn around and headed back. We let Duke off his leash and he loved it. He played in the mud and water along the way so I was very glad that Leslie had an old sheet in her car that I put on the back seat so Duke wouldn't get mud all over my car. Later this afternoon Duke started limping so I guess we let him run too far.
| |
| | I didn't exercise at all today. I tended my youngest granddaughter over night and she didn't want to sleep. I got about 4 hours of sleep. After work I took a short nap and went and picked up my granddaughter from Angie who tended her while I was at work. I sure hope she sleeps better tonight. |
| | I was still tending my granddaughter so I wasn't able to meet the running group. I got a little more sleep but not enough. My daughter came and picked up her little girl at 4pm. It was a lot of fun taking care of her but it sure wears you out. Leslie and I rode our bikes after Bridget picked up Sicily. We rode out to Kennecott and back. It only took us 54 minutes to get to Kennecott which is about 10 minutes faster than last time. I rode behind Leslie until we got to the big hill so I wouldn't get too far ahead of her. It was a good ride and a lot of fun. |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. Then I had scouts and went to the temple. I had two nephews that were going through the temple. They are both going on missions. |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so I ran with Duke before work. I didn't want to go too far with him because he has had a sore leg and been limping since our run last Saturday. I went from my house to Redwood and north to the light at the city center about 1/4 mile from the light on 106th. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 men's pushups. We are not swimming or biking after Leslie gets off work because she is taking me to the Melting Pot. |
| | I didn't exercise a all today. I took the day off work and went up and tended Sicily while Bridget and Glenn went to her graduation. She graduated with a dual major of Early Childhood development and Elementary Education. I had fun tending Sicily. Tonight Kent and I went to Red Robyn for dinner. |
| | Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class and only stayed for the swim. Then we went home, ate some yogurt and got ready to go biking. We did a long bike ride. We did the prison loop and then instead of coming home when we got to 118th we turned west and rode out past daybreak and back. I could have gone farther but Leslie was getting tired. I am counting the miles on my running blog because I don't know how to put in biking miles and I don't want it to look like I haven't done anything.
| |
| | After work and a short nap I went to help Christine. She has been having back problems and now is to the point where she can hardly walk. She will be having back surgery soon. I cleaned her kitchen, scrubbed her floor and did some laundry. Then I came home and made a dessert for my husband's birthday and then made dinner. After dinner I did my arm weight exercises and cleaned the kitchen. Then everyone came over for Kent's Birthday. I made strawberry cream cheese pie and it was good. |
| | I woke up at 3am and didn't get back to sleep. I met the BBK's for the early miles. I didn't bring Duke so I only saw everyone from the back. After the mile warmup I couldn't see anyone so I just ran down to 126 and went down the road a ways and then turned around and headed back. When I got back Debbie was there so I ran around the parking lot with her. During the second part I started before everyone and we did the same warm up. I stayed ahead for about 2 seconds. Even Kris, and Debbie passed me up. The group stopped at the street heading south and I told them not to wait because I couldn't stay long. It sure isn't as much fun without Duke. I hope his leg feels well enough to run next week. After work and a short nap I went and helped Christine again. Her leg is even worse today than yesterday. I sure hope they can operate soon. Leslie and I were going to run until the wind started blowing hard. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. |
| | I met the BBK's at The Park in Riverton. For our warmup we ran the route that goes past Stamping Up and out to 3600 West and then South to 134th and then East until we get to the street that turns back to the park. I started a few seconds ahead of everyone but I was soon quite a ways behind. I tried to run fast but even my fast running is slow. I could still see the other runners when I got to 134th but I wasn't sure where to turn. Before I got to the turnoff, Julie and Kelli came jogging back to find me. I was glad they came to find me because without Duke I don't feel as safe running alone. When we got back Cheris was there along with a couple of others. They were going to do a mile warmup and then another run. I decided to just run around the block by the park. I ran around the block two times. I thought it was only a half a mile but then Cheris said she thought it was closer to a mile. After I was done running I measured it with my car and it was about .9miles. I was glad because I was very tired. I am taking Duke to the Vet this afternoon to get his leg checked out. |
| | I took the day off work today for my Anniversary. It's my 39th Anniversary today. Kent and I are going to the Garden Restaurant in the JSMemorial bld. for lunch and then going to the genealogy library. This morning I drove over to Leslie's and we were planning on doing a 5 mile run. We ran south on 40th west to 118th and then east to redwood and north to 114th. When we got to 114th it was 5 miles and we were going to turn around and go back but Leslie was feeling sick so we just ran to my house and after we ate a bowl of cereal I drove Leslie home in Kent's old truck. I left the truck there and drove my car home. We will pick it up later. | |
| | I didn't do any exercise today. I had a granddaughter's baptism in Tooele at 9am. We didn't get home until 12:30 and by then I had so much to do that I didn't have time to exercise. The baptism was nice and I enjoyed visiting with the family. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. After dinner Leslie and I swam at Marv's. I did 20 laps and took a short break and did 6 more laps. | |
| | Met the group at the church on 102nd and 40th West. For our early run we ran from the church up the road and through the subdivision then back out to 40th. I was quite far behind by then so while they crossed the street and kept going east I turned south on 40th west and headed back to the church. When I got back to the church I turned east and ran down and met the other runners and came back to the church. With my shortcut I think I ran 2.5 instead of 3. For the second part we ran south on 40th west up the hill to the temple. The group turned west through the temple parking lot but I just kept going straight past the temple and down the other side and then I turned around and headed back because I had to be to work at 7. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 60 men's pushups. My arms were extra tired from lift 20 50# bags of flour and other heavy cases of food at work. We were too lazy to swim tonight. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the Trailhead on 98th for the early miles. At first I was the only one there but Julie and Kellie got there at 5:15 and then after we got out of our cars and decided where to run several more people came. We went north along the trail to the end and then turned around. I started ahead of everyone so when we turned around I was still ahead of a few people. Then we passed the parking lot and kept going south. Everyone was ahead of me by then but I kept going until they all turned around and headed back. For the second part we had a few more people. We headed north again but didn't go clear to the end. Then we turned around and headed south. They all stopped at the parking lot to decided what they were going to do. I kept going because I knew they would all pass me. After everyone passed and were a way down the trail I tripped and fell. I got road rash on my arm, shoulder and knee. I jumped back up and kept going. We ran past 106th and down the trail a ways and then when everyone turned around so did I. They all stopped after crossing under 106th going north but I kept going back to the car because I had to be to work at 7am. After work I laid down for a short nap and then the phone rang and woke me up. As I turned to answer the phone I noticed that my shoulder was really hurting. If I move a certain way it really hurts. I hope it will be okay for my 60 mile bike ride on Saturday.
|
| | Leslie and I did our Goldilocks 60 miles bike ride today and since I don't know how to put in under biking I put in under running. Boy 60 miles is a long ride. We stopped at one rest stop and at Daybreak for lunch and it took us just over 5 and a half hours. We started out at Herriman Park and wove around through the subdivision and out to the 134th and up past Butterfield Canyon and Kennecott. Then we rode east on 118th to 3600 west and then north to 144th and out to Redwood Road. Then we rode south to Camp Williams where we had our first rest stop. It's a good thing we had a rest stop there because coming up the hill I got a flat tire. When we got to the rest stop there was a man fixing tires so I figured he was a volunteer with the race to help fix bikes. I took my bike back and he fixed it. Then I found out he was just following his wife and just helping to be nice. I'm glad he fixed my flat because it probably would have taken me an hour. We had snacks and used the portapotty. Then we continued south for a while and turned east and then went south again for a while then east and then we went through Thanksgiving Point and then started north. Boy there were sure lots of hills. Then we went west on 118th and then turned north and ended up at Daybreak for lunch. After lunch we rode back up 118th to highway 111 and then north to the Old Bingham Highway. Then we went east to 40th west and then south past the Oquirrh Temple and then west past Daybreak and turned south at 6400 west and then when we got to Rosecrest Subdivision we wove around the subdivision for a while and ended up at Herriman Park. It was a long ride and I was tired. I went quite slow because I waited for Leslie. She still isn't feeling up to par and felt quite sick and tired by the end. I finally convinced her that she should get a check-up. We saw people from our Tri class and Kris Bullock and Michelle Margetts from running group. I really enjoyed the ride. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. Leslie and I were going to swim but we decided to swim tomorrow instead so I cleaned my house since I didn't have time on Saturday to do any cleaning. |
| | Met the BBK's at SJ soccer fields for the early miles. We did the 5K course backwards. I only saw the group for a few moments and then I was by myself. Now that I can't run with Duke anymore I have to learn to run all over. I am very slow, but I decided that it doesn't matter how slow I am I am just glad that I can run. When I finished the 5K the first time the group was already starting on their next run. I decided not to worry about the group and just do the 5K course the other direction. I was slow and steady but I made it the whole way and got 6 miles in. I was very glad that I could go 6 miles. After work I took a short nap and then tended Sicily while Bridget had a job interview. She just graduated and is interviewing for an elementary teacher position. I had a fun time playing with Sicily. After dinner I met Leslie and Marv Jenson's and we swam 20 laps. | |
| | I started doing my leg weight/stomach exercises but by the third round my leg muscle on the inside of my thigh hurt too much to bend down so I stopped. I finished the stomach exercises and called it good. I don't know what I did to the muscle but it only hurts when I bent a certain way. |
| | Met the BBK's at parkway palisades for the early miles. We ran up past the cemetery and out to 13th west. I was a way behind and I don't know if they turned before parkway palisades but I went down parkway palisades. By the time I got back they were ready to go again. I was already very tired. I took off my warm stuff and headed out. I told them I was going to do my own thing. I just jogged up to where they usually start and went back and forth down the the straight road until I had gone 30 minutes and then headed home. Running is very hard and really gets me tired but I will keep on running as long as my body will let me. After work Leslie and I will ride bikes. | |
| | Leslie and I were going to run 10 miles today but because of a mix up we only went 6. I thought she was coming to my house and she thought I was coming to her house. She called at 7:15 wondering where I was. By then it was getting late and we both had flowers to plant so I drove to Leslie's and we ran from her house up to daybreak and around the lake and then back. She went slow for me so I wasn't dead at the end. Then I spent the next 3 hours planting flowers that we grew in our greenhouse. Then Christine took me to El Farol for lunch for my mother's day present. It was sure good. After a short nap I went to the temple. | |
| | I didn't have time to do my arm weight exercises today. After work I went visiting teaching and then I took a short nap. After my nap I followed my husband down to Lindon to drop off my son's truck to get fixed. After A I made dinner, Leslie and I rode our bike down redwood to 126th and then west to 40th west and then north to 98th, down to Redwood and back home. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6am today so I just ran at 5am and ran down redwood to 106th and back. It's a lot harder running without Duke but I don't think he is going to be able to run for a long time. When I got to work my daughter called and said her water broke so I left work and headed to Ogden. I got here at 8:30 am to tend Sicily while Glenn took Bridget to the hospital. Deklan Glenn Hoggan was born at 10:30 and mom and baby are doing fine. He is my 25th grandchild and is just as cute as all the rest. I will stay overnight with Sicily and come home tomorrow afternoon. | |
| | I got back from Bridget's at about 10:30 this morning. I did my arm weight exercises. Then I did some cleaning, went to Costco, took a short nap and went visiting teaching. Then I went to Scouts. | |
| | I met the BBK's at the church 112th and 3200 west for the early miles. There were just 5 of us for the early miles, me Michelle, Walter, Kelli and Julie. I wasn't too far behind, at least I could see where they went. We wove around through the subdivision and then back out to 3200 and then north to 106th and then back. I turned around before I got to 106th when I saw the others coming back. When Julie and Michelle caught up with me they said it was good I turned around because we were already at 3 miles with about a 1/2 mile to go. More people came for the regular run. I was tired by then and my goal was to just keep going for another 30 minutes. I made it but was very tired. After work I took a short nap, planted more flowers, did some filing for my husband and then went with Leslie to get her new bike. It is a lot nicer bike and weighs about half as much as the other. I think she will be a lot faster. Then I came home, made dinner and took Duke for his immunizations. |
| | I didn't have to be to work until 7:30 so I did my arm weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups before work. After work I helped Kent clean out his truck and then took a short nap. We may ride bikes later if it doesn't storm. |
| | We were suppose to go to a swim clinic at the Blackridge Reservoir but It was rainy and cold so we decided to go to our Tri class at Marv's. We did the swim an spin bike and got a good workout. Neither of us wanted to run on the treadmill and we had so much going on today we decided not to run outside either. We have to pick up some furniture for Jenny and then make dinner at take it up to Ogden so we can see our new grandson. We will also be excited to see Sicily and her parents too. | |
| | I did my arm weight/stomach exercises. |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so I went to Bingham about 10 minutes early and jogged around the parking lot. Then we did our usual warmup but I cut it short by a few minutes. After Leslie got off work we rode bikes. Wow Leslie's new bike sure made a difference. I went as fast as I wanted to and she was able to keep up. She now has a computer on her bike so we can tell how far and fast we go. We went just over 12 miles. | |
| | Leslie and I went to a swim clinic at Blackridge reservoir. We both had wetsuits but boy was it cold. We were in the water about 35 minutes and our feet and hands were numb when we got out. The Tri swim at daybreak won't be quit as cold because we will be swimming the whole time instead of treading water listening to instructions. |
| | Met the BBK's at the SJ soccer fields. I started a couple minutes before everyone and they finished a couple of minutes ahead of me. I'm glad I made it the whole 3 miles. I would liked to have stayed for the rest of the run but I had to be to work at 6am. After work I took a much needed nap (I woke up at 3am this morning) then I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. | |
| | Leslie and I picked up our packets for the Daybreak Triathlon. There was sure a crowd there and it took quite a while. I'm a little nervous for the swim. It was freezing when we swam at the Blackridge reservoir on Wednesday and I don't think it will be much warmer tomorrow at Daybreak. I plan on just making it through the swim and then going all out on the bike ride and then surviving the run. |
| | I'm counting my biking and running. Leslie and I did our Daybreak Triathlon. The swimming was the hard part. The water was freezing cold, but we waited so long to start that my feet were already frozen. They started in waves and I was the very last wave. It was my first Tri in open water and I had a hard time going straight towards the bouy. I got very tired and had to do sidestroke and back stroke. I kept plugging along and made it to the end. When I got out I was very tired and light headed so they made me sit down for a few minutes before they let me ride my bike. The bike was uphill the first half but I still did well. I passed a few people. The way back was very easy, all downhill. I passed a few more people. The first part of the run was hard. My legs felt like rubber. I walked for about 100 yards and ate a granola bar. Then I ran the rest of the way. I was very slow but I made it to the end. I got 1st in my age. Leslie finished about 10 minutes ahead of me, but she also started about 5 minutes before me. I think we both did well. | |
| | Leslie and I ran the steeplechase training run. There were about 200 people there. Leslie ran ahead of me and finished at least 5 minutes ahead of me. We took a 5 minute break and drank some water and I ate my candy and then we headed back. We ran/ walked back up to the start. I was pretty tired and Leslie went slow for me. | |
| | I met the BBK's at the trailhead on 98th. I was a minute late so only Michelle M and Cheris were there. I ran with them for a few minutes until I couldn't keep up. When I got past 106th and headed south I saw the other runners coming back. I turned around and headed back. Everyone passed me before I got back. When I got back I was so tired I could hardly walk so I decided that 2 miles was good enough for today. After work and a nap I did my arm weight exercises. Leslie had enrichment and I had a temple recommend interview so we didn't swim or bike. |
| | Leslie and I rode our bikes south on Redwood to 126th and then west to 3600, then north to 118th then west to 40th west, then north to 98th, east to redwood and then south to 114th. It was about 12-14 miles and it took us about 50 minutes. It sure is nice that Leslie can keep up with me now. I'm really glad she got a new bike. It was a very enjoyable ride. |
| | Met the BBK's a Julie's house for the early miles. Cheris and Kris were already running around the street while waiting for the others so I joined them. Then we ran a course through the subdivision, out to 118th west to the next street and then south through the subdivision and back to Julie's. I was a way behind but just went a steady, slow pace. I made it to the end and wasn't dead but I had to be to work at 6 so I left. Today was my last day of work until August 23rd. |
| | My first day off work for the summer. After breakfast I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. Then I went to the temple and came home and started cleaning the house. | |
| | I went to my Triathlon class and swam for 40 minutes. Then I came home, showered and went to help clean the church. After I was finished cleaning the church I came home and cleaned the house. At about 10:30 Leslie and I went on a 50 mile bike ride. We followed a lot of the same course we did for the Goldilociks bike ride. We stopped twice to eat snacks and rest. With Leslie's new bike she was able to keep up with me most of the time. It took us about 4 hours. | |
| | I went to Leslie's and we ran from her house north on 40th West to 106th and west up to daybreak and ran around the lake. As we were running across one of the bridges my foot stuck on a raised edge and I fell down. Leslie tried to catch me and she fell down too. We both jumped back up and kept running. The weather was just perfect for running and Leslie went slow so I wasn't dead at the end. We were going to swim in blackridge reservoir tonight but we decided not to because of the thundershowers. | |
| | Met the BBK's at parkway palisades but not for the early miles. We ran our 2 miles route around parkway palisades and then met at the base of the big hill. Most of the group was going to do hill repeats. Debbie, Kris and I decided to run along the parkway trail. I ran slow so I could make it for 60 minutes. Debbie and Kris turned around a couple of times and came back for me. I made it for 60 minutes but was very tired at the end. Then I came home showered and cleaned for about an hour. Then I went to tend Christine's kids for the day because she had two Dr. appointments. They are still trying to find out why she can't lift her leg. The first Dr. was a physiatrist. (Whatever that is) He said her brain had forgotten how to tell her leg how to move. The next Dr. was a neurologist and he told her she had nerve damage and needed physical therapy. So for now she will go back to physical therapy and see if it helps. After I was finished tending, Leslie and I rode bikes. We rode up 118th just past daybreak and back. It was 10 miles and it took us 40 minutes. I'm glad Leslie has a computer on her bike now so we can tell how far and fast we are going. | |
| | Met the Bunners at the rec center for our bike ride. There were 7 of us. We did the usual course down redwood to 126th then west to 3600, north to 118th, west to 40th west, north past the temple to 98th, east to redwood and back home. It was a good ride and I really got a workout trying to keep up with all the fast people. After dinner Leslie and I went to the Blackridge Reservoir to swim. There were lots of people there swimming and canoeing. It was a lot warmer than last time. We only swam for about 15 minutes when it started to rain and thunder. We got out right away. Next time maybe we can swim longer. I wasn't cold at all when we got out. |
| | Went to Leslie's to run this morning. It was cool and sprinkling rain but it felt good. Leslie went very slow for me. We only went 3 miles because Leslie's knee was hurting. When I got home I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. Then I did lots of cleaning, took a nap, went to scouts and then went to dinner with my husband and son. |
| | Leslie and I met our running group a Cheris's house. We went on a 11 mile run. Leslie and I started out while the others did a warmup run. We ran down Redwood to 134th then west to 2700 and then south to 144th then west to 3600, then north to 118th, and then east to redwood and back to Cheris's house. Leslie went slow for me so I was tired at the end but not dead. It was rainy so we were soaked at the end but I was not cold. | |
| | I went to Leslie's and we did our run from her house up to daybreak lake and around the lake and then back to Leslie's. She stayed with me for most of the run but at the end she ran ahead. I decided that it doesn't matter if I am slow as long as I can make it the whole way. After lunch and a nap I will do my arm weight exercises. | |
| | I met the BBK's at the Bingham track. Rachel was there so I ran around the track with her. After a few laps of warmup we ran 2 laps and walked one. It was nice to visit with her and it's hard to believe she can run faster than I can when her baby is due tuesday. At 5 pm Leslie and I went to Blackridge Reservoir to swim. We did a circle swim around the edge of the reservoir. We stopped once to rest. It is sure a lot harder swimming in open water. It was a good swim. Maybe next time we will go twice around. |
| | Met the Bunners at the Rec center for our bike ride. There were only 5 of us but we had a good ride going our usual route. Leslie and I didn't swim or bike after she got off work because my daughter's ex husband died and we had she and all the grandkids over for the night. |
| | I went to Leslie's house to run. We only went 3 miles because Leslie had to be to work early. It was nice to talk to Leslie and go over ideas of what we can do to help our 4 grandkids whose father just passed away.
| |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. Then I had my daughter and her 9 kids sleep over so I made a very large dinner. My other daughter came with her 4 kids also but they didn't sleep over. |
| | I got up to go to my tri class. I thought it was at the South County Pool so I decided to just ride my bike there. Leslie had some of the older grandkids sleeping at her house so she decided to sleep in. When I got to the South County Pool no one was there so I just rode back home. Then I was going to go on a short run but my son decided he would ride a bike with me. We rode down to redwood and turned the corner and he told me he wasn't feeling well so we came back. We were all going to the South Jordan parade so after that I didn't have time to do any more exercise. The parade was long but good. All the kids had fun. Then I went to the store and bought more groceries and had everyone over for a Barbecue. My youngest daughter and her husband and two kids came too. Everyone was excited to see her new baby. It was a lot of fun but it was really wild city. Even though we used paper plates and cups I've still loaded the dishwasher 3 times today. Everyone finally left at about 4:30 and boy is it quiet now. Kent, Ben, Leslie and I went to Kneaders for dinner.
.
| |
| | I went to Leslie's and we ran from her house up to Daybreak Lake, around the Lake and back to her house. It took us about 1 hour and 5 minutes. We think it is just over 6 miles but neither of us has a garmin so we are just guessing. After dinner Leslie and I went to Blackridge Reservoir to swim. I also had my grandson Josh so I stayed by the shore with him and swam back and forth while Leslie swam around the whole reservoir. My grandson thought it was very cold but it was so much warmer than the first time we swam that it felt warm to me. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the South County Pool. We did a warm up and then we did 400 repeats. After that we did hill repeats. Although I was always behind everyone at least I could still see them for the whole run. This afternoon we took my grandson back out to Tooele and ate dinner with them. When we got home Leslie and I went on a short bike ride. We rode 6 miles and it took just over 20 minutes. |
| | Leslie and I met the Bunners at the Rec Center. We were the only ones there so we started riding and Michelle and Curt caught up with us. We did our usual course. Michelle is as fast on the bike as she is running. She and Curt turned around and came back for us when they got to 3600. Then when we got to Bangerter Curt rode over the bridge and we followed (bad idea). I didn't shift down enough and had to walk my bike up and it was also very hard to ride around the tight corners. We didn't see Curt after that but Michelle waited at the Rec center for us to catch up. This afternoon I will do my arm weight exercises. | |
| | Leslie and I decided that since we are going to be riding 100 miles on Saturday that 3 miles was good enough for today. We ran from Leslie's house up the hill by the temple and then got on the trail by the side of the temple and ran back and forth. On the way back we ran along 114th to 40th west and ran up the hard side of the hill and then down and back to Leslie's. Even though we only ran 3 miles with all the hills I still got a good workout. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 60 mens pushups. I have a sore shoulder/back muscle so I wasn't able to do my 70 pushups. Leslie and I are leaving at 12:30pm to go to Logan for our MS Bike Ride. We are staying with one of Leslie's friends.
| |
| |
I put our biking miles on since I don't now how to separate them. Leslie and I went to Logan to do the MS 100 mile bike ride. We stayed with Leslie's former mission companion. It was nice to visit with her and her friend. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and it was delicious. We a.had to be at the place at 5:55am for team photos and then the ride started at 7am. Then we got in line for breakfast. While I was in line I saw Debbie Worthen the channel 2 weather girl and since my son told me to tell he "hi," I said Hi Debbie, my son Ben told me to tell you Hi. She said tell Ben I said Hi back. There were 3000 bikers at the start of the ride. Leslie and I started out at a medium pace because we wanted to make it to the end. We rode all over creation. We skipped the first rest stop and the second one too. We did stop at the rest stop at mile 28. We met Sherry and Joy, two of our other teammates there. Sherry was tired so Leslie stayed back and went slower with her and I went faster with Joy. Joy was very fast and I stayed with her for about 10 miles. I stopped at the rest stop at mile 50 and was eating trail mix and resting when I saw Leslie pull in. I was very glad to see her. Sherry was so tired that she took the turn off for the 75 mile route instead of going 100. Leslie and I continued on, I was a little tired and was glad to go a little bit slower. We were in Idaho now and rode all over creation there. We stopped at the rest stop at about mile 65 so Leslie could use the port-a-potty and then continued on. We got to the rest stop at mile 75 and stopped and ate lunch. It was a good lunch and a nice rest. Then we continued on. If there was a big hill I would go fast and wait for Leslie at the top. We skipped the last rest stop and kept riding. We made it to the finish in 7 hours not counting the stops. We both felt good about the time. We thought it would take us at least 8 hours. There were not as many steep hills as there was in the Goldilocks ride. We got our medals and patch for going the full 100 and headed home.
| |
| | I went to Leslie's this morning and we ran our usual route around daybreak lake. I came home and did some indexing and cleaning. After a short nap I picked peas and shelled them for about 4 hours. |
| | Met the BBK's at Parkwaay Palisades. I was a couple of minutes late so they had already left. I could see them up ahead heading for the cemetery. When I caught up they were just discussing what we were going to do. Some went on a tempo run and the rest did speed work around the cemetery. I stayed for the speed work but just did my own thing. I just ran around the cemetery and back down the hill and up again and then turned around and did it again two more times. Then we ran back to the park and they continued on but I was so tired I just left. Running sure does get me tired.
|
| | I still can't figure out how to put in biking and swim miles so I am just putting them all in running. Met the Bunners at the Rec Center. Michelle, Dean, Kris and Allen came. My new name for Michelle is Lance. She is trying to become the new Lance Armstrong. I tried to keep up but couldn't. I kept up with Kris most of the time. I really got a good workout. This afternoon I will do my arm weight exercises and then Leslie and I will swim at the Blackridge Reservoir. | |
| | Leslie and I only jogged 1 mile and walked 1/2 mile. We ran from her house to the light on 106th and then her leg was hurting too bad so we turned around and walked back home. I was fine with not going far because I had allergies bad last night and didn't get much sleep. Then I came home and cleaned, took a short nap and met my daughter, her husband and two kids at the zoo. It was Sicily's (my granddaughter) Birthday and we celebrated it at the zoo. It was a lot of fun, but tons of walking and boy was it hot. It's a good thing we walked a lot because tonight we went to the Pizza Pie Cafe that my husband wired for a free buffet. It was very good but of course I ate too much. They had a salad bar, pasta bar, pizza and dessert pizza so of course I had to try everything. |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. | |
| | Leslie and I helped register the people for the Riverton 10K. It was slow at first but got very busy towards the end. We barely had time to use the restroom and get in line for the race. I took it nice and easy and I actually felt pretty good the whole race. I finished in 1hr and 5 minutes and was first in my age. I was the only one in my age group. There were 3 people in the age group younger than me but I don't know what there times were. Leslie finished in 55 minutes. After the race I came home and cleaned. Then Bridget, Glenn and their kids got here, followed by Jenny and her 5 kids. Leslie took most of the kids to the park while I took Jenny to lunch for her Birthday. Then we came back and watched Bridget's kids so they could go see Twilight. Then we went to Leslie's for a BBQ. Now I need to get my house cleaned again because Bridget is having her baby blessed in our ward and everyone is coming over here after to eat.
| |
| | Went to Leslie's to run. Her thigh was still feeling stiff so we only went 3 miles. We ran down past her church to the canal road. Then we ran along the road to 106th and back. Then I came home showered and went to my Dr. appt. Then I cam home and rode bikes with my son. We only rode for 10 minutes because he is very out of shape. We will increase each day. Then Kent, Ben and I went to lunch. | |
| | I didn't see the running email so I ran by myself down redwood to 106th and back. Then I did my arm weight exercises, cleaned the house and went with Christine and her kids to the living planet aquarium. It was fun. | |
| |
I met the bunners at the rec center. Alan, Dean, Curt and Michelle all came. We rode south on redwood to 126th and then up 126th to 60th west. Either I was very slow or everyone else was very fast because once we started up 126th everyone got way ahead of me. I almost caught up with Alan at the light on Bangerter, but he made it through the light and I didn't. When I got to 60th West I rode to 118th and then east to redwood and home. Later in the day I checked my tires and they were low so I filled them. I took a short ride with my son and it was a lot easier with full tires. After dinner Leslie and I swam at Blackridge reservoir. We swam around the outside of the reservoir so if we needed to stop we could touch bottom. I stopped twice for about 10 seconds each time. We made it back around and I wasn't too dead.
|
| | I went to Leslie's to run. We did and easy 3 miles again to make sure Leslie's leg would be fine for the South Jordan Half. Her leg felt fine so after we cleaned up we went and signed up for the South Jordan Half. We might swim after she gets off work. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with mens pushups. For some reason today I was only able to do 60. I don't know why my arms would be so tired. Now I am going to breakfast/lunch with my sisters. It will be lunch for me because I ate breakfast at 5:30. | |
| | Leslie and I did the South Jordan Half Marathon. It was the hardest half I have done so far. It started out at the District, went out to 118th and then north on 40th west to Sky Drive. Then it went west to 4800 west. Then we went up and down a trail through the Gully and then wove through a subdivision to 102nd and then up to Daybreak Lake and from their over to 114th and up past Daybreak to 118th. Then we went down a few streets and then north to Daybreak. Then we turned on Kesler Drive and it wound into 114th South and then south on 40th back to 118th and then back to the District. I visited with a lot of people along the way. I walked for a minute at two water stops and I walked up the last hill to daybreak. It took me 2 hours and 29 minutes which was my slowest 1/2 yet but I didn't care I was glad to make it to the end. I still got 1st place in my age group. Dean and Kris Bullock and Debbi Kroll ran the race also and so did Tom Boud. | |
| | Leslie and I were both very tired this morning so we only ran 3 miles. We thought about swimming but when Leslie gets home from work we need to pick up a bed for Ben and then take apart Leslie's weight set and haul it into her garage.
| |
| | Met the BBK's at the church on 102nd and 40th West. We ran up the road that the church is on west to the base of the Hill. Then we ran up and down the hill 5 times. Then we ran up again and ran two streets past the top of the hill and ran down that street and around the turn around and back. We did this two times and then I headed back to my car. I'm not sure how many miles I did but I'm counting 4. I'm always a lot more dead when I run with the group. This afternoon I did my arm weight exercises. Tonight I'm teaching water aerobic for our RS enrichment which is quite funny since I've never been to a water aerobics class or even seen one. The person that asked me to teach just knows that I am very physically active. I'm sure it will be an experience.
| |
| | Leslie and I went on a bike ride. We were going to meet the Bunners but Leslie didn't get to my house until 6am and they leave the rec center at 6 am. Leslie didn't see any bikers there when she drove by. We did our usual route down redwood to 126th and then to 3600 West to 118th. Then west to 40th west, north past the temple to 98th and back to redwood. It took us 55 minutes and I wasn't too tired because I go slower for Leslie. After I ate breakfast and cleaned up I picked up the weeblos and one parent and we headed up to Weeblos Day Camp. The first thing we did after the opening ceremony was go on a 2 hour hike up the mountain. I enjoyed the hike. After the hike we ate lunch and then went to 3 more classes. In between I walked back and forth twice to the car which was parked about a half a mile away to get things out. By the time we got home I was very tired. I took a short rest, made dinner and then Leslie and I went to Blackridge Reservoir to swim. There were tons of people there so instead of swimming all the way around the outside we swam 3/4 the way around one direction and then turned around and swam the same way back. We took a couple of short breaks to adjust our goggles. It is really hard to see where you are going with water in your goggles. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 71 mens pushups. Then I did a little bit of cleaning and left to go pick up the Weeblos to go to Day camp. We did BB guns and Archery and then had lunch. Then we did the boats. The boats were way fun. We got in tons of water fights and were soaked by the time we were done. Then we did the obstacle course and came home. I was very tired and took a short nap. When I was trying to decide what to make for dinner, Kent and Ben decided that we should go back to the Pizza Pie Cafe. It is a place in Highland that my husband wired. It is very deliscious but I always eat way too much. They have a salad bar, pasta bar, along with all the pizza you can eat and very good dessert pizza. Leslie and I were going to swim tonight but I was way too full. |
| | Since I don't know how to show biking miles I just added them with my running miles. Leslie and I rode 32 miles today followed by a 6 miles run. We started out at about 6:45 from Leslie's house and rode down 40th West South to 118th and then up to 3600 and south to 144th and then down to Redwood and south on redwood to the first light past Camp Williams. Then we turned East and went along the back roads past Thanksgiving Point and then along the frontage road back to 144th and then to 118th and up 40th west past the temple to Leslie's. Then we took a potty break, refilled our Ice Water and headed out on our run. We did our Daybreak 6 mile run. We took it nice and slow. It was very hot. When we made it around the lake and were going down Oquirrh Lake Drive we walked for 2 minutes and dumped water over our heads. Then when we got to the street that turns into Leslie's subdivision we walked again. We did the run in only about 2 minutes longer than it usually takes us so I felt pretty good about it. This afternoon Kent, Ben, Becca and I are going camping and fishing to Scofield Reservoir.
| |
| |
Leslie and I did our Day Break 6 mile run. I think I was even slower than when I ran it after our 32 mile bike ride. I did run the whole time and made it to the end. Then I came home, cleaned up, cleaned the whole house and took a nap. Then I got groceries, made dinner and folded laundry. Now Leslie and I are going swimming at the Blackridge Reservoir. We just got back from the reservoir. Boy I can't believe how low it is now. I've never seen it that low. We still got a good swim in.
| |
| | Met the BBK's at Bingham for our run. We did a mile warm up down to the park on 2200. Then we did 800's on the track. I was extra tired today because I had allergies last night and couldn't breath. I finally got up and used some Afrin but then I couldn't get to sleep so at 2am I took a sleeping pill. Now I feel like a zombie. I wanted to make it 6 miles but was too tired and only made it 5. I will do my arm weight exercise this afternoon and then tonight Leslie and I will swim again. | |
| | Leslie and I rode bikes this morning. My bike is at her house now because we can't pull in or out of my driveway because of the road construction. We rode from Leslie's house south on 40th west to 114th up past Daybreak and out to highway 111 and then back. The wind going south was horrible so we were glad we didn't have to ride that direction very long. Now I am getting packed up for our Family Outing. My husband and all my kids, son-in-laws except one and all my grandkids except 5 are coming. We are going to a girls camp in Tabiona that has cabins, and amphitheatre, pavillion, fire pit, restrooms and a large pond with boats. This afternoon I will do my leg weight/stomach exercises. | |
| | Leslie and I ran 3 miles. We ran from her house down past her church to the park and then back along the canal to 106th and then back to her house. We are going to our family outing at noon so we didn't have time to run any farther. |
| | We arrived at Warm Springs resort on Thursday afternoon with all our family and spent an hour walking around looking at the cabins, pavillion and amphitheatre. Then we walked down to the pond and used the paddle boats and kayaks. We made dinner and then walked back to the ponds and used the boats again and then walked backed to the cabins. Then we had skits and made smores. Then we walked around and visited everyone at their cabins. Friday morning after breakfast we cleaned up, did crafts and games and then walked back to the ponds. We used the paddle boats and then had kayak races. Then we had lunch, took naps and walked back to the ponds and used the boats again. Then we walked back to the cabins and played kick ball. Then we had dinner. After dinner Leslie and I took several of the kids on a hike. Then we had family night and visited a while and then played laser tag. Then we went to bed. Most of us thought that the kayaks and paddle boats were the funnest part of the outing. While I was using the kayak with one of my grandsons on my lap my son was playing around and pushing us with his kayak and mine rolled over. Luckily my grandson and I had our life jackets on. I grabbed him and swam to shore holding him, the kayak and paddle. I didn't think the water was that deep, but it was over my head. My grandson is only 3 but he isn't afraid of the water at all. We had a very fun time but we are all very tired. Saturday morning we ate breakfast and cleaned the place up and headed home. I really enjoyed spending a couple of days with all my kids, son-in-laws, husband and grandkids. | |
| | The good news is, Leslie got a GPS watch so now we can see how far and fast we are running. The bad news is, on Sunday we walked our course that we thought was 3 miles and it was only 2.68. The good news is, today we ran our Day Break 6 miles course and it was just over 6 miles. The bad news is, we only ran 11 minute miles. The good news is, I didn't care how slow I went I was just glad I could run. My daughter Christine who has been the fastest runner of all my daughters for the past 5 or 6 years hasn't been able to run for about 6 months. She has something wrong with her leg/back and the Dr.'s can't figure out what is wrong. She has been to lots of different doctors and they all tell her something different. She can run 100 yards and she can walk a mile very slowly, but the next day her leg is very, very tired. I'm grateful that I can still run even if I am slow. | |
| | I was a couple minutes late and the BBK's had already taken off from Bingham. I ran down 2200 to 98th South and started back to Bingham. When I got to the back parking lot Greg and another guy who's name I can't remember at the moment were running my direction looking for the group. We ran down towards the track and I went towards the subdivision that I had seen a couple of runners go down. When I didn't find any runners I went to the track. There were about 10 of the BBK's at the track. I ran around the track 4 times and decided I would rather run on the road so I went back out to 2200 an down to 98th and back. By then I was very tired and decided to call it a day. After breakfast I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. Boy the pushups were hard today. Tonight Leslie and I will swim at Blackridge Reservoir. | |
| | I included my biking and running together. I went to Leslie's this morning and we rode our r14 mile course from her house down to 98th and then east to redwood, south to 126th west to 3600, west to 40th and then north past the temple and back to Leslie's. Then we took a potty break, refilled our ice water and ran our almost 3 mile run. Leslie added a little on to her run to make it 3 but I was feeling very tired because I had allergies last night and didn't sleep well. Then I came home, cleaned up and headed up to Ogden to help my daughter and son-in-law who are moving. They had 2 young kids (2yrs. and 2mo)and it is very hard to move everything and take care of kids the same time. I brought my 12 year old granddaughter with me to help. We had a fun time taking care of the kids while they moved things. Now I need to make dinner and then Leslie wants to swim, but I'm very tired and might talk her out of it. |
| | I did my arm weight exercises, then I cleaned up and went visiting teaching. Then I went to the free car wash on 106th. There were a lot of cars there but it only took me 10 minutes plus another 10 minutes to vacuum the car out. Now I am going to do my indexing before my daughter brings my grandson over for me to tend. |
| |
Leslie and I biked 45 miles and then ran/walked for 5 miles. We did our usual Goldilocks trail down 40th to 3600 and south to 144th and then past camp williams and then back along the frontage road. We came back through Bluffdale and then up 118th to highway 111 and then north to 7800 and then back to 40th and then back to Leslie's. We took a potty break and refilled our ice water and started on our run. We did our Day Break 6 mile run. It was very hot and muggy. Half way up the hill on 106th I had to walk. We ran again when we got to Oquirrih Lake Drive. Part way around the Lake I had to walk again. I was feeling very tired and hot. We ran again for a while and then I had to walk again. By the time we got around to the other side of the Lake I was feeling so tired I could barely walk. We decided to shorten our run and cut through the temple parking lot. We walked back to Leslie's and I sat down and drank ice water and gator aid. I have never felt so dead. I could barely move. I came home took a bath and a short rest and then my husband and I headed up to Ogden to help our daughter move. After we were finished helping her move we came home and went to Red Robyn with Ben, Becca, Leslie, Ralphy and her kids. The food was good but I got very full. I am really feeling tired now and will probably go to bed soon.
| |
| | Leslie and I ran our Day Break 6 mile course this morning. We went nice and slow so I wasn't dead at the end but I was tired. We will swim at Blackridge Reservoir tonight. | |
| | Met the BBK's at Parkway Palisades. We ran over to the cemetery and ran up and down the hill several times. Kris, Debbie and I ran from there down 10th west to 98th south and to the parkway trail. I was a little way behind them but I could see them most of the way. I ran down the trail to106th and then up the hill and back to the cemetery. Some of the group was still there and running up and down the hill. I jogged from there back to my car. I'm not sure how far I went but I am counting 5 miles. Then I came home, worked in the yard, cleaned out the fridge, cleaned the shower, cleaned the kitchen and then cleaned up. My daughters and husband took me to lunch for my Birthday and now I am taking the rest of the day off.
| |
| | Today I didn't do one bit of exercise. This morning we were going to bike but there was too much thunder and lightning so we just went to the temple instead. Then after I got home I cleaned the kitchen and then I had to take my daughters kids to swim lessons because her car was in a crash and she hadn't gotten her rental car yet. Then I took my son to the dentist which took 2 1/2 hours. Then I took him birthday shopping. Then I went back to pick up my daughter and take her to her chiropractor appointment because she still hadn't gotten her rental car. Then I got groceries and made dinner. Now I am too tired to exercise.
| |
| | Today Leslie and I rode our bikes 12 miles and then ran 3 miles. For some reason I didn't feel as tired as I usually do when I run and was actually able to run a little bit faster. Then I came home and ate breakfast and did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with my 75 mens pushups. If it happens to be nice weather tonight Leslie and I will swim. | |
| | I didn't exercise at all on Friday. I am at my sister's getaway at my sister's cabin in Heber City. I met my sisters, stepmother, and sister-in-law at the Olive Garden in Fashion Place. After lunch we went up to my sister's cabin. We ate, played games, laughed and watched movies. Saturday morning after breakfast two of my sisters and I walked up and down the hills around her cabin. We went on about an hour walk. There are lots of hills. We got our exercise even though we walked instead of running. |
| | I got back from my sister's getaway on Sunday. I had a great time but I came back with a cold. Today I am too tired and miserable to even exercise. | |
| | I'm feeling a lot better today but still not great. I did my arm weight exercises and then did some cleaning. Then I took Christine's kids to swim lessons and came home and did my indexing. Now I'm ready to take a nap. | |
| | I went to Leslie's to ride bikes this morning. I decided to fill my front tire just a little. Some how I must have pulled the end off while I was trying to fill it. All the air came out but none would go back in. We changed our clothes and went to the temple. Then I came home and did leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. We will swim tonight if the weather cooperates. | |
| | No exercise again today. I thought I was starting to feel better but yesterday afternoon I started feeling very sick. Today I went to the Dr. and I have a sinus infection. I now have a Rx so should start feeling better. We are leaving for Fish Lake this afternoon so I hope by then I will feel a little better. | |
| | I felt better today but Leslie felt like she was getting a sinus infection so she slept in and we only jogged 3 miles. 3 miles worked fine for me since I am still recovering from my sinus infection. We went to Fish Lake Thursday through Sunday. We had a fun time fishing, hiking, relaxing, eating and watching movies. My friend and her husband live at Fish Lake in the summer and have us come visit every year. Tonight Leslie and I will swim at Blackridge Reservoir. | |
| | Met the BBK's at Bingham. We ran down around Bonanza and then south on 2200 to rustic roads, then up to 2700 to triple crown and then back down. We did our 5K course backwards and then ran back to Bingham. I was behind everyone but Kevin came late and caught up with me. We talked for about 5 minutes and then he went ahead. After breakfast I did my arm weight exercises. |
| |
Leslie and I rode our bikes on our regular route. I called her at 6:15 and she wanted to sleep another 1/2 hour so we didn't go until after 7 am. When I got home a cleaned and then went to do baptisms for the dead with my granddaughter. We will swim at Blackridge Reservoir tonight.
| |
| | Today instead of doing our 6 mile Daybreak course we just ran north on 40th west for two miles and then back. Since we were doing a straight flat course we were able to go a little faster. We are both running the Hobblecreek Half on Saturday so we didn't want to kill ourselves off. Yesterday we didn't end up swimming because of the weather so today we will swim if the weather cooperates. | |
| | I woke up at 3:30 and got ready to go to our race. I called Leslie at 4 and headed over to pick her up. We got to Mapleton Park by 4:45 and picked up our numbers, then we stood around and talked to the other people from our running group. Then we got on the bus. Our bus turned the corner and then sat there for 5 minutes waiting for the next bus. Then we drove up to the place past the golf course and sat in the bus by the side of the road waiting for the other buses to come back down. We waited about 15 minutes and then we headed up. When we got off the bus we headed straight for the POP. There was a big line and it took about 15 minutes. Then we walked down the road to the start of the race. When we got to the race start we saw Tom Boyd and talked to him for a while. We waited and waited for the race to start. It was suppose to start at 7:15 but didn't start until almost 8. When the race started I tried to go a nice easy pace. It was down hill so I went 9 minute miles for the first 3 miles and then I slowed down to 9:30 miles. Since the race started so late it was already getting hot. When I got to the 7 mile point I was at 1hr and 5minutes. I slowed down to 10 minute miles and then 10:30. The last 3 miles were hot and tiring. I had to walk for about 2 minutes during the last mile. Then I ran again and picked up the pace a little at the end. I passed one person on the grass just before the finish. I think I finished in 2hrs and 17 minutes but I'm not positive because I forgot to stop my watch. I felt tired and a little sick at the end. We didn't stay to see how we finished so I'm anxious for them to post the results online. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. Tonight Leslie and I will swim at the Blackridge reservoir. |
| | Met the BBK's at the SJ library for the early miles. I started back to work so from now on I will be going early. I asked Mike what course they were doing and started off before everyone. We ran east down to 13th west and then south and up through the subdivisions. When I got to Michelle M's street going east I met the group coming west. I kept going and they came out just ahead of me and they still beat me back to the Library. We met the others and I just went down to 13th west and back and then had to head home and get ready for work. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the church on 2200 and 97th for the early miles. I asked Mike the course we were running and took off. We ran south on 2200 to Bonanza and then around Bonanza back to 2200 south to Temple View. By the time I got to Temple View I was already a way behind so I turned on the first street and when I saw the group coming I turned around and headed back. When I got back to the church I talked to Kevin for a minute and then headed up 98th. I wanted to get a head start because I am very slow and I had to be for work at 7. I ran up to 3200 and then turned around and headed back. I saw the group on my way back and waved to them. Work was very busy. We have 100 more students than last year and 1 less worker. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises today after work and a short nap. Work wasn't quite as hectic today so I wasn't as tired after work. |
| | Leslie and I did a 29 mile bike ride followed by a 4 mile run. Instead of doing our Goldilocks course we did our 12 mile Bunners course twice but on the second time we kept going up 118th south to where it connects to 114th and then down 114th to the round about and down past daybreak lake to 106th then north on 106th to 40th west and back to Leslie's. We refilled our ice water and headed out on our run. We went north on 40th west 2 miles and turned around and headed back. I saw Kris Liddell twice during my bike ride. He was at mile 19 the second time I saw him and was almost back home. I wasn't too dead at the end and I could have run a couple more miles. We did the bike in 2hrs 10minutes and the run in a little over 40 minutes. I could have gone faster on the bike but I went slower for Leslie. | |
| | After work I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. Leslie and I will swim tonight. | |
| | Met the BBK's at Bingham for the early miles. We did our regular Temple View, Bonanza course. I started out early and they all caught up with me. It was cooler and I was able to run a little faster. After we met up for the regular miles we did our Temple View/Bonanza to warm up and then went to Prospector for our workout. They were doing a 1K, 2K and then a 3K but I only had time to stay for the 1K before I had to get to work. Leslie and I didn't swim last night so we will swim tonight. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the Riverfront Park. The weather was very cool and it felt great. I started out before everyone else to get a head start. I ran south on the Parkway to the Pedestrian crossing over the rive on 114th and then to the parkway trail. It took me a few minutes to find the ped crossing and I first went on the road crossing and asked worker where the ped crossing was. He pointed it out to me and by the time I got back to where it was everyone had caught up to me so I was behind again. It was very dark on the trail and I was glad I wore my head light. We ran along the trail for a while and when I saw the group coming back I turned around. I came to a crossroad the started up and then looked back and saw that the group went the other way so I turned around and followed them and was behind again. We went back to the park and me the rest of the group. We did a mile warmup and then ran on the trail again. They were doing ladders but I could only stay for another 15 minutes so I ran for 10 minutes and then turned around and headed back. I love running in the cool air. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. Then Kent, Ben and I went to pizza pie cafe. It was very good, but I always eat too much when we go there. |
| | Leslie and I did our 13 mile bike ride followed by a 4 mile run. We ran down 40th west past the light on 98th then we stopped at my sister's house to find out what time she wanted me to take her to lunch and then we ran back to Leslie's. I didn't feel too tired during the run in fact I could have gone a couple more miles. We may swim at Blackridge this afternoon and then hope we have trained enough for our Vikingman Triathlon next weekend in Burley. | |
| | This morning Kent, Ben, Leslie and I along with Angie, Bryan and family and Chris, Dan and family drove over Butterfield canyon to the Tooele side and met our daughter Carrie, Aldo and their family at a camp spot to have breakfast. It was a little chilly but we had a fire going. There were 26 of us total. We had eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes along with hot chocolate, milk and juice. We had a fun time together. We did miss the other 14 family members that couldn't come. After we were finished we cleaned up and drove back over the mountain. We saw several deer and lots of beautiful scenery. After we got back I took a short nap and then picked tomatoes. Then Leslie and I went to Blackridge reservoir to swim. There were a lot of people there but not too many swimming. We were glad we had our wetsuits. We swam around the outside of the whole reservoir twice. I had to side stroke part of the time but we didn't stop. That is the last time we are going to swim before our Triathlon. After I cleaned up I made spaghetti sauce with the tomatoes I picked. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6 am this morning so at 5am I ran down to Parkway Palisades where the BBK's were meeting and said "Hi" to them and then ran back home. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. | |
| | We didn't serve lunch until 12 today so we went for a walk, we walked for about 1 mile.  The only other exercise I did was dig in the mud and help fix my daughters sprinklers. Tomorrow we are heading to Idaho for our Triathlon. We're excited to stay with my daughter and her family. They live in Oakley just outside of Burley.  | |
| | We got to Burley, Idaho at about 2:30 pm on Friday and stopped on the way in at the Fairfield Inn to pick up our packets. Then we drove to where the transition area was going to be and tried to figure out where the bike course was. We drove around for a while and couldn't figure out the course so just gave up and went to Jenny's. Jenny and all the kids were excited to see us. Jenny and Leslie made pickles and then Jenny made us a spaghetti dinner. Angie and Chrissy came up from Utah also and got there in time for dinner. They left their kids home for their husbands to tend. After dinner we visited for a while and then went to bed. Leslie and I woke up at 4:30 am had a quick breakfast and headed to our race. We had to set up our transition area and get our bodies marked. Then they drove us to the start of the swim. Leslie's start was a different place than mine. The swim start was on private property. At my start the owner had started a fire in their fire pit which was by the Snake River. We were all glad because the temperature was in the 30's. We sat around and visited until 7:15 when the 1/2 ironman started and we watched them swim by. Then we had to wait for them to bring the timing equipment back to our start. Then they had someone sing the national anthem, and then a preacher spoke and said a prayer. Then the let the Individual Men start their race. About 5 minutes later we started. The water didn't feel too cold after standing in the cold for an hour. The current wasn't as swift as I expected, in fact it was very calm. I did front crawl for a while and then alternated with the side stoke. I went slow and steady and made it to the end. I visited with several other women that were going slow along the swim. I wasn't the last person but the 3 of us got to the end and the same time and there was one woman behind us. When we got out and ran on the grass to the bikes I could tell my feet and hands were frozen. My hands were so numb I had a hard time putting on my shoes, socks and gloves. I had to ask someone to buckle my helmet. The first part of the bike ride I was tired because of the cold, but half way through the first lap I warmed up and was able to go faster. The bike was 29 miles. At the end of the bike ride Chrissy, Angie and Jenny and her kids were there to cheer me on. I didn't feel too tired and was able to run for 3 miles before I walked for a minute. Then I walked a little bit each mile. When I got to mile 6 mark I realized that I still had a least a mile to go. The race ended up being 7 miles. When I got about 1/4 mile to the finish line two of my grandsons met me and ran the rest of the way in with me. I was glad to be done. I finished 1st in my age group. Then we got some lunch while we waited for Leslie to finish the bike ride. When she finished the bike ride Chrissy ran the first mile with her, then we sat around and visited until Leslie was almost to mile 7. At mile 7 Jenny ran the last 6 miles with her. Jenny is pregnant but they went very slow because Leslie was pretty dead by then. It took Leslie 8 hours to finish but I was very proud of her. We went back to Jenny's, showered, bought some pizza for everyone and rested until bed. Sunday morning we slept in and ate breakfast and then we left for home. I went to Sacrament meeting with Leslie because her's was at 1pm and mine was over by the time we got home. We were both glad we did the race but we are happy to have a break from training now. | |
| | I did my arm weight exercises after work and a short nap. |
| |
I had to be to work at 6am so I decided not to run this morning. After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises.
| |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 75 mens pushups. I haven't run at all this week but I hope to run on Saturday.
| |
| | I went to Leslie's this morning and we did our Daybreak 6 mile course. We didn't try to push it but we had a nice visit while we ran. I have a lot of cleaning and yard work to do today and Leslie in in Charge of her RS Super Saturday. Tonight I am going with Ben and several of my grandkids to the Dew Tour. Becca got us free tickets from her work. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so after work I took a short nap and did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so at 5am I ran down to Redwood from my house and then to 106th and back home. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the soccer fields in SJ park. I go there a few minutes early and started out on the 5K course going the right direction. I met the group coming the other way at about half way or more. I tried to run fast so I could beat them back to the park. I made it to the park just before the group. I said "hi," real quick and then headed home because I had to be to work at 6am. | |
| | I didn't exercise at all today. I had a cub scout meeting after work and then we had family coming over. Jenny and kids came from Idaho and Bridget, Glenn and kids from Ogden. We (Leslie, me, Jenny, Bridget and Christine's husband) are running as a team in the Dirty Dash tomorrow morning. I'm sure it will be fun and muddy. |
| | Saturday we (Leslie, Jenny, Bridget, Dan and I) Ran through the mud and obstacles along with 4000 other people at the 10K Dirty Dash. It was very crowded and the cars were bumper to bumper on the last mile to Soldier Hollow. We got there just in time to go to the POP and get to the start. They did it in waves and our wave was the 3rd wave. We started out running up a hill through the mud. It was pretty sticky but I didn't fall down. Then we ran along the trail for awhile until we got to the hay bales which we climbed over. Then we ran through more mud, then some trail and then we crawled through some pipes. Then we ran along the trail for a while until we got to wood wall that we had to climb over. I was a wimp and went between the obstacles. It was very muddy and sticky and I slipped and gushed along but didn't fall down. Then we had 2 or 3 more walls to climb over with plenty of gooey mud. Then we ran along the trail for a while until we got to the tires. I was very slow going over the tires and decided I wouldn't make a very good football player. Then we ran along the trail towards Deer Creek Reservoir. Before the reservoir there were two very deep muddy ditches that we had to climb and walk through and then slip and slide and try to pull ourselves up the other side. Luckily there were a few weeds to hang onto to pull yourself up on the other side. Then we ran in the gooey, sticky, stinky mud along the side of Deer Creek reservoir. Then we had to climb through another ditch to get back to the trail. Then we ran along the trail until we got to the slip n slide. We had to wait in line at several of the obstacles including the slip n slide. During the race the whole team had to stay together so we would run for a while and then walk and wait for the other members of the team. The whole course was up and down hills. At the end of the slip n slide was another mud pit and it was very slippery. I grabbed a hold of someone ahead of me so I didn't fall down. Then we ran to the very last obstacle which was a mud pit that was 2-3 feet deep that you had to crawl through to the end. In the mud pit Dan tackled Leslie and pushed her under to get back at her for splashing mud on all of us during the whole race. We were all covered with mud from head to toe but we all had a fun time. There were lots of teams dressed in costumes, but we just wore our junkiest clothes. They had outdoor showers and a hose, but the water freezing cold and there was a long wait. We all had a fun time but we still had to shower and wash our hair several times to get clean after we got home. That night I went to the Women's Conference with all 7 of my daughters. It was a very nice Conference and they served dinner before the conference. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6am so at 5 I ran from my house down redwood road to 106th and then back. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight exercises. | |
| | I pulled a muscle in my back so I decided not to exercise today. I do need to get my house clean though because my husband's sister and her family are coming to stay with us this weekend. |
| | I exercised less this week than I have the whole year. Leslie and I were going to run 6 on Friday morning since I had the day off and we had family coming in for the weekend. Late Thursday afternoon my daughter that lives in Idaho called and said her husband had been hurt and they were life flighting him to the IMC Hospital in Murray. Then she drove down with the kids. They stayed at Leslie's because we already had a house full staying with us. Tyler fell off a pivot and landed on his back. He broke his back in 3 places and fractured his pelvis. They didn't operate until 3:30 pm on Friday afternoon. I tended the kids all day Friday and then Leslie picked them up at about 7:30 pm. Tyler is very lucky that he is not paralyzed or dead. It will be a long recovery but we are all very thankful that he will be okay. Next week I plan on getting back into exercising. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. Then I tended Christine's kids along with Hailey Jenny's daughter. Jenny's other kids went with their grandmother that lives in Tooele. Tyler, Jenny's husband is doing pretty well and will probably get to go home tomorrow. |
| | Since I had to be to work at 6am and the BBK's aren't meeting in October I decided to jog after work. After work and a short nap I ran from my house down redwood to 106th and back. It felt good to run again after such a long break. Jenny called me on my way home from work and said they were on their way back from Idaho. Jenny made a bed in the back of the van for Tyler. I'm sure it will be a long ride home. He has to wear a very large brace when ever he gets out of bed. He can't bend, or turn or pick up anything heavier than a bottle of milk. It will be a long recovery but I sure he will do well. Jenny found out yesterday that she is having another boy. We were disappointed for about 10 seconds. Jenny has 4 boys and one girl and would love to have a sister for Hailey. | |
| | My life has been so hectic this week that I only exercised one time and it was only a 3 mile run. |
| | I went to my triathlon class this morning. We swam for 40 minutes and then rode the spin bikes for 40 minutes and then ran a 5k outside. It was quite a good workout and I was glad to finally get in a good workout after so much time off. My life has been crazy the past few weeks between having visitors for conference, my SIL getting injured and then this week I had sister's in town for my sister's temple sealing. I really had a good time visiting with all my brothers and sisters. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6am again and since I didn't wake up quite early enough I was only able to run 2.5 miles instead of 3 before work. After work I took a short nap and then spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning my house. We are having a progressive dinner tonight for RS and the dessert is at my house. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I went to Leslie's this morning to ride bikes. We rode from her house down 40th west to 98th south and then down 98th. We past bangerter and then past 3600 west when I ran over a rock and popped my tire. We stopped and I filled the tire with my co2 canister and it went flat in seconds. I did have a spare tube but Leslie thought it would take us too long to change it so I called Ben and he came and rescued us. He took us back to Leslie's and then I came home. After I got home I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes.
|
| | I went to Leslie's this morning and we did our 6 mile daybreak run. The weather was cool and it felt good. We were glad we had our headlights because it was dark and we were the only ones running around the lake. It was a good run and I had fun visiting with Leslie. |
| | Leslie went to Jenny's to help her for the weekend so I went to my Tri class without her. We swam 40 minutes, did spin class for 40 minutes and then ran our 5K down the canal. It was a very good workout. Then I came home and helped my husband harvest the rest of the garden, took my son to the chiropractor, got groceries, cleaned and made salsa. Now I have to finish cleaning up the mess. | |
| | I didn't have time to exercise today. After work and a short nap I took my son to the chiropractor and then came home and used my tomatoes to make and bottle spaghetti sauce and then made dinner. After dinner I picked up a Rx and a few groceries and came home and cleaned the kitchen. Now I am pressuring the spaghetti sauce. | |
| | I had to be to work at 6 am so at 5am I ran from my house down to Redwood and then up to 106th and back. It was a good work out. Tonight I will bike with Leslie. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. |
| | After work and a short nap I took my son to the doctor. He has been having a lot of back pain and swelling up. They took a blood test and will call with the results tomorrow. When I got home Becca and I went to the JRT by parkway palisades and ran. We ran 3 miles. She has lost 34lbs out of the 100 she needs to loose so she wasn't able to keep up with me but I was very proud of her for making it 3 miles. I plan on running with her once a week. | |
| | Leslie and I only went 6 today because I was at the emergency room with my son until 1am. Our family Dr. sent us over after the test results came back because they thought he might be going into renal failure. They did all sorts of tests and said everything was normal. My son was very frustrated because he still has a lot of back pain and his legs and feet are still swollen very bad. I still woke up at 5:40 even though I didn't get home until 1am. Leslie and I did our daybreak 6 mile run. It was very cool weather and felt good. | |
| | I was going to do my leg weight exercises after work but I did so much lifting at work that I decided to wait until Wednesday. After a short nap I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes and the exercise bike for 10. Our exercise bike is 100 times harder than riding a bike outside. After 10 minutes on it I'm dead. | |
| | I didn't get a chance to exercise at all yesterday. After work I went to a co worker's house to make grape jelly and then I had to take my son to the Dr. Today after work I ran from my house down redwood road to 106th and then back. It was nice a cool and it felt great. |
| | My daughter Becca was going to come over tonight and jog along the JRParkway but then she didn't make it so instead of running by myself I used the Elliptical for 30 minutes, the exercise bike for 10 and the glider for 10. It was a good workout but I sure don't enjoy it as much as running outside. I'm glad that the BBK's are going to start meeting next week. | |
| | Leslie and I ran from her house down 40th west to 98th, then down 98th to 2700 West and then north to Bueno Vista Dr. to Christine's house. We stopped, used the restroom and refilled our water and then Chrissy, Leslie and I started back. When we got to the light on 90th Christine turned around and headed back home. She was very glad we came so she could run with us. She made it 3 miles which is the longest she has gone since she has had trouble with her leg. I was very tired on the way back and had to walk for a minute when we got to the bridge over Bangerter and then we walked when we got to Leslie's street. It was the longest run I've done since the Hobblecreek Half Marathon. | |
| | I had the day off so this morning I went to Leslie's and we ran from her house down 40th west to 98th south and back. Then I came home and cleaned the house, had a bath and went to lunch with my daughter Christine. After lunch I took a short nap and then did more cleaning. Then I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I met the BBK's at Riverton for the early miles. Since I was the only one that came I ran around the parking lot for 31 minutes. The last 5 minutes Cheris came and I visited with her and then before I left I talked to Mike and Peggy. | |
| | Met the BBK's at Julie's house for the early miles. I was the only one there early again so I ran up and down Julie's street and then down past Cheris's house and north on Redwood to 118th and then back past Julie's. When the others got there I talked to them for a few minutes and then left because I had to be to work at 6am. After work I took a short nap, went to the temple and then did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 70 mens pushups. |
| | I went to Leslie's this morning and we ran our 6 mile Daybreak run. After a cleaned up quick and went to my nieces baptism. Then I came home and cleaned and went with Becca to run on the parkway. I took Duke and walked fast while she ran. She went 2.5 miles and I went 2. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | This morning a 5 am I ran from my house down redwood to 106th South and back. After work and a short nap I ran 1 mile on the Parkway trail with my daughter Becca. Then she helped me plant some Tulip and Daffodil bulbs that Leslie gave me. | |
| | I did my leg weight/stomach exercises after work and a short nap. I decided not to do my push ups because my arm and shoulder have been hurting a lot lately. |
| | I met the BBK's at the church on 124th off 13th west for the early miles. I was the only one there so I waited for about 5 minutes and then Cheris got there. I really enjoyed running with her a talking to her. She didn't even mind going slow with me. | |
| | Leslie and I went to our Triathlon class. There was only one other girl there and our teacher didn't come. We swam for about 35 minutes. The other girl was not staying for the spin bikes and Leslie has a sore foot so I just went to Leslie's and used her spin bike for 40 minutes. I still got a good workout. I would have run after but I had a lot of cleaning to do and had to be to a baby shower for my niece at 11am. |
| | Met the BBK's at Bingham High for the early miles. Kelli, Scott and Kris were there. It was nice to have someone to run with. We ran around temple view, Bonanza and then across the street through that subdivision. I started early and everyone caught up and passed me. When they ran across the street I took a short cut and got ahead of them. Coming down 2200 they caught back up and I visited with Kelli running through the parking lot. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 50 mens pushups. |
| | I met the BBK's at the soccer fields in SJ. I got there a few minutes early and since I had to be to work at 6 am I started and ran the 5K course in the right direction. It was a little chilly at first when I was running into the wind, but when I ran the other direction I got hot. I made it back to the car, said Hi to Mike and Peggy and then left. |
| | I went to my triathlon class this morning. I swam for 40 minutes and biked for 40 minutes but then I had to leave before we ran because we had a stake service project I needed to be to. Leslie didn't come today because she had a sinus infection. I still got a very good workout. | |
| |
I wanted to run outside today but our group wasn't meeting because of the cold and Leslie didn't want to run in the cold so I used the elliptical instead. I sure hope the weather warms up because I would sure rather run outside. We had 6 of our kids and three son-in-laws and 10 grandkids over for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a very good dinner. We missed the other 2 kids and 13 grandkids but at least everyone will come for our Christmas party.

| | Leslie and I met Eric, Alan and Michelle at the north parking lot of Bingham High. Cheris and Julie jogged over from their houses to say Hi. Eric, Alan and Michelle were running 13 but Leslie and I were only going 6 because Leslie has had a sore foot. Leslie and I started off early because I am so slow. We ran north on 2200 to 98th and then up to Glenmore. The others passed us before we got to 3600 West. Leslie and I turned around just before the Glenmore Golf course. By the time we turned around I was getting hot so the cold wind blowing on us when we turned around felt good to me. I finally took off my warm stuff when we got to 2200 west. It was a good run and I was tired by the time we got back to Bingham. | |
| | I met Cheris, Mike, Peggy and Curt at the SJ rec center to run on the track. The track is .10 mile so we had to run 10 times to make a mile. I'm not sure how many times I went around because I lost track but I ran for 50 minutes with a 2 minute break at 30 minutes to go outside and cool off. I enjoyed visiting with the group. They stayed with me for about 5 or so laps and then they ran faster and I just saw them as the passed me. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises. I did 25 pushups but didn't want to make my arm hurt so I didn't do more than that. I've been going to the chiropractor for my arm and he thinks I might have a slight tear in my rotor cuff. | |
| | I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes and the stationary bike for 25. I got a good workout and watched my favorite show millionaire at the same time. | |
| | Met the BBK's at Centennial Park for the early miles. I was happy that there were 3 other people early besides me. Aaron, Lisa, Kelli and I ran through the subdivision and out to 3600 west. I turned around right at 3600 and headed back. When I got back the others were there for our next run. There were about 10 people there for the regular run. Kelli went slow with me for awhile and Cheris caught up with us because she was late. I told them goodbye just before 3600 and headed back so I could get to work. I got a good workout and enjoyed visiting with the Kelli. |
| | I went to my triathlon class this morning. Leslie was sick with the stomach flu so she didn't come. I swam for 40 minutes, did the spin bike for 40 minutes and ran on the treadmill for 32 minutes. I got a very good workout. Then I came home, cleaned up and went to Costco. Then I took my sister to Kneaders for her birthday. It was good. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises. I can't do my pushups for now because my shoulder is still sore. | |
| | Met the BBK's at the SJ Soccer field for the early miles. The only one there when I started was Aaron but I needed to be to work at 6 so I started early. I saw the others about half way through and I got to the end about the same time. It was a good run. After work and a short nap I used the Elliptical for 15 minutes and the stationary bike for 15. | |
| | After work and a short nap I did my arm weight exercises. |
| | I met the BBK's at SJ library for the early miles. Dean, Kelli, Scott and Aaron were there. I started off early so I wouldn't be too far behind. We ran east to 13th west and then south to Jordan Ridge Drive and then East to the cemetery road. We ran north on cemetery road to 10550 South and then west back to 13th west and then south back to the road that leads to the library and then west to the library. I was a little ways behind to the others came back for me when I got to the cemetery. Kelli jogged slow with me until we got back to the library. When we got back the others were just leaving but I was so hot I took off my warm stuff and took it to my car. By then I was so far back I never did find the group. I jogged back out to 13th west and south almost to 114th and turned down Michelle's street. I jogged to her street and didn't see the group so I headed back to the library so I could be to work by 7. I got a good workout and was very tired when I got to my car. | |
| | Leslie and I met the group at Bingham. They were going 12 but we were only going 6 because Leslie has been sick. Leslie was a couple minutes late so they started and I waited for Leslie. It was chilly but I was glad I wore a tank top and shorts because it only took a few minutes for me to warm up. The run was good and I wasn't as tired as the last time we did the same run. It sure is a lot nicer to run outside. After I got home I cleaned up and cleaned the house and then I took my daughter Christine to Olive Garden for her Birthday lunch. It was good. |

Met the group at Mike and Peggy's for the early miles. I started out before them and turned the wrong way. Then I turned back and went the other way. I finally saw them coming back and turned around. They passed me up and I kept going and made it back before the other group started out again. We started the same direction but went out to 13th west and then south to Chavez and down Chavez to the bottom of the hill to regroup. That was the mile mark and I ran with them until the next street north and then headed back. Scott headed back too but he was ahead of me. I made it back to the car and was very tired but glad I ran. After work and a short nap I did my leg weight/stomach exercises. I did 25 pushups also before my shoulder started hurting so I decided that was good for now.

| | Met the group at Riverfront Park for the early miles. I started off before the others. We ran south passed 114th and turned west on the last road and ran up the hill to Lampton. Then we ran straight on Lampton until we had run for 15 minutes. The others passed me before I got to 114th. It was very cold, 18 degrees and I had to keep blowing on my hands for the 1st mile and a half until I warmed up. I turned around at 15 minutes and made it back just after the others. We met the rest of the group and did the same run except they kept going and I turned around at the same spot because I had to get to work. It was a good workout. I'm glad the roads were dry and clear. | |
| | I got up at 6am and went Christmas shopping at Walmart. Then I came home and cleaned. At 10am Leslie and I met some of the group at the JR parkway and 9800 for out run. We ran south for three miles and turned around. It was a little chilly going south and it was harder to run but when we turned around I got hot and the run was easier. It was a good run and I was tired at the end. | |

Met the group for early miles. It was very snowy but beautiful. There were four of us there. It's a good thing I ran because I have really been pigging out lately.

Met the group at the church on 124th and 13th west. There were 9 of us. I didn't go to the early miles because I didn't have to work today and I knew I couldn't run that long without dying. We ran north on 13th west past the church and then turned west and then south past another church and then out to 126th and back to 13th west and back past the church we started out at and then down the big hill past a few streets and then left to a park that had a trail. We stopped and visited for a few minutes then Peggy, Mike and Debbie left to do a long run and the rest of us did laps around the park. I think it was about a quarter of a mile around and we did it four times. Then we ran out to the big hill and they were doing hill repeats, but I was so tired that I did the hill once and then went back to my car. I got a very good workout. Then I came home, cleaned the house, cleaned up and went shopping. Then I took a long nap. After dinner my husband and I went to the temple.

| | I used the elliptical for 15 minutes and the stationary bike for 15 minutes. Then I cleaned the kitchen and did my leg weight/stomach exercises along with 50 mens pushups. My shoulder is feeling better so now I need to work back up to 75 pushups. |
| | I used the elliptical for 15 minutes and the stationary bike for 15 minutes. I really don't enjoy either so it's a good thing we have TV in the exercise room. After I cleaned the kitchen I did my arm weight exercises. Then I cleaned up, did more housework and then took my daughter to Olive Garden for her Birthday. It was very good!!! | |
| | Met the group at Bingham High for the regular miles. We ran across 106th south through the subdivision and out to redwood road and then south to the park. Then we ran through the park and west to 2200 west and then north to Rustic Roads. Then we ran up Rustic Roads to 2700 w and then south to 9800 and then west to 2200 and then south back to Bingham. I took one shortcut to catch back up with the group. Eric was going slower than the others so when he caught up with me he went slow with me the rest of the way. It was nice to have someone to talk to. Thanks Eric. |
| | I used the elliptical for 15 minutes and the stationary bike for 15 minutes. Then I cleaned the kitchen afterwhich I did my leg weight/stomach exercises and 60 mens pushups. Then I did the last of my visiting teaching(to a woman that works alot before Christmas) and then my daughter and I headed up to Ogden to visit with my youngest daughter, her husband and two kids. We had a fun time and the weather wasn't too bad for the drive. |
| | I got up to meet the running group for the regular miles. I woke up at 4:30 and didn't need to be there until 5:45 so I did my indexing while I was waiting. When I looked outside before I did my indexing it was snowy and cold but was not snowing. When I was just about ready to leave my husband said are you going to run in this blizzard? I looked outside and it was snowing like crazy. I decided to do 10 more minutes of indexing before using the elliptical. Ten minutes later I looked out the window and the snow had stopped falling. Even though I knew I would be late I decided I would rather run outside. I drove down to the park by daybreak where we were meeting and didn't see anyone. Then I saw Cheris just getting out of her car. We were the only ones there. We started running and then saw Michelle coming. We ran around up and down through the daybreak neighborhood and then down back past our cars and then out to 114th and up the hill. Cheris and Michelle were a little way ahead of me and I thought they were going to come back down the hill so when I saw them turn around I headed back down. After I got to the bottom they were headed back up so I went back up and then back down again and back up once more. When I didn't see them I headed back down and back to the park. When I got almost to the cars I saw them come running. They were going to run another mile so I just jogged to the end of the street again and back to my; car. It was cold but we didn't get snowed on. It was way better than the elliptical and I got a very good workout. | |
| | I used the elliptical for 15 minutes and the stationary bike for 15 minutes. Then I did my stomach exercises. My back has been hurting when I run lately and Eric and Michelle said I needed to do more stomach exercises. |
