Tried running for a mile but the glut is still not cooperating fully so I did the row machine for 10 minutes and elliptical for 41 minutes.  Good workout!  Hopefully my glut will cooperate soon.  I think its very likely that its related to my knee seizing up last weekend.  I may have been favoring my left knee a little which caused undue stress on my right glut.  Such is life.  Its a balancing act to give equal effort in all areas. Usually one area or another gets a little neglected.

I think you're right. Favoring one muscle can stress another. Maybe you need to use that poky thing that Aaron brought home on the glut.

Nan, I am so thrilled to see you being so successful with your running. You are amazing and I know you are going to qualify for the trials. Sorry your glut is bothering you. Your eliptical workout on Wed kicked some trash, girl!

You ever think about having it removed?

Great workout! When is your big race?

I am finding that also; favoring the injury inevitably results in something else acting up. If I favor my knee, I just stop running now and hit the pool. I did just two pool days this week, though!

My coach actually caught me doing it in a local run a few weeks ago. He snuck up behind me, watched me run, and sent me a note later that it looked really bad! This is such a small town.

My maiden name is Sheppard. We only ran together 2001. I did steeple with you, Mooner, Mars, Liz and Tara. Yes, I too am doing Boston. I don't have as lofty a goal as you, but I am really excited to go and race with the big guns. I love reading your blog b/c you inspire me to kick some booty out there. I'm impressed with your motivation.

Carolyn-I tried using the poky thing a little but I'm a little frightened of it because I think it contributed to my knee seizing up.

Melody Sheppard of course I remember now! 2001 was a way fun year. SO many of us did Steeple together. Cool that you're still running fast too!

Toby-The Houston Half is next weekend. So this injury is horrible timing.

Burt-Yes, I am considering having it removed more every moment. Do you know a good bum removal guy?

Auntieem-Yeah, I have a feeling I'll be getting more acquainted with the pool too. I really don't enjoy swimming though. I'd much rather be outside.

Oh yeah. My guy's great. I see him twice a month since mine grows back so quickly.

Burt-SUMB (that is for snickered under my breath). Maybe you should take it easy on the Krispy Kremes. It must be expensive to have your bum removed twice a month?
