5 miles on the treadmill at the gym.  I was going to do 7 or 8 miles, but started feeling pain in my left hamstring around mile 4 and it kept getting worse, so I decided to stop at 5 miles.  I also felt very lightheaded and started seeing spots.  Maybe due to my sinus infection?  Sat down and stretched for a while and started to feel better.  Did some core/hip/weight lifting afterwards which felt great!

I think that it's the treadmills fault. I'm not a big fan of treadmills. I hope you feel better soon.

You amaze me at how patient and smart you are about listening to your body. I'm sure it will all pay off when you are running the Trials in 2012! Take care of that sinus infection--hope you have chicken and noodles available!

Nan, I may have missed this, but have you consulted with a doc already? Maybe some kind of mineral supplement would help with all these muscle problems. Regardless, I hope you can get out of the woods soon.

Is it upper hamstring? I've had upper hamstring problems for almost 2 years now. Once it really sets in, it just doesn't seem to want to go away. Hang in there. It stinks to not be able to train how you want. I hope it gets better soon. Perhaps test for hla-b27? Maybe you can join the fastrunning-AS group.

You have been SO patient Nan. That goes to show what kind of athlete you are! SUPA-STAR!

Have you used your NetiPot yet?

April-I don't think it is patience to back off so much as it is lack of motivation to push through. But yes, the 2012 trials are still on my mind.

Steve-I haven't been to a ortho, but have been to some chiro's, massage therapists, and an ART guy. It does seem to be healing slowly but surely, I'm just taking it easy until I feel 100% again.

Melody-NetiPot!! Hahaha I should give it whirl eh! For others who don't know:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTxMYKfd0Yc&feature=related
