Enjoyed my 4 (formerly 25) minute commute to workout at East Boulder Rec.

The group was relatively small and fast this morning.  Simon, Colleen, Steve, Katie, Pete, and Me.

20 minute warm up, stretching, strides

5 minutes steady at 5:58 pace

2 min. jog

5X3 minutes at 5:55, 5:34, 5:32, 5:34, 5:40 pace (some gradual incline/decline in there) with 90 seconds of jogging between each

5 minutes at 5:45 pace

10 minute cool down

I felt pretty good this morning.  The pace is not as fast as it was two months ago, but my lungs are gradually building back.

Funny coincidence....right after I got in my car after the workout I received a text from Renee inviting me to join her and Fiona (another pro runner) for 5 minute intervals on the exact same trail I had just finished my intervals on.  I replied to tell her that Colleen and I had just warmed up the trail for her and were now headed home.  She invited me to run with her on Thursday instead.

Hey, so what's next on the schedule?

Awesome run. I'm glad you have a great group of people your caliber to run with. Pretty soon people will start making reservations to train with you weeks in advance!

Jon-Cross Country Club championships in Charlotte Dec. 11th. You should come cheer us on!! We all just purchased our flights and reserved our room last night. My team is Colleen De Reuck, Sarah Slattery, Renee Metivier Baillie, and Sarah Vaughn. I hope I'm not breaking some sort of BYU alumni code by running with three CU Alums. Haha.

Bonnie-I am definitely loving Boulder, thanks!.

Mel-I don't know about "reservations" but I hope to at least be able to set up some regular runs with some fasties.

Jon-Haha nevermind. I just looked that up and it looks like it is nearly 4 hours from you. Cheer for us in spirit. :)

Actually, Nan, the local running club here is putting together a team for that race and asked if I wanted to be on it (well, they asked 25 guys, and I was one). I'm spending Thanksgiving in Charlotte, in fact. But I'm still in non-racing mode, so don't want to get publicly humiliated by a bunch of 30 min 10k-ers.

Good luck, though! If you see anyone from the Greenville Track Club, tell them hi.
