Majestic sounds really good. I'd like a majestic run someday. Are mountains required for that?

Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop running because when you're gawking at the scenery while running, it's easy to trip. So you have to stop and take it in. This never happened to me when I lived in Florida. Although runs along the water are nice.

Everything in Utah is hilly, so I have to assume it is quite hilly. No hills here. Small grades people call hills.

I just noticed that you must have recently added "Winner 1985 Rod Dixon Run" to your side bar, which, other than the race reports, are the only accolades I have been able to pull from your blog. The other was a 10:17? 2-mile time trial from your military fitness test. You told me about that and how you met your wife.

1:54 800, 4:01 1500, 15:06 5k, 31:55 10k on the track. Them's my PR's from my 20s in the 1980s.

The Rod Dixon run was where we'd run a mile and drink a beer in under 10 minutes until we couldn't do it anymore or timed out. Timed out would be like coming through 5 laps in 51 minutes. I did 13.5 miles/beers in 1985. #pride

Thanks. I have always wondered, but I guess all I had to do was ask :-)

I tried to look up the run, but couldn't find anything but his famous quote makes this make sense. That is an impressive record.

He was a great runner who loved his beer. I think the run was an invention of the Furman University cross country team.
