I'm taking an extended break from running. My first in about 10 years. I'm going to pass on any winter racing and hopefully resume training sometime in March so I'll be able to do some quality summer racing. In the meantime, I plan to do lots of swimming and other forms of cross training plus some skiing and hiking.

Book recommendation: The Long Haul by Finn Murphy (no relation as far as I know).

Breaks are good and restorative. I always appreciate the book recommendations, particularly after Shop Class as Soul Craft.

I think I would like to take a very long extended break from running too. Think I might be losing interest. :(

You may find yourself fresh and excited about running after taking a break. Enjoy the cross training!
