Last speed workout with my guys before State. We met at the park by my house and did a 1.5 mile warm-up then fartleks. We did 30 sec, 1 min, 2 min with the same recovery time as speed. Then we did the same thing in a pyramid: :30, 1:00, 2:00, 2:00, 1:00, :30. We cooled down for 1.5 miles at the end. Then went to my house for a big Saturday morning breakfast. Very nice morning for running! I kept up with my guys until the last set of fartleks then my legs, especially the hamstrings, were like rocks. I guess I am not quite ready to run fast like that yet, I need one more week. |
