| Just updated my short term goals. I set a goal of 600 miles for last year and ended up with 744! I was shooting for 15 miles a week and 50 miles a month. Fortunately I was successful with the weekly mileage most of the time so I achieved my monthly and yearly goal with ease. I decided to be a little more ambitious this year so I'm shooting for 800 for the year. All I need to do is add a couple of miles a week. It's really hard to be consistent in these winter months, but I'm going to try.

| Eric wanted to get up and do a few easy miles, so we went to the indoor track and he ran a couple with me (really easy miles for him, I picked it up a bit).

| Totally didn't have time, so I ran a quick one outside just to get my goal for the week. Week one was a success. Just 51 more to go.
Also - I set a goal of 90 minutes a week of cross training (weights, aerobic, yoga etc..). I got 65 minutes in this week. It's a start....

| I've had a bad tension headache and was feeling super tight. A thirty minute workout actually helped loosen things up.

| Four up the canyon with Adam. It was cold and I probably should have eased into my new mileage goals since November and December were pretty low. Most of my recent miles have been on the indoor track too. In other words, I had a pretty big IT band flare up. I walked some on the way back to keep it from totally blowing up. It didn't bother me the rest of the day, but I'll need to be very careful next week to keep things happy.
About 60 minutes of strength training this week. I also need to be careful with this over the next week or two. More stretching, go easy on the squats, but definitely do it.

| I took yesterday off to let my IT band settle down. I probably should have done some easy cross training though to loosen things up. We ran outside this morning. It was cold, but we took it easy. I had some tightness on the outside of both knees (especially the left), but no flare up. Yay!
Saw an incredible shooting star at the end of the run. It was so close we could see the rock with the flames coming off of it as it burned out over the high school. Breathtaking.

| The only good thing about late start Wednesday is that Adam and I get to run together sometimes. We did the old Main Street, 200 North route with a detour back up 800 W since traffic was so awful on Center Street.
