Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

AM: Me and my ipod. I am sick of running slower than 8 min pace but couldn't sustain any faster. I had aches in my left knee and right foot yesterday but didn't feel much when running (except left calf is still a little tight/sore but no knot and right hamstring still is achy). I pinched my right ankle while running, hurt when I did it but felt fine once I got on level ground again. I a running hypochondriac! I am going to Dr. Brady's today. The question's always what to have him work on. I think I'll keep with the ham.

Ave pace 8:04

Dr. Brady worked on my ham and also worked on my calf.  They are feeling better, though I cursed him a little.

PM: 4.05, 8 loops around the WH park, hilly, did strides on the top part of the loop. ave pace 7:37

I am right there with ya, I stress over every ache and pain I feel! I was calling April almost everyday asking her questions. I have tried to not worry about them and it seems everything is starting to relax.

Michele- Nice job on the Spanish Fork 1/2 Marathon. It looks like you're right on track for the 2:45 at St George. I hope I'm right there with you. I'm coming around and finally on top of my own aches/pains. But I totally relate to the running hypochondriac comment- it's so applicable this time of year.

Hyper-hypo :) Have fun at Dr. Bradys! Great miles! Don't worry about the pace- it's Molasses Monday!
