Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

medium long run with the SF group. I ran with Ali, Hal and Tara for six miles, then Hal, Doug and Ali, then just Doug around the golf course, then TylerS for .25, then by myself for a little. It's nice to not have to do a long-long run today. I'll be running the Payson 10K on Monday for a nice tempo workout. If I'm feeling good I'll try to do 6:00 pace, if its raining or I'm tired I'll have to adjust.

Its nice to have race to get your speedwork in. You have had a great week of training, we were talking today on our run how incredible a runner you are! Good luck on monday!

85 miles this week. Awesome job! How you feeling? Good luck on Monday.

Michelle, Kellie and I are trying to work it out so that we can come on Monday. I think that we will show up! I am glad that you are the one being chased and not me. That puts more pressure on you! But you handle pressure really good, so you can handle me chasing you in St G.

Mike - I am feeling good. I am anxious for the marathon to come, though. I am glad that its almost time to taper and attack St. G.

Tyler - Hope you can make it and that it's not too rainy. St. G should be interesting. I predict you'll be a little more aggressive at the beginning than me, which basically means we might be running right around each other. Are you doing Payson this week? I am planning on my first Payson downhill run of the season on Wed.

Hey Michelle, It was nice running with you for a while. I found your blog that you talked about on our run. I setup an account. I feel faster already :)
