Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

10.1 miles total, 6 miles of running (8:04 ave pace) with Josse and MacK, just like old times.  It was great.  Josse wrote that we ran and chatted through SF, I would add that Michelle cackled.

I would have walked more, but I am sealing our asphalt driveway (putting on a thin layer of tar) and that is going to be hours of work.  Paul can't help because any strenuous activity could make a clot move.  So at least one of my trusty neighborhood boys will be coming over to help.

First 30 mile week since mid February, or 8 months.  Wow.

My SI felt much better yesterday, so I got in my second ab workout.  I am glad to be repeating 30 mpw, hopefully my body will get used to it.

Update: worked 6 hours sealing my asphalt drive, felt so tired by the end I wanted to just lay down on it and give up.  Result from this or running 6 miles, is SI was back to persistent low level niggling for the evening.  So no abs.  So this was a 2 ab workout week.  Kind of sad about that.

How's the driveway?? We should have come over and helped you but we were having Battle of the All-Star Basement Cleaning/fix the CentralVac/do the laundry/clean your rooms fest. There was a little blood shed, but all seem to be mending well ;D

All of that slogging on the driveway had to have some element of ab work :) Plus you have a sweet new driveway :)

:) :) :)

How does the driveway look?

I am always amazed at how much you do. Seems like last year at this time you were moving some big rocks or planting trees or something like that. :)

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

The driveway looks black, looks nice. It is covered by falling leaves. It is so pretty up here right now.

Teena--if it's not one project, it's another. I'll be moving on to touch up painting soon.

You are coming along really well, Michelle. I always love getting motivation from your posts.
