Ran City Creek again. Its almost exactly 10 miles RT from the Federal Building to the milepost 3 marker past the gate. Ran into Lyman, one of the fast runner bloggers, a nice guy so ran awhile with him which was fun. Great fall temps to run. At the water treatment area, saw a couple water ouzels - birds that like to bob up and down and even can walk underwater. Had the upper 3 miles of downhill in the canyon to myself - didnt see anyone but the fallen leaves dancing from the wind
Tried my Garmin 305 for the first time, Ive had it but forgot to use it. Still need to read the manual more and learn more about it. It appears I may have gotten a defective one - its distances are alot lower than Im sure Im running and the time speed per mile is alot slower than I know Im running. Its got to be the device, it cant be me (dream on)
Im not running very fast, seems like I only averaged 12 minutes on the uphill and 10 minutes on the downhill per mile. But I know if I push it the left IT band and right achilles will get aggravated. I hear them telling me that if you run any faster, youre going to be sorry. City Creek has a fair grade uphill and that tires me so my downhill isnt as fast either
Im pleased this week with getting the miles in for me. This is my 4th day this week of more than 8 miles. Alot for me. My schedule has luckily worked out for me this week - it is challenging at times. I can tell Im tired from the running - my upper legs feel very tired and my mind is feeling sleepy. Good improvement for me |
