Second day of the Goofy Challenge. Ran the races with the thought that they needed to be treated as an ultramarathon. I'll write up a full race report on Tuesday. Legs are trashed. Probably shouldn't have wandered Downtown Disney last night and done Harry Potter today. Kind of sad - but I have made the decision to take a year off from marathons or longer. Going to focus on speeding up my pace.

Not a bad idea for the speedwork - I did the same thing. Congrats on the goofy challenge - thats a tough weekend!

Awesome!!! Can't wait to read all the details.

I was going to do the same thing this year about marathons. Well, I was planning on running only one, but I change my mind way too often. Now the lure of long distance races is calling my name and I'm changing my plans again.

I think it is great to change things up!

Thanks everyone. More blog details at the attached link.

It was a fun race to do, but I am probably not going to do it again. Far too many other races I have in mind for my future.

I am really sick again this week (had to find a doctor while on vacation) - so think it is time to get healthy and take it easy for a little while.

AWESOME JOB on the Goofy Challenge! You had me grinning when you saw that a lot of other *goofy challengers* were in much worse shape than you! I think your ultra experience shined thru! :) CONGRATZ!

Oh, please get better soon!

In case you noticed, I just posted on the wrong blog!!! DA! Sorry, I made your comment and thought I switched to Smooth's blog. I think it is time for me to go to bed!

What a fun report! I would absolutely treasure the three medals you earned that weekend! How cool! Goofy Cool! Take care of yourself!

Man, you are goofy Maurine! jk. I think your plan for next year sounds like a good one. I've liked the methods my coach has used to help me get in shape, and they are pretty easy on my body. We can chat if you want.

From RAD on Sat, Jan 15, 2011 at 20:17:55 from 67.172.229.125

I think getting better and then focusing on pace is a GREAT goal! It is a good idea to change thing up occasionally. I think our bodies get too used to just doing the same ol' thing all the time.

You are amazing for finishing this challenge, I can not even imagine how hard it must've been on your body, you definitely do have to be a little goofy to do it! :)

I just saw this!!!!

You are INCREDIBLE!!!!! :) :) :)

Congrats Maurine!

(Seriously ... you are amazing. :) :) :) :))

Thank you everyone! It was a fun race series to do.

Just throwing it out - but I am planning the Disneyland Half over Labor Day weekend if anyone wants to join me on a trip. I want to complete the Coast To Coast Race Challenge (http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/about/coast-to-coast-race-challenge) and this will probably be the only year I will be doing Disney races.
