I started assisting coaching with the middle school cross country team. I was really excited to run with the group today. In the end, I felt badly for the underdog and the last runners. I stuck with these 2 sixth graders. Poor kids. Their parents are forcing them to be on the team. One was wearing a polo shirt and jeans and had thick perscription tinted glasses and thin puma shoes. The other kid was a little over weight couldn't keep his shoes tied and breathed like he was having an asthma attack. They could barely run 10 steps at a time. I tried encouraging and motivating them. They complained the entire time. At one point, one of them dropped on the grass and started rolling around. My watch clocked .75 miles in 16:54min. It was painful to watch them. I hope I can find a way to help. I believe everyone can improve in running!
I'm only counting a mile today for wear and tear on the shoe.
