Long-Term Running Goals: Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.
I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.
Personal: Dad of three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.
I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.
(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.
I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:
Forward Progress!
Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

Had a little bit of trouble getting moving this morning, so run was slightly abbreviated. Just out and back a little bit past the water fountain near the golf course.
PM: 1.7, 22:00, 12:56 avg
Run/walk around the neighborhood loop with Stella. This was the first run/walk with Stella since she had to get her stitches, it went pretty well and helped make up a little bit for the abbreviated run this morning. Was a pretty nice evening for a run/walk with Stella.

Ran at Longleaf with the Striders. I got there on time (for the morning picture). Ran about 1 mile with David and Josh before drifting ahead. There was no water at the water stop but it was cool enough and I had been running easy enough that it wasn't a big deal.
The run overall was really nice. I did not really look at my pace until near the end. I had been going a little bit faster each mile but each mile didn't feel any harder than the one before.
While it was still dark, the moon was pretty bright.

Ran with Joe and Jamie in the neighborhood. Was feeling a bit sluggish again at first but just sort of followed along until my legs felt better. Kind of warm at 75 degrees but otherwise pretty nice.

Short easy run a little bit over three miles, then did 6x25 second strides with 50 second jogs in between to remember some speed. Legs felt pretty good.
Was a beautiful morning!

Ran about 5 miles easy, from my house, out and back to Trinity Blvd, stopped in the house, took the dogs for a quick walk then finished up with one more mile at 7:13 pace.
Today is Andy's last official day of high school, then next week off and graduation a week from Sunday. 4 years has flown by and he's grown up in so many ways as he prepares to head off to school at USF next year (fortunately for me still pretty close to home)

Ran from my house, leaving about 6:50 (was trying for 6:30 start). First mile was slow. Gradually went a little bit faster. Dropped off my gartorade at the little church near Longleaf and ran up to Aristide neighborhood entrance. "Official" group run was from Longleaf (due to Starkey not fully reopened yet after the fire) so there was a case of water up there. Ran down Alico pass a little bit before turning back. Picked up my speed some more and ran the last three miles 7:36, 7:43, 7:06. It was humid and getting warm by the end of the run (almost 80), but a little bit of breeze helped.
Happy to have finished another week over 40. Maybe I can fit in a few more miles next week.
