Short-Term Running Goals:

  • Sub 40:00 10K
  • 2:59 Marathon
  • 1:25 Half Marathon
  • 18:30 5K

Long-Term Running Goals:

Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.

I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.

Personal:

Dad of  three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.

I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.

(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.

I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:

Forward Progress!

Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

Grateful Blog

Love living in Florida but love to travel and see the country and rest of the world.

9.18 mi, 1:16:15. 8:18 pace

Ran in the neighborhood, 1 loop, then out to the golf course and back.  Warm and windy and a little bit humid.  I enjoyed these miles today, woke up feeling good.

10.21 mi, 01:22, 08:00 pace

Ran at the Y with the Striders, 5:30 start.

Easy mile warm up, and then decided to tag along with Melanie, Beka, and Diane while they did 6x1 mile repeats with 0.25 jogs between. Followed along for the first couple, kept up for the next two and ended up taking the lead for the last two. Run felt great. Weather had looked iffy, so glad I took a chance and had the fortune to run along with the fast girls. Split times: 6:52, 7:06, 6:42, 6:39,6:50,6:47

8.05 mi, 1:04:41, 8:02/mi

Ran in the neighborhood, out to Heritage Springs, then back the other way and a bit out onto Trinity Blvd on the grassy shoulder.  Beautiful, cool morning perfect for running, thankful.

(started a little bit late, extra sleep was good)

9.19 mi, 01:16, 08:15 pace

Started out feeling super sluggish but eventually warmed up. Ran out to water fountain, then did two loops out to Trinity Oaks and back, then home.

Last full mile at 7:04 pace, amazing how much difference between the first mile and last mile!

Lake Tarpon Loop

Pinellas Trail on Tarpon Ave, to East Lake road and down to Tampa Rd. Cut through Highland Lakes and ran back to start. Stopped twice for water (7-11 and Publix) but kept my watch running for the stops.  Beautiful morning for running, a little overcast with the sun peaking out now and then, ended up with a farmer's tan.

Always kind of wanted to try this route. I think I would do it again.
