Short-Term Running Goals:

  • Sub 40:00 10K
  • 2:59 Marathon
  • 1:25 Half Marathon
  • 18:30 5K

Long-Term Running Goals:

Maintain my health and continuously seek to improve my fitness. Maybe someday get under 3:00 for marathon. More importantly, I'd like to figure out what my maximum ability is and reach that.

I'd also like to find the right balance in life and use running to enhance and improve myself.

Personal:

Dad of  three (welcome Charlotte Dani on 8/10/20) awesome kids and stepdad to three almost as awesome as my own kids.

I have a brown dog named Stella, and three cats - Catty, Tortie, and Esperanza.

(old lines that were a little out of date but couldn't quite bring myself to removing them completely:) Also, have one wonderful brown dog named Sammy and just added a grey tiger cat (Catty) whose life started out rough but now has a better home.

I've recently started another blog so I can easily add lots of pictures and so other non-FRB users can leave comments:

Forward Progress!

Also, for 2012 I started a blog to write down each day one thing that I am grateful for

Grateful Blog

Love living in Florida but love to travel and see the country and rest of the world.

5.320.005.000.000.000.000.0010.32

10.32 mi, 1:18:28, 7:36 pace

5:30 am run at Longleaf with Striders, although most of it was done by myself since I was a couple of minutes late, but still benefited from being with the group (also was just in time to grab a cup of coffee as the last ones there were breaking down the table).

I started out easy, eased into it some more then finally I decided on a progression run, but after the first faster mile I decided to just go with tempo, so last 5 miles were:

6:49,6:48,6:54,6:48,6:35

The faster miles all felt hard, like I couldn't do them but somehow still managed and with a pretty decent last mile.

Temperatures still in the low 70's.

47:00, 5.25, 8:57 pace

Ran a little over three miles with Jess then 2 miles on my own. Picked it up a little at the end but mostly even.  Warm and humid this morning but easing into the hot stuff.

16.07 mi, 02:3309:31 pace

Little bit later start than planned. Ran down Klosterman road to the Pinellas trail down to Curlew road where I bough a gatorade then turned back. Saw the gorillas at the primate sanctuary, lots of people and dogs out. Kept my watch running during most of the stops. Good change of scenery.

End of the run was 87 degrees.  There is a run the entire length of the trail at the end of August, 46 miles.  Thinking about doing it.  Will definitely be a warm one

9.060.000.000.000.000.000.009.06

9.06 mi, 1:16:45, 8:28

Run around the neighborhood and past the golf course.  Slow start then a good steady pace, was able to get one more mile than what I had hoped for.

7.260.000.000.000.000.000.007.26

7.26 mi, 57:51, 7:57 pace

Ran at the Y with the Striders.  Was not feeling up to tempo or interval paces, so just ran steady.  A lot of people seemed to be dragging this morning.  It was humid but the temps were below 75 so that was good.  Despite all that it turned into a rejuvenating run.
