I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

90 minute bike ride with Michelle. As always, I am SO glad that she drags me out with her. I am really fighting full on depression and being very active works wonders. Michelle is the best friend, seriously!

I ran one mile on the treadmill. I am going to be doing my “come back” a little differently than I had planned. I am going to do 2 miles this week, one at a time on the treadmill. Next week I’ll do 3, 3 different days, and four the next, etc. Once I am doing one mile a day on the treadmill, six days a week, I will slowly add more miles. My logic is that I need to learn to run again slowly with my stretches, scraping and massage, to make sure I don’t go binding my hip up again. I do have some drills to do while I am running to help straighten out my left foot a bit. I am not trying to all out change my form or anything like that, I just want to come back slowly enough to make sure that I am addressing the core issues of my injury.

Have a GREAT day!!

Sounds like a great and careful plan! Sorry you are melancholy--hopefully it will soon pass. Do you feel perkier around the holidays? You are on the comeback!

Kelli- Hola fellow injured ;) You and I both know that baby steps are no fun :p I'll be good :)

April- I have always had a hard time from the time school starts until about March 1st. Running has really curbed that a TON. The only other thing that kicks my bum almost as well as running is swimming, but our pool is closed :( there is such a purging effect with HARD exercise. I need to chill :) ...and pray that my friends keep kicking me out of my bed :)

You are very smart to take it slowly. That's the best approach.

Hang in there! March is just around the corner (sort of).

Slow and easy wins the race and avoids injury. Keep up the good work. I need someone to get me out of bed each day...
