I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

HI LORI!!! I am with you sister! Lets ruin winter by having Fall until January :)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 12:08:46 from 198.241.217.15

We're still kind of in the dumps over here. Please send your lovely Fall weather this way.

Congratulations on the stable weight. Your kidneys must be doing their job. Today's day 3 of the Ibuprofen, right? Is that the last day?

i had to read back a bit to catch up on your hip. what is it with these hip injuries? yoga helped mine a ton...do you feel like it is helping you? i agree about the beautiful weather...it's PERFECT right now!

From marion on Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 12:33:59 from 71.213.105.213

Allie- the hip is ITB related, or I should say my ITB issues stem from my tight bum/hips ;) Yoga is my salvation. It really helps to keep my body balanced and strong and most importantly, helps the repetitiveness of running from getting to me. Needless to say, I have been ignoring my yoga practice for about 8 months :( I will not make that mistake again... probably :D

CArolyn- yep, today is the last day and my hip actually feels better :) I could sleep in my usual contorted positions without pain :) Hey- we are supposed to be int he 80's for the next THREE days :) Yippee!!! Why don't you just come over for the weekend. Your boys can enjoy the video game fest that happens each weekend in our basement. Oh and you can help me go and BEAT up the band teacher. He bullied and harrassed my 17 year old yesterday and I fear he picked on the wrong kid. this mama bear is on the war path along with the pipe instructor, principal and the rest of the parents of the kids on the pipe band. I sort of feel bad for him, except I don't ;)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 13:42:21 from 198.241.174.15

It would be lovely if I could come. However, I would have to drive all day Saturday to get there and then all day Sunday to get home. And I've got to teach primary and lead choir practice on Sunday.

Shame on the band teacher. I gave my 17-year-old an excused absence to skip orchestra yesterday. I'm not totally against the orchestra teacher (though I had to endure a big long phone call from him the other day), but my son is.

Some of my kids want to come to Utah for Fall Break, which is October 19-23. I'm thinking about it. The problem is that their cousins and Utah friends will be in school, so my kids wouldn't have anyone to hang out with during the day.

W have our fall break the week before :( I'd still LOVE to see you :) If I am still not running, I could yell "mush" from my bike :)

From LuzyLew on Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 18:51:31 from 208.187.197.42

Wasn't today spectacular? They say we'll drop to the 50's by next week w/ rain. Enjoy this weekend.....I'm glad you can use the ibuprofen without the water retention. I'm worried about your kidneys now. We have a free kidney screening coming up in Price on October 13th, at Dixon Middle School October 16th, and one in Gunnison on October 31st. Call Ann me and I can set you up an appoitment (they test for GFR).

From marion on Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 19:06:41 from 71.213.105.213

Luz- I would LOVE a screening :) It could come back all normal and then I would know that the other test was just a freak result. I was fasting at the time of my blood test and in some studies I read, the results can come back false positive for low kidney function if the patient was dehydrated ;) I have been meaning to call to get my actual #'s and find out if they did the gfr or just the creatinine levels. Please PM me Ann's number :) Where is Dixon Middle School?

From marion on Fri, Sep 25, 2009 at 19:07:04 from 71.213.105.213

Yes, I am going to relish the next 3 days :)
