It was 23 degrees and foggy this morning. I ran 6.52 miles easy to try to get back in the swing of things. Last week I took an overdue break..... The truth of the matter is I have been running in pain for months now. I have had several nagging injuries and pain that just won't go away. I tried running less miles with less intensity but that wasn't enough. I needed to just stop for a few days and just heal. I should have listened to my body more and done this earlier. My performances in the Pocatello and St. George marathons were due to the fact that any time I tried to run fast, it just plain hurt. When I ran the Just Cuz 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago I tried to take it easy and that hurt too. I need to get back to pain-free, enjoyable running. Today was better.
