Running Accomplishments:

Started running in 2001.  Have completed over 100 marathons and ultras since then. 

Marathon PR 2:56:04 (2005 St. George)

New PR 2:53:24 (2008 Tucson)

Finished 2nd Overall in 2005 Utah Grand Slam to Paul Peterson.  He beat me by 30 min in every race.

1/2 Marathon PR 1:23:56 (2008 Just Cuz Half Marathon)

Completed the Utah Grand Slam 10 consecutive years (2003-2012).  I don't know if anyone else has done that.

Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 Goals:

Be consistent in my Riding.

Drop a few lbs.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I have long-term biking goals.  Running is completely out of the question with the Meniscus in my knee.

Personal:

I'm in the 60-64 Age Group.....Yikes!

I have been married for over 40 years.  We have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

No run today, trying to be fresh for half-marathon tomorrow.  Looks like the weather might be unfavorable; wind and possible rain.  Funny, I didn't think I was in St.George again.  Did some abdominal work to pass the time this morning.  I should do well tomorrow but I won't beat Kory if he pushes it.  My 100% is about equal to his 75%.

Bill, I'm no where near ready for this race. I'm really just running it for fun, and might just pace Barry. But I could go out and see what I could do. If you want I could try to really push it to push you to PR.

But my body might just break down if I try going fast. I haven't been able to run really fast this week, because I've been weak and fatigued.

Just go out and have fun, what pace do you plan to run at?

Kory, I don't think I can go much faster than a 1:25....but you never know. I would rather have you pace Barry because this race is more of a goal race for him than it is for you and me.

Just run by feel and take the first few miles a little easier on the extreme downhill. I bet you'll surprise yourself. I've ran the rest of the course and it's not easy with the rolling hills. By taking the first few miles easier will make the rolling hills not as tough on your legs.
