The plan today was to run outside for lunch but after walking over to the gym to change I realized how cold it is!  There was a wind blowing constantly to top it off.  Yes, I am a wimp and as much as I hate the TM I hate being cold even more.

Picked up the pace a little since today was a planned short run.  I did quite a few squats yesterday and really felt in my glutes (?) today.  I am so out of shape, that is stength wise.  I figured I would spend the winter getting three strength workouts a week, mostly upper body.  I found web a website (actually through blonderunner's link) that trains you to do 100 consecutive pushups in 6 weeks.  I am on week 3 and hopefully by Christmas I'll meet the challenge.

Total time: 38:49

Average Pace: 7:46

Now that I spending time on the TM I'll have to be more considerate of the runners around me.  I rotate four pairs of running shoes and have been picking the pair that stinks the least every morning.  Its gotten to the point that they are all smelling very offensive.  I'll have to wash them this weekend.

Nice run Lyman! I think strength training a few times a week is a good idea. I'm doing it 3 times a week as well. I feel that I am in much better shape than when I was just running. Lol about shoes!

Hey I dont do too much strength, but I have found, doing step ups, and core work, and skipping to be good for strengthening those smaller muscles and larger ones together....

HHmmmmm smelly shoes, mine are terrible and didnt want to punish the kitchen fitters tooo much I put mine outside in the cold poor things LOL

Sandy - where exactly do you get you skipping in, on the sweatmill? That would be fun to watch.
